My Angel Baby's

My Angel Baby's
Grandpa Abra's Explanation

Abraham was relaxing by the pool reading the newspaper and accompanied by a cup of coffee and a snack.

Just yesterday the old man came home from Greenland after a week there with his wife and brought Lia a gift of frozen fish typical of the people there who actually did not really like Lia.

Slightly hesitant, Lia tried to approach her grandfather to exchange ideas. Because Lia feels, many things are thought of in other respects by dang grandpa to let people like Merryl can enter his company that is famous for professionals.

"What's up, Lia? Why are you looking at Grandpa with such a strange look?" abraham asked without taking his eyes off the page of the newspaper.

"Sit down!" abraham commanded again, for Lia only stood with doubt.

"Ehm, cake. Why can you hire a guy like Aunt Merryl in your office? Though he was impressed very, um, centil" asked Lia by lifting her middle and index fingers when she said centil.

"Haha... Actually, grandfather owes him a debt of gratitude, Lia" said Abraham, laughing, now his eyes look straight at the pool to remember his past.

"When grandfather was young, he was once plunged into a black valley by the efforts of grandfather who was on the verge of collapse" Abraham said.

"When Grandpa was hit by a gunshot wound by a notorious mafia gang that happened to be his opponent, Merryl was the one who took care of grandfather to recover because he found his grandfather who was unconscious that night" said Abraham.

Lia was very listening to her grandfather's story, because she thought it was very stressful like the story in an action film only.

"The days that grandfather didn't come home, and thankfully your grandmother was still willing to accept grandfather back after more than a month of grandfather's leaving were no news. Even through an injection of funds from your grandmother that makes the grandfather's company recover with a pretty steep road" said Abraham.

"Only for reasons of return, then the grandfather hired carelessly people like aunt Merryl?" ask Lia.

Hearing her grandson's words, Abraham understood that Lia was still not experienced enough to judge someone. And the appearance of yabg became the benchmark of Lia's current view.

"You'll know from experience that we can't judge people by their looks, baby. Because something that looks shiny does not necessarily mean if it is just an ordinary battery, but a jewel covered in mud will be more meaningful even though we still need to polish it first" said Abraham.

Hearing that made Lia think more deeply. Trying to explore the meaning of his grandfather's words that often provide puzzles in each speech.

"So according to grandfather, there's one thing in Aunt Merryl that grandfather thinks is profitable?" ask Lia.

"To be precise" said Abraham, the old man was happy that his grandson was critical-minded.

"With Merryl's style like that, no one would realize his real brain abilities were excellent. It's just that it's blocked by a piece of paper that we call a diploma" Abraham said.

"Thanks to Merryl, grandfather can find anyone who is truly sincere in his grandfather's company and who is only two-faced" Abraham continued.

"Somehow, Merryl was able to gather evidence of the betrayal of some people who cheated on grandfather and company. So, grandpa just think of her as a shabby Office Girl, hahaha. He's a lot of good, Lia. And most importantly, he was very loyal and trustworthy" Abraham said, ending the story of a Merryl.

"That's right, Cake. In the past, Gita also did not give a formal SD diploma because of bullying trauma. It was fortunate that he was still able to catch up after recovering from his trauma" muttered Lia who was still heard by his grandfather.

"Then what about Mr. Burhan who's a puffer and the sleepyhead's a cake?" ask Lia again, there might be another story behind Burhan's nature.

"Burhan wasn't like that, baby. He was very deft and good at martial arts and there were also some street science that he mastered. Grandpa recruited him also when the company was a little shrewd because he also had time to help grandfather" said Abraham.

"Somehow now he's that fat, and you know the fat man himself must be a hobby of sleep. Just let him be like that to spend a few years of time before he retires. Grandpa has prepared a pension fund for him" Abraham said.

"Actually grandpa was a little careless huh? The first time Lia met grandpa was also when grandpa was in the thugs' manger, right? Do you remember what happened in the park?" asked Lia who felt that her grandfather really had to be extra guarded.

"Hahaha, yeah. You're right, honey. Indeed, grandfather was a little careless even though people dubbed the golden-brained grandfather because grandfather's IQ was above average" said Abraham.

"But yes, you know every advantage there must be a drawback. And the excess IQ of this grandfather is also equipped with a deficiency that grandfather is a little careless" said Abraham while laughing, because it is not only Lia who says if the person is careless.

"You're right again, baby. Hahaha" Abraham laughed as Lia already knew the bad side.

"Thank you cake, now Lia understands a few things. That we can't judge people by their appearance, but by their personality. Second, more honest and loyal people than sycophants. And third, that behind every perfection there must be a weakness. Is that it, cake?" asked Lia asking her Grandfather's opinion.

"Really! You're very smart, son. Grandpa just wants to exchange stories with you. But grandfather didn't expect that you could take a lesson from every grandfather's utterance" Abraham said proudly.

The old man did not expect that behind the indifference but a little spoiled from his grandson there was a critical mind and there was a willingness to learn from trivial things though.

"Get along with a lot of people, Lia. Because of the variety of characters that you can learn to put yourself and take the positive side of every opportunity" Abraham's message at the end of the story.

"Don't be like the grandfather who used to be very arrogant and only use people for grandfather's needs to make many people feel disadvantaged and almost make grandfather fall poor after the death of grandfather's parents" said Abraham regretted his actions.

"And one of my grandfather's indebtedness to Merryl is also because he has managed to awaken grandfather to be better toward others and change the bad habits of grandfather who likes to carelessly treat others" continued Abraham.

"Yes cake. Now Lia understands and will try to be a better person so that Lia has many friends who are loyal to Lia. Like grandfather's wish" Lia said proudly.

Abraham smiled, he also felt happy because Lia did not go down his slightly arrogant nature in youth. And the regret that was present a little late still gave him the opportunity to improve everything from the beginning.

Abraham was convinced that the forgiving heart was the legacy of Viviane. A beautiful girl who once had disappointed him, but with open arms can forgive and want to be part of the Alexander family.

Although Abraham does not know if there are some conditions that Vicky must do as a consideration for Viviane to want to return to Vicky.

Lia's cell phone rang as Lia took part in the snack presented to her grandfather at the end of their meaningful chat.

Ken's name is on his phone screen, "Hallo, what's wrong, brother?" asked Lia while glancing at her grandfather who was impressed.

(....)

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about it. For a moment I get ready first and will immediately come to our important meeting yes. I can't wait to learn it" said the enthusiastic-faced Lia.

(....)

"Ok, bye" said Lia who immediately hung up the phone.

"Lia said yes, cake. There is business with Ken today" said Lia while picking one more cake from the serving plate, even Lia did not hesitate to ask for a little coffee from Abraham's cup.

"Thank you grandpa. Lia dear grandfather" said Lia while hugging her grandfather briefly.

Abraham could only smile. The warm feeling he had never gotten from a granddaughter.

And the old man was grateful for the chance to feel it.
