25. Mark and His Ambitions

"Then I want to leave some files here. I'll be back here again."

"I'll tell Jonatan later, if he's back."

The young lady smiled. "Excuse me." After that he opened the door and walked out of the room, leaving Mark alone inside.

After the woman's departure. Mark, who had been watching the woman, silently seemed to think for a moment.

"It seems like I've seen another figure similar to that woman" Mark murmured curiously. He had once briefly found someone who was so similar to the woman, but he did not remember where the figure was.

When he is busy with his thoughts. Mark did not realize that, Jonatan had returned and entered the room.

Jonatan puts an Americano coffee can in front of Mark. "What are you thinking? It's rare to see you put on a serious face like this" Jonatan said.

"Ah .. You're back apparently. Jonatan there was a young woman, who came here like, he wanted to meet you. He also left some files here."

"Oh, Micel. I'll call him later to come here again." Jonatan walked to his office.

"It seems I've seen a figure similar to that woman. But it seems like he is a man. Is it possible that I just mislooked?" Mark curious.

"Micel, my personal assistant, does have an identical twin brother who is an older brother. But the two of them have been separated for a while. Her twin sister, Micael, is studying abroad. It's possible that what you saw was his twin brother" replied Jonatan calmly.

"It is so it seems." Mark nodded his head and grabbed his Americano. Isn't that clearly a lie you're telling Jonatan well? Of course I know you're lying, Mark thought.

The man continued walking until, finally he stopped right at a simple tombstone. He smiled, said hello and put the bouquet of flowers he bought there.

"How are you Rosa? I'm sorry I haven't visited you in a long time. Lately, I have been busy with work and have not had time to visit you. I was really bad, not visiting you for almost a year. But take it easy Rosa, from now on I will visit you more often," said Mark with a look of a sad face.

Rosa is the woman she loves so much, her first love is also her last love in this world. In her life there was only one woman and that woman was Rosa. Even thanks to the woman, Mark never wanted to get married until now. For him if he gets married, he only wants to do it with Rosa.

"Time passes very quickly Rosa. You've been happy in heaven, while I'm honestly not very happy here. I'm still looking for Sera's whereabouts. I'm sure Sera is still alive. I promise you, if one day I find Sera I'll take her to see your grave here."

Rosa, Sera's mother, died in a devastating fire that engulfed her home. His daughter, Sera, disappeared in the fire. Although many people have stated that, Sera died especially when her body was found along with Rosa's body. But Mark himself, who at that time saw with his own eyes convinced that the corpse was not the corpse of Sera. He knew Sera well. The only thing Mark could believe in was the death of Rosa but not her daughter Sera. Years even after the incident Mark continued to search for where Sera was.

"If only .. if only I could protect you you wouldn't end up miserable like this. Why did you have to end up this bad way. From the beginning, you were always made to suffer. Your marriage to Luke as a result of forced betrothal of your parents, made you feel unhappy and ended in divorce. You even lived a hard life with your daughter Sera. And ended up dying in that incident. Had it been ...if only, that day I took you and Sera to the city to escape, it might have been possible that I could have saved you both. Rosa I'm really sorry." Mark sobbed and recalled the events that had happened over the years.

Rosa is a beautiful woman who became her childhood friend, as well as her first love as a child. He had promised to marry Rosa, but what a power, the Rosa family opposed his desire because he was still poor and living a difficult life. Rosa came from a family of traders who were almost bankrupt, therefore Rosa was betrothed to other merchant families to improve their business. But unfortunately the effort, too, did not produce a good thing. The failed attempt did not produce results, but the domestic life of Rosa and her husband ran aground.

While Mark himself is getting more and more successful, Rosa's life is slowly getting closer to destruction. Mark who could not bear to see Rosa suffer, then weave the relationship secretly behind with Rosa. The two had an affair when Rosa, still officially became the wife of someone else. Mark knew it was wrong, but he could not bear to see the woman he loved suffer. She even asked Rosa to divorce her husband or run away with him. But Rosa always refused, and even Rosa herself said she would be ready to bear the risk if their affair was finally known.

Until finally the affair was known by Rosan's husband. And Rosa is divorced, the woman ends up living alone with one of her daughters named Sera in a small hut. Knowing this, always persuaded Rosa to bring her daughter to live with her, or offer her help. But Rosa refused, saying she wanted to show her responsibility especially as a parent.

Mark who saw how stubborn Rosa was, finally slowly felt a little irritated. When she felt ready to take responsibility, Rosa steadfastly refused. Until finally, Mark himself chose not to interfere too much anymore.

And the incident appeared. The incident where Mark finally heard the news of Rosa's death. Mark immediately felt collapsed and disappointed. He regretted his decision to turn away from Rosa for a moment. Because of his choice, he had to regret it for the rest of his life. The only goal Mark currently has is, finding Sera.

Because he had found a little clue. Mark became a little convinced, that he still had hope. A woman who becomes the daughter-in-law of the Purple family, and also the wife of the bankrupt businessman Sam Purple. The woman named Madelin had a resemblance to Sera.

"I promise to find your daughter Sera. Please hold onto these words of mine, for I will no longer run away as I once did." Mark then kissed the gravestone, as if he were kissing Rosa's forehead like he used to.
