Kenan's Destiny

Kenan's Destiny
Kiran Behold

"Get it!" pinta Kenan to Kiran who was still looking at the three moaning thugs while holding their hands.

He glanced at his brother, his eyes flat with fear in his gray manic.

"Is Brother's hand okay?" ask him while watching Kenan's hand. The teenager smiled, he scrambled his sister's hair that was tied in two with anxiety.

"So it's okay, come on up! We go home" he said again. Kiran climbed up, she hugged her sister's back tightly.

The old bicycle was pedaled by Kenan leaving the three thugs still grimacing in pain. Today, he plans to go to work after driving Kiran home.

He doesn't know, Regan's school is busy looking. Wanting to contact him, Kenan did not have a device.

"Ah, fuck! Where the hell's he going? Why leave class?" he beat him up while hitting empty air. Regan heads to his own car, upset that Kenan left home first.

"Are you going to work today? I want to eat another meat steak" asked Kiran from behind Kenan's back.

"Yes, you have to find a lot of money so we can go and live alone. If you want a steak, Brother will bring if there is any left over later," said Kenan who managed to publish a smile on the lips of the sister.

He works part-time at a fancy restaurant as a waitress. The owner himself recommended it because he felt sorry for Kenan's life. However, the manager at his place of work has always been unfair and often oppresses Kenan.

Not yet down from the bike, Bibi's voice has been gushing like a burning hot larva.

"What did you eat my bucket, huh? Did you intentionally damage the furniture in this house? You don't like doing homework, huh? Are you able to replace it? Just trouble! You have to pay me full this month to replace this bucket you broke. Otherwise, just let your sister replace it," hardened Aunt with a reddened face and a high shrill voice.

Kiran embraced Kenan's feet, the little girl trembled in fear. He even cried because of Aunt's high voice that pierced his ear.

"Sister, Kiran was scared," he said tightening a hug at Kenan's feet. The teenager's left hand was embracing the little body of the younger brother. His eyes looked intently at the figure of Aunt standing on the porch of the house.

Angrier. In his heart he wants to fight, but Kenan still appreciates his uncle who never did anything bad.

"I'll replace it. Just relax, Auntie!" sahut Kenan held back the shakes of anger within him.

Aunt stared intently at Kenan as well as Kiran who was still hugging her brother's leg. He turned around and left, seconds later returning to his place making Kenan and Kiran's steps stop for a moment.

"Today you have no food rations. You, just come with your brother to work. You can beg out there to fill that belly of yours!" He turned back after saying that.

"Sister!" Kiran looked up as she felt a tremor in Kenan's hand stinging her body.

His little hands clasped Kenan's fists, unraveling the fingers one by one. Kiran hugged her again, this time she did not cry. He must be a force for Kenan when his older brother is angry.

Kenan closed his eyes as Kiran's touch penetrated into the trough of the heart. He calmed his warming heart, took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

"It's okay ... Brother is fine," he said winning himself as well as Kiran who was still tightly hugging him. The two continued their steps towards their respective rooms to change clothes.

"Sister!" call Kiran at Kenan's room door. The teenager had just finished changing clothes.

"Kiran wants to come with Brother to work. Kiran is scared at home, brother. Kiran promised not to trouble Big Brother, Kiran will wait outside the restaurant where Brother works. Kiran promised, Brother," the little girl said as she raised her little finger.

Kenan frowned, he smiled bitterly as he rubbed the two small shoulders. He was too fragile to feel the rigors of life.

"Not that Big Brother doesn't want to take Kiran, or is afraid that Kiran will nod to Big Brother's work, but .. alright, Big Brother will take Kiran to where Brother works," he said while commenting on the sweet smile to comfort the little girl.

"Thank you, Brother. Kiran dear Brother." The little girl hugged his neck with a happy smile because she did not need to be left alone at home.

"Come on!" Kenan stood up, he grabbed the bag and left the room while holding Kiran's hand. Smiles were pinned on the lips of the two as they stepped out of the room.

Kiran stopped her steps shortly after Kenan stopped. He looked up and saw Roni who was standing staring intently at them with her swollen and red eyes.

Kiran shook Kenan's hand asking him to immediately continue his steps. Kenan grabbed a glass that was loosened on the dining table, squeezing it to melt into pieces of glass scattered on the floor. He deliberately showed it in front of Roni to threaten the cousin who always bothers him.

He smiled cynically at Roni before continuing his steps with Kiran. The man's body stiffened, looking at what Kenan was doing before his eyes.

What he saw last night was not a dream. Kenan actually made the ashtrays and glass cups into ash flakes. He shuddered and went back to his room.

"Ah ... shit! I should have interviewed today, but because these eyes are swollen and red, everything fails" he said, slamming the door on his own.

"Aragh!" He ruffles his own hair as Kenan's cynical smile looms in the eye. "Bad! Just watch out for you, Kenan!" They can only threaten.

Kenan chuckled with Kiran to see Roni's tense face. Up out of the house, both of them look happy because they can suppress Roni with what Kenan did earlier.

The old bicycle was paddled quietly, relaxing while humming the children's song with Kiran. Kenan drops Kiran off at a guard post at the restaurant where she works. He entrusted his sister to the postman, a kind-hearted middle-aged man.

"You wait here, yeah. Brother has to work. Don't be naughty, don't bother Grandpa. Promise?" kenan said to Kiran while raising his little finger.

"Promise!" The little girl's head nodded surely and hooked her finger on the big brother's finger.

Kenan rubbed Kiran's hair before turning on the post guard.

"Titip my brother, sir. He didn't want to be left at home" he said.

"Just calm down, Kenan. You can work quietly as long as this little girl is with me" she replied calmly.

Kenan waved at Kiran after saying goodbye. He entered through the back door of the restaurant and gathered with other employees in the dressing room.

They should wear restaurant uniforms while working. Kiran sat waiting in the post while watching a cartoon show she could never watch while at home. Kenan works quietly, more calmly as Kiran is with him.

"KENAAAANNN!"
