Motor Bian stopped in front of a seemingly new clinic.
"This is the place, Eve?" ask Bian doubtfully.
Eve looked once again at the address that Anggi gave her yesterday. The address is correct.
"Yes, Bang. It's here, indeed" Eve replied as she watched the building once more.
"But this is a clinic, Eve. You're not a doctor or a nurse" Bian said confusedly.
Eve hit the brother's back.
"Said Anggi, the owner of the clinic is in need of people to clean up. That kind of cleaning service," Eve explained to Bian, and the man immediately understood.
"Eve will go in and ask inside." Eve's been off Bian's bike. The girl looks once again at Bian's rearview motorbike to make sure there's nothing wrong with her face.
"Do you need to wait?" ask Bian again.
"If you have business, you just go away is okay. Eve can go home by public transport later," Eve replied in earnest.
Bian looked at his phone for a moment.
"Abang has to go to several restos to apply for a job. Is it true you're okay if you stay?" Bian was still doubtful.
"Yes, Bang! Eve's gonna be fine. Eve is no longer a child, Bang!" Once again Eve said solemnly and confidently.
Bian sighed, though,
"Well, be careful when you get home. And call your brother immediately if there's a problem!" Bian ruffled Eve's hair before putting her helmet back on.
"Abang ish! Eve's hair's falling apart again." Eve thaws while returning to tidying up her messy hair. Bian just chuckled and felt innocent.
After saying goodbye to Eve, Bian immediately put forward his motorbike left the clinic.
After the brother's departure, Eve immediately entered the whitewashed building.
But when Eve opened the door, a tall man, pure white and wearing glasses, suddenly appeared before Eve.
"Morning, miss. Can I help you?" Ask the guy friendly.
Eve slightly gaped as she looked at the man before her. Why is this guy so handsome like the ones in the novels Eve used to read?
"Miss?" The man wearing the striped shirt flicked his hand in front of Eve's face which looked gawky.
At that moment, Eve immediately woke up from her daydream, and,
"Eh, yes. I'm Eve sir. I'd like to apply for a job here as a cleaning service" Eve replied in slight hesitation.
Why is this clinic so quiet?
Did Anggi give you the wrong address?
The man frowned confusedly,
"Eve? Eve who?" Ask the man.
"Sa. I'm Anggi's friend, sir." Eve replied hesitantly. Maybe Eve really mis-addressed.
A moment later, the man immediately smiled warmly.
"Oh, so you're Eve Anggi's friend. Yes, I just remembered. Anggi called me last night. Why come so early?" The man's bland.
"Sorry, I don't know if this clinic hasn't opened yet" Eve replied softly, looking down in shame.
The man just laughed a little.
"All right, it's okay. But this morning I had an appointment with some patients at the hospital, so I haven't been able to interview you." The man in glasses said again.
Geez, why is this guy so handsome?
Eve will probably feel at home working here later if her boss is this handsome.
"Where is your house? Is it close to here?" Instead of answering Eve's question, the man asked back.
Eve shook her head a little doubtfully, though,
"My house is on Kalingga Street, sir" Eve replied. And the man was immediately surprised.
"That's far from here, Eve? What were you riding on?" Ask the man to worry. It could have been Eve coming home first, but it was a different direction to the hospital, and the time was not too much. He would be late if he had to take Eve home first.
But having this girl go home again, and then come back later, doesn't seem like a wise choice either.
"So I was escorted by my brother, sir. It's okay I'll go home on public transport and come back when you get back" Eve replied with a faint smile.
"No, Eve. That's too far. I also only briefly met a patient." The man seemed to think.
"Let's see, you go in first, and wait for me inside. You can watch tivi or sit down to eat a snack inside. I'll be back in maybe two hours" the man opened the clinic door and let Eve in.
"But, sir..." Eve was a little hesitant and scared of course. He was in a foreign clinic with a foreign man. Isn't it natural that Eve was afraid?
"It's okay, Eve. Come inside!" The man was a little pushy.
Eve finally complies and follows the man into the clinic which also seems to be the private home of the owner.
"Sit here, you can watch tivi. There is also food in the kitchen you can take as you like. No need to be confused. Anggi's friend is my friend too." The man shows Eve some room.
Eve just nodded even though the girl was still hesitating, why is this Anggi cousin so kind?
"Sir..." Eve was confused as to what to say.
"Steve's. My name is Steve and please don't call me sir. I'm not your master, okay!" Steve extended his hand and introduced his name to Eve.
"Doctor Steve, sorry. But there's nothing I can do while waiting for you to come back. I can clean up, or do the dishes, or any job." Eve was really not good if just sit in people's houses and wait for the owner to come back without doing anything.
Steve seemed to think for a moment,
"Well if you force it. Comewithme!" Steve gestured for Eve to follow Steve up to the second floor of the clinic.
Steve opened the door of a room. The scene that first captured by Netra Eve was a lot of books and paper scattered in the room. The room was really like a broken ship.
"Maybe you can clean it up while waiting for me to come back." Steve scratched his un-itchy head.
Eve nodded quickly,
"Alright, doctor. I'll take care of everything" Eve said later.
Doctor Steve smiled broadly.
"I'm going, Eve!" See Doctor Steve next.
Eve just nodded.
After the handsome doctor went downstairs, Eve rushed to finish the books and papers scattered in the room.
