As usual, Angel always prepared all of Louis's needs before work. Starting from clothes, bags, shoes, breakfast, even a tie that is worn, all Angel who takes care of.
Today is exactly a month ago the incident that left Angel down, missed. Louis can breathe a sigh of relief because now Angel is fine and looks calm.
“I leave first.” saying goodbye to Louis while peeping the top of Angel's head, then bend and kiss the flattened massage of his wife who is now, reply to him by gently rubbing his black hair that has been neat and in the pomade. “So good boy yes dear. Don't fuss, cassian mama. Take care of mama for papa.” whispered, then kiss again the stomach that now has a small occupant.
Angel smiled, then followed the movement of Louis who stood in front of him again. “Be careful. Do not speed the car.” said Angel told Louis who again nudged a kiss right on his lips.
“Of course dear.” Java Louis while rubbing Angel's stomach with a circular motion full of affection and tenderness. “Part yourself well. Remember, do not open the door for unknown people.” Louis orders Angel with serious remarks.
“Good lord Louis the most handsome in the world. The paper adek.”
Oh, my God, Louis is worried about it. He kissed Angel's lips again.
“I leave.”
Angel followed Louis to the door and let go with a wave of his hand and the sweetest smile he had. After that, Angel went back inside and started doing activities as usual. Clean the house, and rest afterwards.
The sun was already right overhead when Angel went out to buy something in a mini market not far from the apartment. He needs something to cook dinner for later. But, suddenly his phone vibrated, an unnamed number appeared on his display.
Angel tried to be indifferent, but the call would not stop with only four missed calls.
His steps again paused when his phone vibrated for the fifth time. The number was still in contact and Angel was upset himself, for that he answered and intended to ask the reason the caller contacted him many times and felt so disturbing.
“Halo,” greet Angel with a flat tone and a little kettle.
“Angel?”
Angel frowned. The voice he heard was very familiar in his ears. The sound is like ... Jenita's.
“Ya?”
“This is me, mother louis.”
Damn. His heart was racing fast. All of Jenita's bad words twisted clearly in her brain, making Angel feel uncomfortable.
“I-iya, mom. A-what's up, mam?”
For a few seconds, the voice call paused. Angel himself waited for what Jenita was to say next, until the voice was heard again.
“Can I not contact you?”
Oh, my God, that's not what Angel said.
“No, not so—”
“I want to meet you.” says Jenita ketus, cut off Angel's squeaking voice.
Angel is getting restless. The danger sensor in her is working fast, making all of Jenita's negative behavior towards her spin just like that in her shadow. What if Jenita did something to him, or to his son? Bad thoughts begin to fill Angel's mind because they feel threatened. He doesn't even know what to answer.
“No need to fear. I just want to have a casual talk with you.”
Angel squeezed the end of the large-sized t-shirt she was wearing. She is really afraid to meet Jenita who incidentally is the mother of her husband.
“Come home,” Jenita's pinta in a low tone of voice that Angel has never heard in knowing the woman. “I want to talk to you.”
“Ba-baik.”
Angel keeps her phone back, inhales and exhales it roughly, then takes a step back to the apartment before leaving to fulfill Jenita's desire to meet in the main house.
“No-why. Positive thinking alone, Ngel.” whispers to himself. He also changed his clothes with more polite clothes. Angel steps steady to meet Jenita.
***
The atmosphere was a little awkward when the daughter-in-law and in-laws sat facing each other in the spacious guest room of the Hutama family home. Jenita's gaze wasn't as shaky as before. Angel could see Jenita's now slightly tender gaze for her.
“What did you do here?”
Angel had a surprised look when Jenita suddenly made a sound.
“Bus mat, mam.”
“Jeez, why not take a taxi or pick up the driver? Louis can hang me if I know I asked you to come here and let you ride in public transport like that.”
“T-no, mom. He won't do that.” said Angel quickly, don't want any misunderstandings.
Jenita lowered her previously crossed legs, she picked up tea from the table and sipped it slowly.
