To find a weapon Lewis tried to find a blacksmith because he thought he could buy a weapon while asking for a little modification later.
A few minutes after walking through the crowded market area, Lewis finally found a stall owned by a blacksmith.
Lewis approaches a stall guarded by a blacksmith himself. Lewis began looking through the various weapons at the stall and looking for weapons suitable for him to use.
Of the many weapons that are there, there is none that he likes even though the appearance is very striking though. Until finally he found a sword placed with broken swords in a barrel.
Lewis took the black sword that was still complete with the sheath and paid close attention to the weapon.
"Although it looks quite big it turns out that this sword is light as well..." Lewis muttered while swinging the sword in his hand. "Uncle, how much does this sword cost?"
The blacksmith who seemed to be fifty years old and was forging a sword then turned to Lewis.
"Ten gold coins, not including the scabbard!" Reply to the blacksmith who seems to want to commit fraud to Lewis.
Hearing the nominal that he had to spend just for an old and dusty sword of course Lewis felt cheated. "That's right. The price period of the sword was worn out like this ten gold coins and did not include the scabbard yet?!"
"Hey, kid... This sword is not just a sword. Although it looks worn and rusty but this sword was once used by a famous adventurer!" Said the blacksmith who tried to outsmart Lewis.
Lewis who used to work as an archaeologist certainly can not be fooled just like that by blacksmith. "Although it was once used by a famous adventurer though, it is useless if it cannot be used. Look, even this sword can't be taken out of its sheath, Uncle..."
"Curtain! You're making everything heavy, son... All right, five gold coins and you can take the sword away. How's it?" Blacksmith's speech.
For a moment Lewis thought about whether he would take the old sword or not because it was quite expensive with what he got.
[ KING! The host should buy the sword. There is something interesting about this sword itself and if Host buys it, then you will benefit greatly! ]
Hearing the words of the system certainly makes Lewis feel curious especially who commented on the sword itself is the system.
'What can this sword do. Even I'm pretty sure that if the sword is removed from the scabbard it will be broken?' Ask Lewis while weighing to buy it or not.
[ KING! The system will give one leak only to Host and the rest you can find the year yourself. This sword has resistance to all kinds of magic attacks! ]
Hearing that the sword in his hand had resistance to any kind of magic attack certainly made Lewis feel surprised.
Lewis did not expect that there was this kind of sword let alone left lying for a long time with other unused swords.
This discovery was like a jackpot for Lewis, because only by taking out five gold pieces, he could get a sword as good as this.
Lewis gladly took out five gold pieces and paid for the worn-out sword before leaving the stall.
The blacksmith immediately smiled cunningly and did not think there was still someone who would be consumed by his foul intellect, even though in this city he was very famous for cheating buyers.
The blacksmith is not aware that he is actually the one who was harmed in this transaction, because he did not do research on the obsolete sword that has been in his shop for more than 20 years.
The fifty-year-old man, getting the old sword while still an adventurer and accidentally getting it in a dungeon.
At first he was very happy, but because he could not find the function and could not pull the sword from the sheath, the blacksmith finally just save it.
On the other hand Lewis who greatly benefited was happy even though now the black worn sword in his hand could not be removed from the scabbard.
"If it can dispel all kinds of magic attacks, it feels like it's enough for me..." Lewis muttered as he hooked the sword sheath on his hip before running towards the arena where the fight was held.
Once there Lewis was amazed to see the appearance of a Colosseum similar to in Italy. Lewis smiled broadly and immediately rushed towards the registration venue as he saw the match soon to begin.
Not only among men who follow this fight, but also the female adventurers who seem to want to vote for the fate there.
After waiting about ten minutes it was Lewis' turn to register. Lewis was asked to pay a fee of five gold coins to the administrator.
The price is fairly expensive to register, but clearly the life of each participant who signs up is the bet. It's like you have to pay for your own death.
But obviously Lewis and the other participants do not care about it, as long as it is a winner then all this will pay off and can change the fate of their families.
Once inside, the roar of the audience immediately sounded loud in Lewis's ear. There were thousands of people from all walks of life ranging from nobles to commoners who would watch this gladiator fight.
Before ascending to the arena, Lewis was given direction by a soldier to gather first with the other participants.
Lewis was astonished to see a ten-year-old participant sitting alone and looking nervous.
"What are you doing here, son?" Lewis asked while sitting next to the nervous looking boy holding a dagger.
Seeing a mysterious man approaching and sitting next to him, made the boy become even more nervous especially when he saw the sword carried by the mysterious man.
To the little boy himself even though the sword carried by the mysterious man beside him looked worn out, though, but he was sure that it was no ordinary sword especially when he saw the appearance of the mysterious man himself who looked like a wandering adventurer.
"Sure to follow this match, Brother..." The boy answered nervously as he watched Lewis' sword.
Lewis laughed at what the boy had just said, not expecting that a ten-year-old would follow such a dangerous fight.
"Not that... I mean, why would you want to go to a dangerous game like this. Do you have a reason to follow him?" Lewis asked while watching the other participants for analysis.
The little boy who had the name Alvin immediately became moody when asked why he was following this match. "Actually I was forced to take part in this match, because it took money to buy the medicine of my sick friend. Sis..."
"Hm? Then why don't you just use the registration money to buy your friend's medicine instead of putting your own life at risk?" Lewis asked in surprise.
"The price of one healing potion is very expensive in the store and I don't have that kind of money. To get the registration money, I had to work odd jobs for a year..." Reply Alvin with a smile trying to stay strong.
Feeling that something was awkward, Lewis was of course curious about the parents of the little boy who allowed their son to work and even follow dangerous matches.
"Where are your parents going until you have to work and allow this kind of match?" Ask Lewis who felt sorry for the little boy.
Alvin tries to keep a smile when asked about his parents by Lewis. "My parents were adventurers and they were dead on a mission outside the city. I can't even see them one last time..." Reply Alvin with a trembling lip.
Realizing that the child was feeling sad, Lewis patted the child's back gently and tried to calm him down from crying.
"Sorry to remind you of your parents again. My name is Lewis, what about you?" Lewis.
"Alvin... Alvin Edgar's..." Reply Alvin with a trembling voice while trying to refrain from crying. Honestly, this is the first time Alvin has found anyone who seems to care about him since the death of his parents.
For more than a year Alvin is forced to face the rigors of living in this very dangerous world, where death is natural for everyone.
"Alvin Edgar... If you can know what abilities you master to dare to follow in this fight?" Ask Lewis.
Alvin happily shows Lewis a trick where he can channel the electricity that covers his small knife.
Seeing the tricks shown by Alvin certainly makes Lewis feel amazed, even the system also seems to be amazed by the ability of the ten-year-old little boy.
[ KING! The magic element possessed by this child was extremely rare Host. Out of every ten million people, only one of them possessed a Thunder Element! ]
