Culinary in Holland

After the tomb, we take care of the meal. Of course, the first thing is a culinary tour. Luckily, Arnold used to teach me Dutch.

Dutch food is not too foreign in my body. Except Zeeland Mussels or Zeeland Shells. This Dutch shell has a meat with a dense texture and is famous for being delicious. Zeeland mussels are usually enjoyed in a half-steamed manner with wine and served with dry bread. This dish is suitable to be enjoyed in the afternoon in the summer.

Because Zeeland's shellfish is one of the seafood foods that I think I should avoid even though it looks delicious.

There is one Dutch cuisine that is similar to Indonesian cuisine; Croquettes if in Indonesia pronunciation is changed to Croquettes. But it feels the same. And I ordered the meat-flavored ones.

Then after the snack, as an opening I ordered; Erwtensoep which is a thick soup typical of the Windmill Country. Ertwensope or ercis soup is a soup made from ercis beans. This soup is yellowish green even tends to be brown and textured similar to porridge. This soup also contains prei, potatoes, beef and chicken, and carrots.

If in Indonesia it may be similar to stew, the taste is almost similar, but if the sweet stew-this is a little savory which taste comes from the taste of Ercis beans.

There are also; patatje oorlog or war fries. That's the term for fries with lots of toppings.

Macaroni Schotel can be interpreted macaroni dishes served in containers. Similar to the French lasagna.

Even this typical Dutch blood soup I think is very good. It probably tastes almost the same as Saren.

Only, if the saren has been frozen, this is still in liquid form added with spices.

“ I want ice cream.”. After all this food I want sweet food.

There was no typical Dutch ice cream, so I only bought ice cream at the convenience store. It's okay, it's still good.

“ you don't see? Almost everyone wears a sweeter, because it's autumn and we're getting cold ourselves, but why can you still eat ice cream so relaxing?” ask Damien.

I was just bragging about enjoying this cold ice cream.

“I think the time pregnant you, your mother craved snowman.” Damien said.

Once again I chose to stick out my tongue.

“ he does not even wear jacket.” said Brian who seems to be unable to stand the cold air.

“ yes already, just go home. You guys are cold, I think.” said Arnold.

“ is not you think, we are cold.” said Brian complained.

“ thankfully my father's house has an automatic heater.” Arnold said leading me to the car he had rented. Or maybe he bought it?

I love Arnold's father's house. Minimalist but impressed luxurious. European housing with a lake in front of it. Almost all of the walls are made of wood. With room heater and chimney with fireplace to warm the room. Although I'm sure, it's just a decoration. Of course because I already feel this room is warm even though the fireplace is not burning.

“ it does use floor heater. So from the floor-heat goes up.”, Arnold said.

“ then what's that fireplace for?” my wonder.

“ my father was an imaginative man. It's inspired by the story of Santa Claus, so I remember every Christmas, we would put on socks and put them on this fireplace.” Arnold said.

“ maybe he wants to make you an imaginative child.” I said.

However, who doesn't like Santa Claus, I still wish Santa Claus existed and gave me presents every Christmas night.