Jenita cleared her throat, then asked in a stiff tone due to awkwardness. “So, how old are you now?”
“Check where? I have a good obstetrician's recommendation that Stefany used to treat Rebecca.”
For some reason, Angel's heart warmed. Despite being thin and stiff, Jenita was trying to notice him.
Oh God, thank you.
Angel's words of gratitude are spoken in the heart. He also held a smile on his lips because Jenita seemed to care about him.
“Eum, Tristan doctor also recommended us to come to Anita doctor. We have also come there.” replied Angel gently full of caution in speaking. She doesn't want to make the slightest mistake after Jenita slowly begins to open her heart to accept her and her child.
“Then, how did doctor Anita say?”
Angel dared to smile. “Healthy baby, mam.”
“Then you? Why is your body so thin?”
This time, Angel could no longer stem the joy in her heart. He ventured to raise his eyes and look at the bead of the mother-in-law's eyes.
“This is only because I have morning sickness, mam.” said Angel, saying, hiding the fact that Anita's doctor had told her that she was most likely suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum because Angel often vomited with intensity more than 3-4 times a day.
“Eat and drink a lot. Let you be healthy too.”
Anget smiled broadly. If Louis had come along, her husband would have loved to hear Jenita worry about Angel and her son.
“Iya, mom. Angel also has vitamins and never late to drink.”
Jenita nodded in understanding. Morning sickness was excruciating, she had experienced it twice. Robert and Louis' pregnancy was not easy. Jenita almost lost Louis at the time because she accidentally fell and bleeding.
“Take care of yourself and your fetus. Be careful when you do something. Don't do heavy work.”
Angel nodded her head with great enthusiasm.
“How is mama's health? Last time I checked with Tristan's doctor, he said if mom came to check up because—”
“I'm fine now.”
Angel grunts in relief. “Sgratitude.”
The atmosphere was again silent as the two people ran out of topics of conversation. Until Jenita's voice again interrupted Angel's hearing.
“Sorry, all this time it has made you difficult because I do not give blessing.”
Angel was surprised instead of playing and held her breath when Jenita re-opened her lips to talk.
“There is one thing that makes me not willing to let Louis go. It was related to the massalu who had happened to me first.” explained Jenita began to open the cause of her rejecting the presence of Angel on the grounds of social strata.
Then, why did Jenita's mother also try to match Louis if she did not want to let go of her son?
As read by Jenita, Angel was surprised by her mother-in-law who replied.
“I just don't want to be looked at one eye by someone else. And back then, Liana was the daughter of a successful businessman. But I realize now, he's no better than you.”
Once again, Angel felt like she was the luckiest woman given a gift by God, a Louis. All such trials have found a bright spot and solution. Jenita has opened her tight padlock, and let Angel into her life again.
“Thank you for your compliment. I'm moved.” Angel bowed slightly, which made Jenita stand up and walk quickly to be beside Angel, then rubbed her daughter-in-law's shoulders attentively.
“Ngapain you bent this way? Mama should have done that. Mama who has a lot of faults with you.” he said began to tear up when he recalled his mistakes to his own son, and good women like Angel before him. “Mama apologizes for ever rejecting you and not giving your blessing to both of you.”
Angel looked at her heart, then returned the hug she suddenly received from Jenita.
“Once again, forgive for your outrageous and selfish attitude mama—”
“Mama is not wrong. Angel and Louis the—”
“Excuse mom, yes?!”
Angel ventured to rub her mother-in-law's back in a doubtful gesture.
“No. Mama no need to apologize.”
This was the first time she had heard the roaring voice of a Jenita. The woman was caught in Angel's arms.
“All is well, mom. Louis also does not blame mama for things that have happened before, until now.”
Jenita knows, Angel just doesn't want to embarrass her by saying so.
Now, Jenita promises to love Angel, whatever the circumstances and the mass of women who have been willing to fight with Louis.
“Mama, bless you.” said Jenita who immediately also made Angel petrified in her seat.
He didn't expect, If Jenita would give her blessing, today. On the day of his birth.[]
