Chap 44's

Kai's footsteps stopped in front of the brown wooden door. She can faintly hear Kevin's conversation with Doni, her father's personal assistant.

Kai has often heard the issue of the father's infidelity from many media, and none of them are recognized by Kevin. However, just this time, Kai heard his father justify the affair he had committed, even worse it resulted in a child.

"Alisa's not in Bandung." Said Doni at the time.

Kevin massaged his forehead, trying to reduce the dizziness that attacked. "Have you looked for him?"

"Even to the whole of Bandung." Doni pulled up the chair in front of Kevin's desk, then sat down opposite the man. "May I give you advice as a friend?"

Kevin then lifted his face, looking at Doni who was now looking at him seriously. There is no definitive answer, but Kevin's breath becomes the answer if at this time he really needs his best friend.

"Lupain Alisa, Kev. You're not the same as Morena? Or think of your child. Kai is already big, he already knows the macem thing like this."

"Gue can't." Kevin rubbed his face. "Alisa's pregnant, and I'm sure her son is now the same age as Kai. They're both my responsibility, Don. Seventeen years I've been off the responsibility."

Doni grimaced, looking at his best friend with concern. "Gue knows what you mean, but if the way I think gini continues, there is Rena same Kai will leave you, and what you dapet, only a much greater guilt. Forget about seventeen years ago, look at what's in front of you right now."

"Even my guilt will increase if every day that is in my head is only Alisa." Kevin took a deep breath while closing his eyes tightly. It all started with a mistake, and this second he really regretted it.

"Every malem of guilt always appears, and the contents of my head there is only Alisa the same child she bears." The dashed breathing seemed to prove that Kevin really felt the pain of harboring all that for seventeen years.

"Where are they now? How are they doing? I don't even know Alisa's messing with girls or boys. Seventeen years, Don, I live in guilt. I ignored Rena and Kai, until they got away from me, and guilt made me live in solitude."

Doni fell silent, looking at his friend who looked so frustrated. Behind the perfectionist attitude that Kevin had, the man turned out to be harboring such great pain. It looks so messed up and ruined.

Doni patted Kevin on the shoulder as he said, "Gue will help you, but only to find Alisa. For Morena's business with Kai, it's got to be you who gets it done."

Before this, Kai never cared about any problems that happened to his family, really. But today, when his ears accidentally heard all those conversations, there was a curiosity that he was eager to know. Who's Alisa? Where is he now?

"Om." call Kai when he sees Doni just crossing the living room to the door to get out.

"Oh, Kai. Oh my goodness, I rarely see you at home."

Kai just smiled stiffly in response to that. Don't want too many pleasantries, because there are other goals he wants to know right now.

"Om abis met papa?" Kai approached Doni who was already in the doorway.

Doni smiled wryly, showing some maps in his hands. "Yes, there's a document to sign with your papa."

"What document?"

"Haha... yes the company documents, besides you are growing it? Can't wait to replace your papa?" Reply Doni while joking.

"I'm not interested, um." Sela Kai's. "Papa has another child to be his successor."

Doni jerks. The man was surprised, but as much as possible he covered it with a laugh. "Well, what the hell are you talking about, Kai. Mr. Kevin's son is just you."

"Om sure you don't know?" Kai grinned, taking a step closer. "Kalo Alisa know? Or Alisa's son, you know?"

"Kai-y"

"It's okay, om. I've been kicked out of papa directly." Cut Kai. "So where are they actually? You know that, right?"

Doni threw away his sight. "I don't know what you mean."

Kai hissed, then laughed blandly as if he was mocking the old man in front of him at this moment. "Papa also ask om to hide them?"

Doni lowered his head while confirming the location of the slumped glasses from the nose. Whatever it is that Kai knows about the problems of his parents, Doni does not want to interfere, because the only one entitled to tell stories is Kevin, although actually Doni also knows exactly how the story is.

"It is not my duty to tell this matter to you. You better ask me directly to your papa, om can't tell any story."

"I just want to ask." Kai clenched both his hands tightly. "That kid, is he the same age as me?"

With hesitation and a slow sigh, Doni nodded confirming Kai's words.

"So it's been seventeen years" Kai screeched. "Wouldn't you hide this problem that long? Papa lied to me and my mom, and then decided to take them to this house."

It's sad, even though Kai can no longer call Kevin papa.

For seventeen years he lived the lie of his father, trying to be the best, but it turns out that all was in vain because it turns out Kevin's cold attitude to him all along was caused by the man's busyness to his wife and other children.

