Hospital, New York.
"How is my son's condition developing, doctor?" adrian asked the doctor who treated Adel.
"Sorry sir with a heavy heart I must say that the patient has a decreased health condition." The doctor paused his speech then seemed hesitant to continue his speech. "Sorry even we predict that the patient will not be able to survive more than 6 months."
Deg. Hearing the doctor's words, Adrian's heart seemed to stop operating as soon as sweat began to pour from his temple. Does that mean Adel will leave him in the near future. Not Adrian could not live without Adel, he sat down for a moment his eyes became blurred for a second and then dark as dark as black clouds hanging in the American sky today. His two-and-a-half years of struggle in this country have yielded nothing now to be confronted with the harsh reality that Adel will soon leave him for good.
"Patient father!" The doctor cheered Adrian. "I'll excuse you first, then" he continued.
After the doctor disappeared from sight, Adrian tried to get up from his seat with a trained step he walked into Adel's ward.
"Well why are you so weak?" Adel felt something was strange about his father. All he knew was that Adrian always looked excited in front of him like he is today, walking like an undead.
"Dad's okay" she lied.
"Any one's sick?" Adel pouting.
"Adel does not want to continue like this Well, Adel is sick to do treatment like gini. Adel wants to go home soon, Adel tired. Let alone Adel Adel's hair was tired of wanting to leave adel all. But..." Adel hesitated to continue his words.
"But why?"
"If you go home later Adel's friends must have mocked Adel because of this," he said while holding his head that had been plontos.
"Let's get me some fake hair for you, is Adel really going home?"
"Yes Yah Adel wants to go home, Adel kangen same mother. Why the hell did you never look at Adel here?"
Adrian's blood flow seemed to stop immediately hearing Adel's protest against the attitude of his mother. What should he explain to this boy? Should Adrian be honest but hurt Adel or lie again?
His decision at this time was to go home, stop this painful but useless chemotherapy and treatment. All Adrian wants now is to make Adel happy before he actually leaves Adrian for good. From now on Adrian will fulfill all desires Adel including letting Adel consume food that Adrian had forbidden to consume Adel. But is it right that he's taking Adel home now? What if he is disappointed to find Anisa is no longer home? Long Adrian pensively thought about the next step but his brain seemed to be deadlocked, no idea came up at all.
"Akh. Let me think about that later." If necessary, he will find Anisa when he gets there for Adel.
"Why are you silent? Anyway Adel wants to go home Well," Adel's murmur saw his father is now silent sculpting.
"Ah yes. Well, if that's what Adel wants tomorrow, I'll take care of our return."
"Well, that's the name of a good father. Adel is more affectionate with Daddy," said Adel while holding Adrian with a smile that expands.
Cup. Adrian peeping his daughter's forehead. "Keep smiling like this because your smile is father's spirit."
Adel nodded with a smile that was still broken.
๐๐๐๐๐
The appointed day arrives Adrian will take Adel home at this time.
"How is Adel ready?"
"Very ready Dad," replied Adel who never separated from his smile. Adrian was happy that saw his daughter had grown up it was always strong even though her physique looked thin and weak. It felt like just yesterday Adrian was holding Adel's little baby but now he is 5 and a half years old.
Hopefully this togetherness will not end.
Adrian wiping his tears that escaped without being prevented by tilting from Adel so as not to see that he was crying. Then he took Adel into the car.
"I can walk on my own Daddy doesn't need to be carried" protested Adel.
"Have not protested father again want to carry Adel," said Adrian and then dropped Adel into a taxi car. "To the airport sir!"
The taxi driver drove his car to the airport. Both are now on the plane. Adel then rested his shoulders on the plane seat and fell asleep while Adrian was still awake these days he rarely could sleep his mind was in a mess. Thinking about how he made Adel happy on his age side and how to explain slowly the reality of his mother to Adel. Heavy, it felt so short of breath it bore everything.
After making a flight for almost 22 hours they finally arrived at the airport. They did not wait long to go straight to the car park. There was a driver there to pick them up. They walked hand in hand as Adrian stroked the child's hair.
Annete and the twins were also walking towards a taxi. Annete accidentally saw a father who was holding his son's hand and occasionally rubbed his daughter's hair as if afraid the child was lost. For a moment Annete recalled his childhood how his father used to do the same with the man. Annete was silent looking at the two fathers and sons as if it were him and Johan.
"Aunty why is aunty silent?" tristan asked while pulling Annete's wrist which was now out of step with the others because of dumbstruck.
Annete still did not respond was still nostalgic with his memories.
"Aunty knew that guy?" Nathan chimed in because he saw Annete unblinking looking at the man.
"Ah no, aunty just remembers aunty's childhood just look at them." Annete. Then it took a quick step to compensate Isyana and Lexi who were already ahead.
"Ah yes you are right Aunty's father has calmed down there." The two nodded and ran towards their mother.
Arriving at Adel's house immediately looking for his mother to all corners of the house.
"Mother!"
"Mother!" his yell.
"Where is Bi, where isn't there?"
The maid who was questioned did not answer just looking at Adrian's face for help.
"Adel goes into the bathroom first and changes clothes later I'll tell you where the mother is."
"Good Dad." Adel immediately ran to his room and did as Adrian ordered.
"How's Bi, has Anisa ever been here?"
Aunty shook her head as she said, "Never Sir."
"Did she ever call and ask Adel?"
"Also never Sir."
"Huff." Adrian breathed his heavy breath and said, "Aunty can go already." Aunt nodded and left her master.
After the shower Adrian took Adel to eat.
"Adel eat yuk!"
"Where's Mom Dad?"
"Feed first!" Adel nodded and scooped up his food.
"Now Adel has eaten Father promise will not say Mother where?"
Adrian took a breath. "Adel forgive me, actually when I took you to New York for treatment at that time you left us." Adrian was no longer able to lie.
"What!" You lied, right?" Adel wishes his father had mispronounced but unfortunately Adrian shakes his head. "I'm sorry Dad lied to you all this time. I was forced to lie because I didn't want to burden your mind. But now I can't lie to you anymore."
"Liar's father!" Adel ran to his room and threw whatever was in front of him. Adrian looks to press his chest. Pain rippled into her heart watching her disappointed daughter.
"Adel Darling forgive Dad."
"Why did Mother leave us Well, is it because of hatred for Adel who has always been troublesome? Hiks..hiks...hiks." Adel sobbed while hugging the last of Anisa's stuffed rabbits.
"Why did Mother leave Adel? Is that how much you hate Adel?"
"Honey don't say like that mom is actually dear to Adel but she doesn't like dad so she leaves."
"Dad lied, didn't he?"
"Dad doesn't lie."
"I've grown up Well I've understood it all. Since childhood, my mother never loved Adel, but why did she even give Adel her favorite doll on my birthday?" Adel wrathfully throws the doll from earlier in his embrace and then turns to hug Adrian.
"Adel, Adel should not be sad father promised to find a mother for Adel."
"No, Dad, you don't have to look for him. If he loves Adel, he'll come alone without being sought."
"But Del you..."
"Well I've been living with Daddy already happy. We've been used to living together without a mother, right?"
Adrian nodded as he wiped the tears on his daughter's cheek. "Adel thanks well affection for understanding," said Adrian while tightening his embrace on his little daughter.
"Thank you too Dad has been taking care of me since Adel was little."
