The promise of childhood
"I'm sorry, Ga, I'll pick up the phone first." Ira answered the phone first. The one who called was Arvin.
"Yes, Sir. What's up?" ask Ira.
"Where are you? Look out, do not be far from the villa if the road. I don't want to have to look for you when you get lost later" said Arvin from across the street.
"Yes, Sir. I know, I'm not going all the way from the villa" replied Ira.
"Who? Arvin?" arga asked after hearing Arvin's voice at the other end.
Ira answered with a nod.
"You seem to bow to Arvin, are you afraid of him?" ask Arga to Ira.
"Not scared, but, um as long as I'm in this strange town she's the only person I'm leaning on. Yes, even though he sometimes cheated on me," Ira replied.
"Hey, what did you just say? Who's the bummer?" ask Arvin from the other end when Ira realizes that he has not ended the conversation with his boss.
"Eh, not sir. That's what the rickshawman was, '" Ira replied. "Nobody wants to say that anymore, right? I'm closing now, okay, sir?" Without waiting for an answer from Arvin, Ira had already pressed the red button on her phone screen.
"Oiya, you said that you met me when I was 6/7, right? If you know where and when? Honestly, I don't remember anything about you?" ask Ira. He tried to remember the incident when he was around that age. However, he did not get any picture.
"It's true that you forgot about it. You told me to promise."
"really? What did I tell you to promise?" asked Ira who was curious about the promise she once made as a child.
"You asked me to marry you when I grow up" replied Arga.
"What, I really told you?" ask Ira again.
"really. You even told me not to get close to another girl" replied Arga again.
"Am I like that too?" ask Ira again and answered with a nod by Arga.
"Yes, my God, it turns out I'm that thick. But why don't I remember it." Ira tries to go back to remembering the events of her childhood.
"Ohya, Arga. You're not like Mr. Lee in the drama, do you believe in the promise of a child?" Ira asked while looking at Arga.
"Unfortunately I believe. And that's what made me follow you here." Arga's reply made Ira instantly speechless. He did not know what to say anymore because he did not remember the promise he had said as a child.
"You don't worry, because you don't remember your promise, let's just say we're new. So, do not feel uncomfortable or uneasy because of the promise," Arga said.
"But, still. You came here because of that promise. I'm sorry, Ga, because I don't remember anything about the promise," said Ira, he felt bad for making Arga follow him to Jogja.
"Alright, I'll accept your apologies.... " Arga hung up her sentence.
"Originally what?"
"Originally today you will accompany me for a walk" replied Arga. "You don't have a job today, do you?"
Ira thought about Arga's request just now.
"How's it?" ask Arga again.
From a distance there was someone secretly watching them.
