Marrying Mother's Mother's Mother

Marrying Mother's Mother's Mother
Chapters 155. The end of the Brenda story

“Mas, Mbak Brenda already ..”

Bella could not continue her sentence, she chose to shake her head. Her tears spilled instantly recalling their meeting a few days ago. The regret that had disappeared during these two days, in an instant reappeared. Regrets that turn into guilt.

“What's up, Bell?” ask Bara, curious. Bella's tears caused the man to panic. Bara sure is not good news that Bella received.

Bara's hand immediately took over the phone from his wife's grasp, figuring out for himself what happened until Bella sobbed.

Dad, Mommy just died.

A message that Rania sent. Short, but it shakes anyone who hears it. Emar's feelings are mixed. Trembling, his fingers dialed Rania's phone number to confirm her return.

The sound of a continuous tone flowed slowly until several times, until finally the call stopped changing the sound of sobs caught clearly in Bara's hearing sense.

“Ran, it's you Ran. You okay, Ran?” ask Bara impatiently.

“It's Stella, Mas.” A woman's voice came from across the phone.

“What happened, Ste?” ask Bara.

“Sister Brenda is gone, just left, Mas.”

Silent moment.

“Kak Brenda had a message. Please Mas Bara can forgive all his mistakes. Brother Brenda feels the most guilty as Mas Bara.” Stella sobs slowly.

“It has been a few days, Brother Brenda wants to speak directly to Mas Bara, but there is no chance. Before experiencing a coma this morning, had apologized to Mas Bara,” continued Stella. The woman was no longer able to speak, only able to cry.

Bara's feet squeezed instantly to hear the words that Stella said. His memories with Brenda turned back. From the beginning they met, dated, married until finally clashed and chose to separate. Especially the age of Brenda who is said to be young, the same age as him. It felt like refusing to believe, even though a few days ago it was faced with the fact that Brenda was very sick and had no hope of life.

Bara hugged his wife tightly. Channeling the feeling of being hit through the deck. Unlike Bella, the pregnant woman was crying so much that she could not make a sound. The two strengthen each other, sharing the burden.

“I ... I haven't apologized to her, Bell. I ... also haven't told her that I forgive her. Though these few days I wanted to talk to him, but I held back. I don't want to make a lot of hearts disappointed.” Bara held back a sense of regret that suddenly attacked his defense.

“I know him well. Lately, whenever I visited her, I chose not to approach her. Chose to stay away, but now I'm sorry, Bell. I should have said hello, at least greeted him for the last time.”

Unlike Bella, she was just crying and speechless. The pregnant woman was struck with guilt. In Brenda's last seconds, she was disappointing. He refuses Brenda's first and last request to her.

That afternoon the atmosphere of grief at Brenda's funeral was so felt. Just getting off the car, Bara and Bella were treated to a faint but heartbreaking sobbing. Bara's burly hand held his wife's affectionately, passing through the irregular grave to the point of the crowd of mourners dressed in all black.

A small drizzle hit the petals of frangipani flowers as if mourning accompanied Brenda's departure to her long sleep. Prayer strands were sent by mourners, delivering the deceased at the final resting place. The sadness was felt, as the footsteps drew near.

The couple had already brushed the way, leading the two towards the navel. Bara and Bella were a little late, when the funeral procession was almost over. The mound of land has risen with a sturdy standing headstone engraved Brenda's name there.

Not far from where she knelt, it appeared Stella was hugging her mother who was squeezed, barely conscious. There was no sight of Mr. Sutomo there. I don't know where the head of the family should be the reinforcement of these women.

“Mas, I accompanied Rania briefly,” whispered Bella, released from her husband's arms. Iba attacked the recesses of his heart. Bella sees herself in Rania. When his father died, that was what he experienced first. That's what he did, resting on his father's grave and not going home.

“Ran," said Bella quietly, standing next to Rania.

The girl looked up, looking at Bella with the netra caving the river. A second later, Rania had already scattered, hugging Bella's waist. Seeking strength from Bella's arms.

“Mommy,” he said softly, spilling his sadness. Her cry broke even more, as if wanting to let out her restrained heart.

“Yes, Mommy's coming. There's Daddy too. Don't cry anymore, darling,” said Bella, trying to cheer up. Removing Rania's face from her distended stomach, removing a trace of tears from the girl's face.

“Sorry, new Mommy can come now.” The two hands were tidying up Rania's disheveled hair, tucking it behind the earlobe. It was heartless to see the condition of Rania who had no one. The view at this cemetery made him rethink the last request of Brenda.

“Mas ...” Suddenly Bella looked back, when she found that Bara's arm was clutching her shoulder.

“Pity," whispered Bella without a sound, just a gesture of mouth only.

Bara just nodded. The man walked closer to the tomb. Composed next to the tomb Brenda is still wet and studded with red rose petals.

“Love, I'm coming. Sorry, I've been avoiding you lately. You know, I'm getting married again. I have to keep my wife feeling.”

“I don't hate you anymore. I've forgiven you. Since marrying Bella, I've learned to accept and let go of our past. Sorry, I opened my heart again. And right now, I love her, I really love my wife, Love.”

The man let out a heavy sigh, with his hands touching a simple gravestone, Brenda's name written there.

“Love, I can only reveal it now. Probably late. I'm sorry that during our marriage we made you cry and disappointed. I realized that I wasn't the only one hurt in our marriage. You must be hurt too. You must be disappointed in me too. I wasn't a good husband to you back then.”

The man's eyes condensed, enduring the turbulent taste in his chest. There are many words that he really wants to say, but now it is free. Brenda could no longer answer.

“Love, thank you for coming and filling my life. I will take care of Rania and your family just as you used to look after my mom and dad when I was in America,” Bara said in her heart.
