My Brother's Bed Rattles

My Brother's Bed Rattles
Orphanage

Risa and Ayden arrive in front of an orphanage that Mr. Abdi and Ms. Lydia have mentioned before. The orphanage of Cahaya Asa, where Mr. Abdi and Ms. Lydia first encountered Risa when she was a baby.

Ayden exhaled deeply and grabbed onto Risa's silent shoulder at the door of the orphanage with a sad look on her face.

"Excite, Risa!"

Risa then smiled and followed Ayden's steps which now led her into the room.

"Good day, how can we help you?" greet one of the women in charge of taking care of and caring for the children in the orphanage.

"Ehm, can I meet with the caretaker? There is something very important, which I want to ask him," said Risa.

The woman nodded while smiling warmly. "alright. Wait here, let me call you."

"Thank you very much."

The woman immediately went to a room where the caretaker was located. While Risa and Ayden chose to wait in the room while watching the orphanage children who were playing.

"Oh my God, I pity to see them, Mas," said Risa with teary eyes looking at the children of the orphanage.

Ayden stroked Risa's shoulder. "Yes, me too. Oh yes, I want to buy something for them after all your business is done" Ayden said.

Right at that moment, the orphanage manager arrived in the room. A woman who is old, but still healthy and fit. The woman smiled then extended her hand before Risa and Ayden.

"Sit, sit! It's okay" the old woman said as Risa and Ayden stood up to welcome her arrival.

"Thank you, Mom."

Risa and Ayden were back in their previous positions.

"Can I help you?" ask the old woman. Still with a smile that kept floating on his face.

Risa took a heavy breath and tried to neutralize her mixed feelings back then.

"Look, Mom, 25 years ago my two foster parents adopted a baby from this orphanage and that baby was me. My goal in coming to this home was to find out who my real biological parents were" Risa explained.

The old woman was silent for a while while while watching Risa's sad face carefully. The old woman's face was wrinkled and she seemed reluctant to talk about it.

"25 years ago, it was a long time ago and I'm not sure the data is still there. If there is any, it is not that easy to tell it to others because this is very secret" said the woman.

"But I'm not someone else, ma'am. I was the adopted baby of this orphanage. Try to check the data, I'm sure it's still there. Anyway, what's my fault? I just want to meet my biological parents before my wedding day" said Risa.

The old woman took a deep breath and then exhaled her back. "All right then. Come here, follow me."

Arriving in that room.

"Come in" said the woman.

"Thank you" Ayden and Risa replied simultaneously.

The couple immediately entered and sat on the sofa in the room. Shortly after the caretaker's mother invited them.

While Risa and Ayden were waiting there, the housekeeper began to inspect the neatly arranged pile of old paper on the lined shelves.

"Who's your adoptive parents' name, son?" ask the old woman.

"Pak Abdi Kusuma and Ms. Lydiawati" said Risa.

"Abdi Kusuma" the old woman muttered while examining some of the obsolete files that were now in her hands. Until finally he managed to find the data belonging to Risa small.

The woman smiled widely and then approached Risa and Ayden while carrying the file in her hand.

"How, Ma?" ask the impatient Risa.

"These are the files you need, son. I hope this can help you find both of your biological parents" the caretaker's mother said.

Risa grabbed the file with a great shaking hand. He began to examine one by one the obsolete papers while reading them carefully until not missed in the slightest.

"Ara Widya?" said Risa with trembling lips.

He glanced at Ayden who was also expressing the same as himself. Surprised and began to think hard who the woman named Ara Widya. The woman who is believed to be Risa's biological mother. The woman who had willingly handed Risa over to the orphanage.

"Ara Widya," Ayden murmured while trying to remember. The name was familiar to his ears, but he was not sure that the woman in question was the same woman.

"Have you ever heard that name, Mom?" ask Risa to Ayden.

"Yes, I know someone who has the same name, Ara Widya's mom. However, I'm not sure she's the woman we're referring to here."

"Hmm."

Risa lowered her head facing the floor while letting out a heavy breath. He did not expect that it was not that easy to find the whereabouts of his two biological parents.
