S2 Chapter 72

Inside Serena's nursery. The atmosphere feels very calm. There was no other sound there other than the sound of a heart rate monitor on the table. Daniel slept soundly, still with his hands hugging Serena's body.

Serena's heart rate monitor is still running normally. Serena still wears some tools on her body. An oxygen hose is also still attached to his nose.

Serena opened her eyes slowly. Staring at the ceiling of the room with a still unclear gaze. His hand moved slowly to touch Daniel's face beside his head. A circle of tears dripped from his eye patch.

“Daniel ...” said Serena in a very weak voice.

Serena's hand touched Daniel's cheek, making Daniel wake up from his sleep. The man felt warm on his left cheek as Serena's hand touched him. Daniel held Serena's hand which was still attached to the infusion hose with a look of disbelief.

“Serena ....” said Daniel in a very slow tone. A circle of tears also trickled down as she could see Serena open her eyes again. Daniel carved a beautiful smile on his lips.

Serena returned Daniel's smile with a small smile on her lips that still looked pale.

“Doctor,” Daniel said in confusion.

“I'll call the Doctor,” Daniel's face beaming.

Daniel ran quickly to the door to give orders to his men.

“Call the Doctor immediately! Serena is conscious.” Daniel turned his body back into the room.

“Good, Mr.” The bodyguard bowed respectfully before going to look for the Doctor.

Daniel touched Serena's cheek with a happy face, wiping away the dripping tear from her face.

“Darling, does it still hurt?” daniel asked with a sad face.

Serena shook her head slowly, without wanting to answer Daniel's question. His body felt weak and helpless at that moment.

One doctor and several nurses entered Serena's room. Daniel stepped back to make way for the Doctor. Daniel watched the Doctor who was now examining Serena closely.

Slowly, a nurse removed some tools from Serena's chest. Oxygen hoses are no longer needed by Serena. Now, Serena can breathe freely without any more obstacles.

“Doctor, is my wife okay?” daniel asked worriedly.

The doctor carved a sweet smile on her lips, “Nona Serena is already much better, Sir. Only recovery period only.” The doctor moved aside to make way for Daniel.

Daniel stepped slowly closer to Serena's body, “Honey, I'm so happy to see you open your eyes like this.” Daniel rubbed Serena's hair gently.

“I'm sorry, Sir. If anything happens, immediately call me.” The doctor smiled kindly.

“Thank you, Doc,” replied Daniel briefly, while returning the Doctor's smile.

The doctor and several nurses left Serena's room. They also returned to breathe a sigh of relief when they saw the condition of the patients they handled was much better.

In front of Serena's room, the Doctor's steps were restrained by Kenzo who had just appeared.

“Dok, how is Serena?” asked Kenzo with worry.

“Nona Serena is awake. It is much better.” The doctor smiled with a sigh of relief.

“Thank you, Doc.” Without waiting for long, Kenzo barged into Serena's room.

In the room, Daniel kisses Serena's forehead for happiness. His eyes were still glazed over from being too happy. Serena also smiled looking at Daniel at that moment. He slowly touched Daniel's face, which looked thin and pale.

“Are you sick too, Daniel?” ask Serena quietly.

Daniel grabs Serena's hand, “I'll be sick too, if you're sick Serena. I can get back to health, if I see you healthy.” Gently peck Serena's hand.

“Serena, are you okay?” ask Kenzo who just appeared in front of Daniel and Serena.

Serena smiled sweetly, “I've been much better, where's Shabira?” ask Serena while looking.

“Shabira is still on the roof with Zeroun.” Kenzo advanced his footsteps to approach Serena.

“You made everyone worry Serena. Why do you always protect a man.” Kenzo protested, he folded both his hands. Looking at Serena's face with a questionable face.

“In the villa you were also shot for protecting, Daniel. Serena, even if you're a martial arts lady. But, you're just a woman. Don't always be such a hero,” Kenzo said in annoyance. His heart was also wounded every time he saw his best friend was injured.

“Kenzo, you are this! why are you scolding my wife like that!” daniel's protest was not accepted.

“I didn't scold her, just gave her advice so she wouldn't be such a careless woman.” Kenzo looked away from Serena's face.

Serena carves a small smile, “It's not me who wants to do that,” Serena said quietly.

Daniel and Kenzo looked at Serena questioningly.

“Since childhood, I have never been able to see anyone close to me in danger. Even if that person isn't Daniel or Zeroun, I will protect him. If I'm close to that guy. I don't want to see anyone else leave. The sense of loss is much more painful when compared to the wound of this shot.” Serena recalled the time she lost Mr. Wang to the hospital forever.

“Serena, I'm sorry. But, I hope this is the last time.” Kenzo looked at Serena guiltily.

