Chapters 12. Holiday Class Hike

It has been a year since I entered elementary school, I have finished my grade-level examination, and am currently on a long vacation after the grade-level examination.

Right now my family and I are on the way to my father's hometown to meet my grandmother and grandfather.

We used to go home once a year during long vacations, and my dad took a week off at his office.

We used the plane to get there, because our journey would be very far. It took almost an hour and a half to get there.

Then we reached my grandparents' house.

My grandparents were gardening in his garden, hearing the sound of the car he turned to us.

"Yes, long time no see, it seems you always grow up when you come here." Then continued with a casual greeting from my grandfather.

My grandmother was very active and passionate, her nature like that made her easy to get along with the people around her, but even like that she was quite ignorant.

Unlike my grandmother, my grandfather was a relaxed and calm person, his nature like that made everyone who was near him comfortable including myself.

Their nature complements each other, so they are quite familiar at home.

After that, my grandparents turned to both of us.

"Yes.my grandchildren look cute as always." My grandmother said after smiling after seeing us.

"It looks like you guys have grown up since you last came here, kids do grow up fast." Continued with my grandfather with his distinctive voice and dialect.

""Hello, grandma..."" We talked together and cheerfully greeted them.

"Yes! Enough of his welcome, not good on the outside continuously, let's go inside."

We followed him into the house. Their house was made of wood and had only one floor but was spacious enough to accommodate all of us.

"Put your things in the room, and after that we'll eat, I've prepared them before." Said my grandfather as he walked towards the kitchen with my grandmother.

We put our things in the prepared room and ate together afterwards.

We talked about a lot of things during the meal, they asked us a lot about our life in the city, and we also told them things.

They also told us a lot of things, and the current meal time was really very pleasant and warm.

I continue to hope that days like this will always come and that time will not pass quickly.

After our family finished eating, my sister, father and mother decided to go to my uncle's house around here.

Not too far from my grandparents' house, only about five minutes' walk away.

After arriving at the uncle's house, we were greeted warmly, finished greeting them while my parents were chatting in the living room with uncle and aunt.

Right now we're playing in her daughter's room the same age as my sister's.

She's named Adelia Halliwell, we're cousins so have the same last name, and I usually call her Adel's sister.

In his room we told him and talked about many things, and it seemed that Adel was very interested in life in the city, so we told him a lot about the city.

"Hey... What do you usually do when you're bored in the city?" Adel's sister asked us about it.

My brother and I stared at each other and could only laugh at Adel's attitude.

Adel then told him how boring he was here, there was no internet network, there was no Mal, there was no cafeteria, there were no other entertainment places like in the city, and what he usually does here is to help his parents take care of the garden and when bored he usually plays around the mountain but not too far from the village.

But for us, what Adel said was boring, for those of us who used to live in the city it was quite a pleasant thing, he said, the atmosphere in the village is very soothing and the temperature here is also quite cool unlike in a city that is quite hot and the atmosphere in the city is also quite noisy and full of people.

After a long time at my uncle's house, it was getting dark and we decided to go back to my grandfather and grandmother's house, and it seemed like tomorrow they were also planning to go there, too, and we'll go to the hot springs near here together.

When my mother came home to help my grandmother prepare dinner, my grandfather and father were chatting in the living room and while waiting for dinner we decided to take a bath first, of course we took a bath separately.