"So all this time papa's been busy having fun with other women and their children?"

"You're wrong." Kai looked at Doni. "Even papa you never know where Alisa's been all this time."

Today is the last day of the Mid-Semester Exam that must be followed by all students of Tunas Harapan High School. Likewise with an Emperor Wira Atmadja, grandson of the owner of the Foundation.

Meanwhile, Krystal had already collected her answer sheet after she finished working on the problem, although not as fast as Kai did.

"So well?" Krystal asked who stood against Kai. The guy replied with Deheman. "There are some things that make me dizzy. Especially about number five. You don't feel it either?"

Kai took out his hape from inside the jacket pocket, reading the message he had just received. His face was a little surprised, but Kai quickly typed in the reply message. "It's the same for me, it's normal."

Krystal was flabbergasted, looking up at Kai. "Seriously?"

The guy just nodded while staying focused staring at the phone screen in his hand. Krystal herself was actually too shocked, not because she did not trust Kai's abilities. But, the matter of the math test earlier did make his brain think a little hard.

"When did you study?"

"A week ago it was the same you."

"That day is all?" Ask Krystal to make sure.

Kai seemed to think while remembering. While Krystal next to him just stared in disbelief. "I remember that."

"I became curious, why your grades were always below average even though without learning you are already this great."

Kai chuckled, turning his gaze towards Krystal. One hand was raised to graze Krystal's hair and tuck it behind her ear.

"Maybe because there's you now."

"Because I'm your guide?" Kai nodded. "But there is or is not me, like the same. It depends on you, whether you want to learn or not."

"Without learning I can also be your rival."

Krystal snorted, staring at Kai with narrowed eyes. "Compense." The shock made Kai chuckle and Krystal laugh. "I'm curious about the results of Kai's exam this semester."

"Me too, can't wait to see you answer my request."

Both of Krystal's eyes were perfectly rounded, so she remembered their agreement when she was in Kai's class at that time, and instantly Krystal's face frowned. "I thought you forgot."

"You want that." Kai chuckled while putting his hape back in. "Announcement of the results of the test is the same as your birthday. Want to throw a party?"

Suddenly Krystal fell silent, the eyes that had been staring at Kai now turned and cheered. It was also observed by him. "I don't think it's necessary, I'd rather watch tv in your apartment. Your TV is big, so be happy to see it."

As he realizes the strangeness of the girl, Kai senses that something is covered up by Krystal, and he realizes it has something to do with both of Krystal's parents.

Not wanting to make the girl sad anymore, Kai then agreed to Krystal's request without asking. "Oh, okay, we'll buy pizza and watch tv."

Knowing that the man understood his current feelings, Krystal grabbed Kai by the hand to hold him. Meanwhile, Kai who was aware of Krystal's attitude suddenly changed like that certainly made him startled confused.

"Tumben want to go with it?"

"Yes.fear tomorrow can not hold Kai kayak gini's hand."

Kai was flabbergasted at Krystal's reply. "What the hell is that? You want to split up."

"It's not that." Krystal tightened her hand. "Say you're busy tomorrow to make a new poster? I just want to hold Kai's hand for a second."

The man chuckled, returning Krystal's hand tightly. It's like tomorrow they can't do this anymore. "Yaudah, if that's how we go home on foot so we can hold hands like this."

Krystal's face twinkled with a smile. "Will Kai?"

"For today." Reply with the same smile.

"Your motor?" Krystal asked confused

"I'll ask Chandra to anterin to the apartment."

Krystal whining. "It's okay? How did you get to Chandra?"

"Chandra likes to be troubled." Kai replied with a chuckle that also sparked laughter from Krystal's lips.

"Yes, uh.."

With a smile rising from his lips, Kai and Krystal walked towards the school gate, passed the parking lot, then greeted the Komar mang who was standing next to the gate. Their hands were still clinging to each other as if no one wanted to let go.

Along the way to the stop was filled with small talk that sometimes sparked laughter from Krystal and vice versa. They both looked so happy with their hands together.

Even the grip did not come off even a little when they were in front of the stop and wanted to ride the bus. The two hands are reluctant to be far apart even though they sometimes have to be separated because of the full of passengers who are jostling to enter.

And if they did not, they would quickly re-link their fingers. Just as when someone urgent wanted to get inside to make their grasp come off, Kai hurriedly took Krystal's hand and pulled the girl closer.

It is so simple and they enjoy it.
