Death before the eyes

The heat Lewis felt all over his body made him feel like he was burning in lava liquid on an active volcano.

Slowly Lewis's eyes began to turn a purplish-colored glow. Thin strokes gradually resembling black veins, began to spread across Lewis's face.

Black smoke suddenly appeared around Lewis and wrapped the man's body tightly, before finally disappearing along with the burst of energy that came out of Lewis' body.

The incident instantly rendered Lewis unconscious for an hour. The condition of his body that had previously undergone changes, looks now back as usual and leaves no injuries.

Some time later Lewis finally regained consciousness and felt his body was no longer burning, but he now felt his throat was very dry which made him thirsty.

Lewis's gaze then turned toward the black box near him. Lewis clenched his teeth and picked up the black box. "It's all your fault basic useless thing!!!" Lewis said furiously before throwing the black box away from him.

Lewis really did not understand why he had previously chosen a black box containing a problem-maker candy.

What Lewis did by throwing the black box didn't seem very good. Suddenly Lewis felt the area around him shaking violently.

Until an unexpected event occurred in front of Lewis's eyes directly. The black box that he threw thirty meters away actually caused a calamity for himself.

The sand around the black box was immediately sucked down, moments later a giant worm monster appeared that swallowed the black box black.

As soon as it swallowed the black box, the giant worm monster returned into the ground and made Lewis who saw it become very surprised.

Lewis suddenly became cold sweaty, his body looking pale and trembling violently. Even to stand up now he seemed to have great difficulty due to his trembling legs.

'That worm that I saw earlier from the mirror earlier, why is it here?' Inner Lewis who still did not expect to meet a giant worm monster when he just arrived in the Eternal World.

Feeling something strange, Lewis then tried something new to prove the theory in his current head about the appearance of a giant worm monster earlier.

A rock the size of Lewis's hand took it and threw it away. True as what Lewis thought, when the stone touched the surface of the sand a giant worm monster immediately appeared and swallowed it.

'The old man seemed to want to make me instantly die a second time!!!' Lewis's mind in the face of death is before his eyes.

Unwilling to suffer a painful death by being grinded using hundreds of spiky teeth resembling thorns in the mouth of a previous worm monster, the, Lewis immediately turned his brain to find a solution to survive the heat of the desert and worm monsters that shadowed him.

'If not mistaken it seems like the giant worm was very sensitive to vibration. I hope this is true...' Lewis' mind was about to try out his new theory again.

Lewis carefully began to walk by dragging his feet to always stand on the ground. Feeling that there was no movement from the monster, Lewis finally continued walking that way through the desert.

The scorching sunlight made Lewis even more troubled. He was already completely thirsty and could faint at any time, which would be very dangerous because it provoked the attention of worm monsters.

But as far as the eye could see, Lewis did not find a settlement or at least an Oasis for himself to rest.

This incident obviously made Lewis a little frustrated and had thoughts of committing suicide, but a glimmer of hope appeared when he saw the former convoy of horse carriages that had previously been attacked by worm monsters before.

Lewis immediately drank the water supply and also the dry bread that he found greedily as if he had never eaten for a long time.

While enjoying the food Lewis's eyes immediately combed the surrounding area. "Where are everyone, why aren't any of them left. Not even a piece of their body existed?" Lewis Mumbled.

When looking at the condition of the wreckage of the horse carriage, Lewis' eyes accidentally saw a sparkle coming from gold coins not far from him.

Curiosity in Lewis immediately appeared when he saw a piece of gold coin lying on the ground. He then put down his food and ran to get to the gold coin.

But due to the vibrations caused by Lewis when running immediately provoked the attention of giant worm monsters. Seeing the monster that was pointing at him from a distance, Lewis immediately stopped and was confused between having to run or take the gold coin first.

"Hey, if you don't want to die now it's better to go and leave that piece of gold coin..." Someone's voice was immediately heard in Lewis's ear.

Hearing the whisper of the voice Lewis immediately turned to look around to find who the person who had just whispered to him.

"Who is that?!" Lewis cried out in panic while trying to find the whereabouts of the person, who was not visible at all.

"We meet later, you better run now if you don't want to die chopped by the worm..." Reply to the mysterious voice casually.

Lewis clenched his fists and immediately rushed away without even glancing at the slightest bit of precious objects that were in the wreckage of the horse carriage.

The place where Lewis had rested earlier was now instantly devoured by the monsters chasing him from behind without leaving anything behind.

Lewis's face grew pale when he saw the monster was now not far behind him. If he stumbled just once, then it could be certain that it was his last move in the Eternal World.

"Dam! Can you help me. I could die now!" Shouted Lewis in a nearly exhausted and hoarse voice.

"You still have your hands and feet intact, use them as best you can and don't ask for help..." Reply to mysterious sounds.

"But I want to die now! Help me!" Said Lewis who was furious with the whisper of a mysterious voice in his ear.

The mysterious voice no longer seemed to pierce Lewis' words and chose to remain silent which made the man even more frustrated.

Until in the end because too tired to run Lewis finally fell and made his body roll over the mountains of sand.

Lewis coughed and looked up at the sky. He was now completely resigned to his death and waiting for a giant worm monster to eat him alive.

Lewis' body trembled as the arrival of the giant worm monster drew closer and opened its mouth wide.

The man closed his eyes and prepared for his death. But after waiting for a long time, he had not felt the slightest pain.

Feeling awkward about this incident Lewis then opened his eyes and saw that the giant worm monster suddenly stopped moving before diving back into the sand.
