The night is not too late. Time just showed the number ten nights. But the cold already feels prickling skin pores. Dressed in an elongated and white nightgown, Roosje slipped out of the house. Take a quick look at the situation ahead, to make sure someone is there. Until then, almost the girl receded back once a reddish-white male figure came closer.

"Ah, you're Gert!" serami Roosje was aghast. "I think who showed up."

The man saluted with an expressionless flat face. "Welterusten, Mevrouw Roos" he said as he approached. "What do girls do nights like this? Is there anything I can help you with, miss?"

"Ah, what a coincidence then, Gert," Roosje said like a durian fall. "Ummhh ... have you seen Ki Praja?"

"Maybe it's in the back, miss. Usually at times like this, Ki Praja is taking care of the horses."

"Oh, then, please take me back, Gert."

"Alright, Miss," replied Mr. Guus' personal bodyguard without any further refutation or questioning. He allowed Roosje to walk first, then followed from behind while watching the atmosphere around.

Not long after, the two arrived at the stables area. Sure enough, from a distance, an old figure was there.

"Oh, Miss Roos and Mr. Gert" Ki Praja said as soon as he noticed someone was approaching. "Good night, ladies."

"Good night, Aki," Roosje replied with a beautiful smile. He looked back, and said to his guard. "You can get back on duty up front, Gert. Let me and Aki here."

Gert seemed hesitant to leave Roosje alone there with the horseman. "Uummhh .. how about if Mr. Guus finds out en looking for Miss?"

Roosje smile. "Let's just say, I'm here with Aki Praja, Gert. You alone must come, not Papa who invites. Youunderstand?"

"Of course, Miss Roos," replied Gert obediently. "Then, I ask permission to stand guard in front of the house, Miss."

Roosje nodded.

Then the tall, well-built man saluted and rushed back to where he had originally served.

"Ah, Aki ..." said Roosje while looking for a decent place to sit there. "I'd love to talk to Aki."

The old man gave a proper place for the seat of his master's daughter. "What does Miss want to talk to me about? Is there anything so important, that Miss came to this dirty and smelly place? Is that a wild horse?"

Roosje smiled as she occupied the seat that Ki Praja had prepared. "A lot and a long time ago Aki wondered. While I sit still trying," he meant to joke. Welcomed to the old figure while taking a standing attitude, not how far from where the girl is. "Sit, Ki. No need to stand like that. I want to have a long conversation with Aki tonight."

Aki Praja looked doubtful. But from Roosje's speech, he suspected that there was something important that would be conveyed or questioned by Mr. Guus's daughter. So the old man took his own place which was lower than the seat of his master's son.

"What would Miss Roos say?" ask Ki Praja while cross-legged.

Roosje took a breath, then began to speak again. "This is about a young man who drove me a day ago" he said, recalling the incident.

"Who's the young lady you mean?" ask Ki Praja confused.

"Hanan's name."

"Hanan?"

"Hananta Adiswara's. If it's not wrong, it's his full name" Roosje replied after recalling.

"Hananta Adiswara's? A moment .. I think I know, but …."

"The mother was named ... Sum .. Sum .. Sumarni, Sumarsih, or—"

"Sumiarsih means Miss?" ki Praja Terka.

"Aahhh, that's right," Roosje timpal flicked his fingers. "Sumiarsih's. That's-her-name. Papa mentioned the name when Hanan answered Papa's question. Sumiarsih ... Aki knows these names?"

Ki Praja nodded. "Of course, Miss. Who does not know Sumiarsih. She was the widow of the late Juanda, the famous landlords when she was alive."

"Specifically about his son, as far as I know .. he has long gone to Jakarta to study," said Ki Praja did not know exactly the figure he meant.

"She came home a day ago, Ki. A Doctor anyway."

"Home home? A Doctor? Ahh, time passes quickly. It felt like just yesterday that me and Juanda let the boy go" Ki Praja looked surprised. "If it's not wrong, her age must be comparable to Miss Roos."

"That's possible. It could be the same age as Kervyn."

"Kervyn's? O, yes .. Miss Roos' fiancee, isn't she?" ki Praja throws a smile.

Roosje blushed in shame. "Continue saying Aki earlier. I want to hear more about Hanan .. uh, I mean .... Hanan family." Quickly the girl corrected her sentence. Pretend to look the other way to avoid old Ki Praja's eyes.

"He-he-he." The old figure curled and Roosje was in no mood to question it. Worried will also discuss the change in skin color of the cheeks of the girl. "Miss wants to know about Sumiarsih or her own Hanan?"

"Forward Aki's story."

"Oh, okay. Uummhhh .. Where did I talk, huh? Ah, forgot." Ki Praja knocks on the head.

"Hanan escorted Aki to Jakarta," Roosje said. "From Aki's remark earlier, it seems that Aki also knows her ex-husband Sumiarsih earlier? Is that true, Ki?"

Ki Praja raised her head. Staring at the black-looking stables ceiling. Like taking a recording of an old story that is rarely remembered.

"Yes, that's right, miss," the old man replied. "Before moving back to work for Miss's father, Mr. Guus, I used to work at Juanda. At least I know how the family is."

"Oh, I just found out about it, Ki," Roosje said flabbergasted. "I've also worked with that Juanda man."

"Yes, just a while. Not so long, Miss."

"while? What is that you mean, Aki?" Roosje started to get curious.

Lecar asked the girl, making Ki Praja seem confused. He seemed to have just realized, something was wrongly done.

"Aahhh . uummhhh .. p-long story, Miss. W-but obviously, I prefer to work here. Therefore, I also decided to return with Mr. Guus," replied Ki Praja trying to shift the direction of the conversation.

"Oh, is that it?" The girl was slightly affected by the move made by Ki Praja. "Then regarding Hanan herself, what does Aki know about that man?"

Ki Praja breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment he glanced at Roosje, then prepared to be revealed again. 'Hhmmm, many times Miss Roos wondered about the young man? Does that mean this girl likes him?' ask in the heart. 'This is something that is not good for Mr. Guus. Worrying one day, will cause new problems again as it once did.'

"I don't know much about Hanan yet, Miss. Please forgive me," replied Ki Praja. "But if Miss really wants it, I'm willing to find out new news about the young man as soon as possible."

"Hhmmm, I will wait for it with pleasure, Ki," said Roosje accompanied by a smile. En ... what is it—"

At that moment, suddenly appeared the figure of Gert. Scurrying closer to the stables. "I'm sorry, Miss. Mr. Guus was looking around for Miss Roos at home" he said after saluting first.

'Ah, thank goodness .. it was lucky that Gert came, ' muttered Ki Praja. 'So I don't need to tell you much about that fucking family anymore!'

"I have to come back soon, Ki" Roosje said as he prepared to leave. "But remember, I will collect Aki's promise that Aki just said."

"I-iya, t-of course, Miss. I'll start trying" said the old man after standing up and saluting him.

"good. Thanks for the conversation, Ki. Good night."

"Good night too, Miss Roos."

Roosje hurried to leave the stables. Tightly escorted by Gert walking firmly behind the girl.

Ki Praja stroking chest. Relieved. But he regretted something that he should not have said in their conversation.

"Never give an appointment to my daughter, Ki."

The old man was surprised. Soon he turned towards the origin of the voice of someone who came suddenly.

"Geez!" exclaimed Ki Praja as soon as he saw who the figure who had just approached. "Master?!"
