Maya smiled and waved her hand at a beautiful little toddler girl with two curls. Her plump body was clad in a white lacy red skirt, the path of the right and left is adorable.
“Chika...Don't disturb that sister!”a young woman ran to get the little guy's hand.
“Pardon my son yes Ma'am,”timpalya on Maya.
The little girl called Chika was tugging at the end of the long-sleeved shirt Maya was wearing. Wulan only laughed at the adorable snot boy's behavior. The head of the little girl who replied to him with a carefree laugh.
“Nothing really, Bu. We love playing with little kids,”sahut Maya who crouches next to Wulan.
The two girls were visiting a bookstore in a mall on Saturday night. Maya invites Wulan who that day happened to be on leave to unwind in the mall while looking for a new atmosphere. Both also have the same goal of reading for free medical books displayed on special shelves. The atmosphere of the mall looks crowded by visitors who want to spend the night with family, couples, or other loved ones.
The young woman then held her little daughter and kissed her adorable puffed cheeks. Chika cries and thrashes about wanting to return to her original place with the unknown Maya.
“She likes your shirt May time,”celtuk Wulan while standing up and walking towards the bookshelf.
Maya spreads her gaze toward the chest and then straight down examines each inch of her clothes.
“Nothing funny here,Lan.”
Suddenly Maya sees a cute bear-shaped keychain in the zipper of her bag, hastily removed the cute hanger and she runs after the little boy in her mother's sling.
“Eh wait! Where are you going, May?”asked Wulan with a raised voice.
“Wait there. I just for a moment,”sohut Maya while looking at her best friend.
The little girl kept crying in a sling, her little body flailing, while the mother held her tighter so that the boy would not fall. They walked to a restaurant nearby. A man with glasses was sitting waiting while playing his cell phone. Maya gasps in front of the little boy in a sling, the woman holding him stops her steps and turns her back towards Maya.
“This,Dek. Can I give this to my daughter?”
The young woman stared at the little doll held in the girl's right hand, perhaps just measuring how big and safe the toy was for the child. Before long, the woman had a smile on her back, her eyeballs shining, indicating that she was very happy.
“Oh. Please.”
The little girl received the keychain of the doll with lips forming a smile. Tears were still wetting both cheeks, but he was no longer crying.
“Come..Say dong. Thank you sister,”command the mother.
“Maacih,”tap the little boy in a soft and timid voice.
“Udah first yes,Dek. I went back to the bookstore. Bye..”
Maya waved at them, also towards the man who was sitting and staring at the incident.
Suddenly his mind feels sliced reminiscing about the state of Ryan who is still hanging in the ICU room even though his finger began to move when they did “video call”.
Seven months was not a long time, and they had already agreed to get married. It could be that Om Robert will rewind their marriage time if Ryan's condition is not possible.
“Where,May?”ask Wulan when Maya gets in front of him.
“She was happy. The crying stopped instantly.”
“That's how a child. Let's just go home, or still want to go around the mall?”
Wulan seemed resigned to Maya's decision that day, she seemed to want to please her best friend who was suffering from an accident experienced by her future husband.
“As of you,Wulan gorgeous.”
“Lho to me. Why should I decide?”
Maya chuckles, deep dimples are clearly visible on both sides of her cheeks that are pure white, a series of teeth that are shiny white clearly visible to the inside that is completely clean without holes. The girl is indeed perfect, most likely she will pass the auditions of girls who want to undergo the profession as a pilot or flight attendant.
Wulan felt disadvantaged considering the state of his teeth that often hurt in childhood, while his parents did not have enough money. Now his two molars are hollow, and often include hard food that tucks in. The teeth have not been patched until now and Wulan just remembered he had to patch it by setting aside some of his salary to go to the dentist.
“He deh. Let's eat first. Let me treat you. I just received a teaching fee from students who learn English online,” Maya explained at length.
Wulan simply nodded her assent, her lips turned a smile and her hands immediately grabbed the girl's hand to hold her. Both are very familiar and support each other in every activity, like brothers and Maya very lucky to get a new family in the boarding house.
Since Ryan's accident, Maya often prayed tahajud. She prayed fervently for God's help for the healing of her future husband. That way his feelings become calmer and confident that all these bad events will gradually improve.
The next night when Robert called her back, Maya picked her up and they made a video call. Same thing as the night before.
“Kasian Om Robert had to leave the office for almost two weeks waiting for Ryan who was still in a coma,”batin Maya while watching Ryan's body that was still rubbed on the ICU room bed.
On that occasion Maya told me stories as if they were reminiscing about the days of High School. Ryan seemed to shed tears, a sign he could hear all those stories. His fingers moved again, Om Robert quickly grabbed him and clasped his only son's hand with a loving look.
Suddenly Ryan as if opening both eyelids, the girl looked on with a hopeful feeling, her heart pounding harder, and right. He looked around him by turning his eyeballs up, to the right and left and then looked at his face. Maya felt very moved, she shed happy tears.
“Thank you God. Finally your servant's prayer was granted.”
Ryan looked at Maya's face through the screen, Om Robert looked happily, his lips smiling, a smile that seemed very sore, holding a cry of sadness.
That day, too, took note of it in the day, and made it the most historic day Ryan woke up from a coma for a dozen days. But it was also a tense moment to witness Ryan's next recovery. Is he able to walk normally or limp like himself a few years ago?