Serena replied to Kenzo with a sweet smile.

The door sounds open. Everyone looked towards the door. Zeroun and Shabira appeared from behind the door. Serena looked at Shabira's hand that was wrapped around Zeroun's.

“Sister, sister is awake?” Shabira took her hand off from Zeroun's body. Walk fast to Kenzo.

“Yes, is everything okay?” Serena looked at Zeroun's face that looked still pale.

“All is well, Brother.” Shabira carved a happy smile.

Zeroun did not want to get the word out. For her, seeing Serena re-open her eyes was already a happiness that could not be expected with words. Zeroun stood in front of the bed Serena looked at Serena's face carefully.

“Shabira, can I ask for help?” Serena looked at Shabira's face with a small smile.

“Sure. Brother doesn't have to ask. What can I do for my brother? did you know that bitch did all this? does Brother want me to take his life?” shabira asked enthusiastically.

“Shabira ...” say Kenzo and Zeroun together.

Serena chuckles, “I just wanted to ask you to bring Angel here. I miss him so much.”

“Angel?” ask Shabira slowly.

“Ya.” Serena nodded her head.

“Good. I'll take Angel to see Brother.” Shabira turned her body, walking towards the door.

“I'm coming.” Kenzo pulls Shabira's hand. He grabbed Shabira by the waist and took her away from the room.

Kenzo knew that Serena wanted to talk something important to Daniel and Zeroun.

The back door closed as Shabira and Kenzo disappeared from behind the door.

Serena tried to sit up from her sleep.

“Darling, what are you doing? You can't move much.” Daniel held Serena's body.

“I want to sit. Very bored lying down like this.” Serena kept trying to sit down.

“Let me help,” replied Daniel quickly.

Zeroun just silently looked at Serena's face. Breathing deeply as she looked at Serena's stubbornness back then.

“What like this is convenient?” Daniel gave a pillow to Serena's backrest.

Serena nodded quickly with a beautiful smile.

“Zeroun, how about your wound?” Before Serena closed her eyes she saw Zeroun get shot and fall to the same floor surface as her.

“It's been much better. You better think more about your health right now.”

“Zeroun, forgive me.” Serena looked sad.

Zeroun's heart was pounding very fast. She knew Serena wouldn't say sorry if it just happened at Laura's house.

What else do you want to say, Erena. Why is your life always full of secrets.

The man continued to guess the next sentence that Serena would say.

“What are you sorry for?” Zeroun looked at the faces of Daniel and Serena alternately.

Serena looked at Daniel for a moment, before looking at Zeroun's face again.

“I heard all the stories you said last afternoon, with Shabira.”

Zeroun carved out a thin smile, folding both of his hands. Staring at Serena's face with questions.

“Did you know something from the beginning?” Zeroun's eyes turned sharp.

Daniel watched Zeroun's gaze with anger. He wanted to fight back then too. All he still holds for the sake of Serena's health today. His heart was also shrouded in so great jealousy.

Serena shook her head slowly, “I don't know.”

“Do you know that Shabira is Zetta?” ask Zeroun full of probes.

Serena carves a thin smile, “I just found out this second.”

“You're hiding something Erena. I know the look in your eyes.” Zeroun firmly clenched his hands.

Serena simply remained silent without even wanting to say another word.

“You better not put pressure on Serena, Zeroun. Serena just regained consciousness. Doctor says, Serena can't mind much.” Daniel looked coldly at Zeroun's face. It was very desirable for him to expel Zeroun right then and there.

“You still owe me one explanation Serena. Whatever you say, I always believe it.” Zeroun twisted his body to leave Serena's room.

Serena just silently looked at the back of Zeroun who passed away.

“Darling, what happened? are there any secrets you're hiding from me?” Daniel held both of Serena's cheeks with a sad face.

“No,” replied Serena quietly.

Shabira and Kenzo went back into the room. Shabira did not bring Angel back then. Serena frowned questioningly.

“Where's Angel?” ask Serena quickly.

“He just slept. The nurse did not allow us to take her,” Shabira replied with a sullen face.

“There is still tomorrow,” Kenzo continued with a sweet smile.

“Shabira, do you remember the bodyguard who worked the longest for Queen Star?” Serena looked at Shabira's face expectantly.

“Sure, does brother want me to call him?” shabira asked unsuspectingly.

“Can he come here to see me?” Serena's face turned radiant.

“I don't know where that guy is. But, I will try to bring Brother together with that man. Did something happen?”

Serena nodded quickly, “Yes, there is one thing I have always wanted to ask her.”

“If it is very important. I'll be looking for him soon.” Shabira pulled out the phone from her pocket.

Serena looked forward.
