CHAPTER 23

I stopped chasing after master Feng Ying and saw a group of people were besieging their prey. I glanced at Master Feng Ying who was clenching her teeth furiously, looking at a girl as well as an old man who was being cornered in front there.

He descended his horse and directly ran towards the people who would harm the two people. Master Feng Ying managed to save the girl, when a sword was about to hit her body.

I never thought something like this would happen before. I thought walking in the woods would be safe, but it wasn't. I have to admit I haven't been in a forest all this time, so I don't know if the forest is dangerous enough.

I just thought that maybe the danger posed by the forest was only in the form of ferocious flesh-eating beasts such as tigers, tigers or wolves.

But I ignored him and walked away. I stopped near a river not far from there. Soon I got off the horse and washed my face there. Many times I washed my face hoping that what I had just seen was just a dream that would just disappear.

Before long someone patted my shoulder from behind making my alertness level increase. And I quickly grabbed hold of that hand and twisted it to the back of that person's body.

"God! Her Highness.. Let go of me!." Shouted someone who turned out to be Feng Ying's teacher.

I was shocked back, it turned out that the person who patted my shoulder and surprised me was teacher Feng Ying. I exhale and release it. I rubbed my face rough, I don't know what was going on with me right now.

"What's wrong with you?!." Master Feng Ying shouted in annoyance at me.

I just kept quiet without answering. I walked away leaving him and sat under a tree. I leaned my body there. It feels like my energy is drained at the moment. The shadow of those people who died in front of me is still clear I remember. And it makes me unsettled.

I caught a glimpse of teacher Feng Ying walking towards me. The two people we helped were cleaning themselves in the river. The river water was very clear and fresh as I washed it on my face.

Master Feng Ying looked at me with a difficult to interpret gaze. And I again ignored his presence by closing my eyes. I could hear her footsteps getting closer, and she was sitting next to me.

"Your face is pale. Are you scared?." He started asking.

"Eh." Just the murmur I gave.

"I'm sorry. I don't know if you were so shocked and scared." He said with regret.

I didn't respond but I opened my eyes. I glanced at the two people we had helped. They were gathering some firewood that seemed like a bonfire was about to be made.

Well... It was dark, and it looked like we were going to camp here tonight. Our trip was only a few hours away. So it's okay if we camp here while resting.

The night looks beautiful with many stars scattered in the sky even though the moon has not appeared. I enjoyed this scene while trying to forget about it.

The night wind caressed my face. I began to feel calm. And without me noticing teacher Feng Ying stepped away from me and walked up to the two people. I am still observing the beauty that the sky is showing tonight while enjoying the cool breeze of the night wind that hits my body.
