Chapter 69: Begging for Mercy

"Ruoyan, you're here!" Madam An smiled at Yun Ruoyan as she approached. "Hurry, sit."

“I heard Grandma was coming, so I wanted to have some fun. Is he still not here?”

“He plans to come, but once he comes out of his room, the heat makes him dizzy.” Yun Ruoyao jumps in.

"Oh, so?" Yun Ruoyan was still smiling beautifully. “Mother, today is very warm and stifling, there is not even a breeze. What makes you think of having a meeting in this pavilion?”

"Aah!" Madam An sighed. “It was because of Ruoyu, of course.” He looked towards the sullen and reserved Yun Ruoyu by his side. “According to Ruoyao and Qianying, on the day the crown prince came to visit, it was in this pavilion that Ruoyu angered you. These past few days, she's been bothering me to get a chance to make peace with you.”

Madam An handed Yun Ruoyan a cup of cold tea. He picked it up and held it for a moment before putting it back on the stone table.

"We're all brothers, and there's no need to be that formal" he replied coldly.

“You're a generous girl, Ruoyan, but there's such a big difference in status between the two of you that Ruoyu must definitely apologize officially. After all, the Yun family has always been strict in terms of politeness.”

As soon as Madam An finished speaking, Yun Ruoyu stood up and walked to her brother's side. He lowered his forehead and spoke, “I brewed this honey bayberry tea for you, Sister. If you really don't blame me anymore, please drink."

His eyes were fixed on the teacup in his hand. It was a glass-coated porcelain cup on which was painted a white lotus, and on one of its petals was a bright red dragonfly.

Yun Ruoyu could not help but think back on that night, when Madam An gave her the same red bottle.

“This is a poison made from the Wu kingdom in the west. It is a slow-acting poison that will slowly seep into a person's body. Within a day, symptoms would appear on his body, his skin would swell and itch, and his organs would slowly rot. In two weeks, he will die with his body turned into mud.”

Upon hearing Madam An's poison introduction, Yun Ruoyu immediately felt the bright red bottle burning, burning her skin.

“Birthmark of the girl has already rotted once. Even if it is better now, there must be a scar left behind, and it will be the most sensitive and weak part of his body.” Madam An spoke casually, as if she was discussing the latest fashions. “Once the poison strikes, it will spread starting from the birthmark on his face. Even he would think there was a problem with his birthmark, let alone the others, so you have nothing to fear. Be careful, if the poison comes into contact with your skin, it will almost certainly leave a scar!"

“Ruoyan, if you do not drink the tea, does that mean you will not forgive Ruoyu?” Madam An sighed as she saw Yun Ruoyan had no intention of taking the teacup once more. “Then, then I can only punish him according to our family rules.”

Yun Ruoyan smiled, her hands moving as if picking up a teacup but instead patting her hair. “Then, Mother, please punish him.”

Madam An did not expect such a response, and she came to a halt.

"If there's nothing else, Mother, I'll leave now." Yun Ruoyan stood up and prepared to leave, but Yun Ruoyu could not let him do it! He had fought long and hard before finally deciding to follow his plan, and it had to pay off. Next, the party saw the empress flower staying a few more days. If he missed this opportunity, there would be nothing else he could do.

"Ruoyan sister," Yun Ruoyu immediately took out a teacup and followed her.

As if knowing that she was going to chase after him, Yun Ruoyan suddenly turned around, the thin summer dress she was wearing swirled around with her. It flared as he sent a pulse of spiritual energy to Yun Ruoyu, struck by what felt like a sudden gust of wind, he lost his grip on the tea cup in his hand, and it spilled into his body.

A cold and sticky tea dripped onto Yun Ruoyu's neck.

“Ahhhhhhhh!!” He shouted loudly. In the quiet summer, the frightened voice of Yun Ruoyu walked far into the distance.

Matriarch Yun rested on a stretcher. He had just been brought through the entrance to the park when he heard a shrill scream. He frowned as he looked towards Peony, who was holding an umbrella for him by his side.

Matriarch Yun had just taken a nap when the Peony went to look for him. She tells matriarch Yun that her employer wants to invite her to the back garden for a show. Matriarch Yun agreed without asking any questions, but she did not expect to hear any commotion before she saw him.

“Mother, mother, quickly, help me remove it! It stuck to my skin!” Yun Ruoyu jumped up and down, tears streaming down her face as she ran towards Madam An.

"Don't come, don't come!" Madam An's face trembled as she hurriedly ran away from him.

“Sister, sister, save me! I don't want any scars!” Yun Ruoyu instead turned towards Yun Ruoyao.

"No, no, stay away!" Yun Ruoyao's expression paled as Yun Ruoyu chased after him, making round after round around the pavilion.

"First Lady, are you okay?" The servants accompanying them were all very confused by the commotion, and the heavy summer atmosphere turned boisterous.

"What the hell is going on?!" It had been a long time since matriarch Yun saw such inappropriate behavior in her own household, and she was furious. He tended to speak softly at his advanced age, but this shout was so loud that everyone within the pavilion fell silent.

"Grandma, save me!" Yun Ruoyu hurriedly ran towards him.

Yun Ruoyan took two steps forward, stepping between her and her grandmother. With both hands clenched behind his back, he raised one leg and kicked Yun Ruoyu's chest.

Yun Ruoyu felt a powerful force pushing against her body. It didn't hurt too much, but he couldn't control himself as his body flew into the air and landed in the pond with a large splash of water.

In the middle of the pavilion, matriarch Yun sat on a stone bench. Yun Ruoyu knelt by her feet, her clothes drenched.

"Grandmother, please call a healer to save me!" His skin felt extremely itchy at the place where the tea came into contact with him, and he could not resist the urge to scratch himself.

Matriarch Yun could not bear to see it. He asked his maid, Xiao Lan, to call a doctor before turning to Madam An and asked coldly, "Tell me what happened!"

"Mom, I don't know either!" Madam An's face was a symbol of worry and anxiety. He claims that he just wants to help the two girls reconcile, and he also has no idea what is going on. In a few sentences, he freed himself from that failure.

Yun Ruoyu's chest was numb, her heart was pounding. With teary eyes and disbelief, she looked at the mother who had always loved her, not daring to reveal the truth.

Ever since she was a child, she was stubborn and strong-minded. Her biological mother had no power to protect her, and she had always been protected by Madam An. He did not dare to imagine what his life would be like in the Yun family if he did not have the protection of Madam An, or the support of his sister Yun Ruoyao.

“Ruoyu? What the hell is going on?" Matriarch Yun pinned it with a gaze.

Yun Ruoyu only trembled as she lowered her head, unable to say a word.

"Ruoyu, why don't you admit it?" At this point, Yun Ruoyao spoke up. “Grandmother, Ruoyu was temporarily blinded by her emotions. Please let go of him.”

Yun Ruoyu turned her head towards her good little sister, a series of complex emotions flowed from her heart and turned into tears. Nevertheless, he gritted his teeth, not speaking a word.

“If he doesn't want to say anything, then do it, Ruoyao!”

Yun Ruoyao looked at Yun Ruoyu grimly. “Last night, Ruoyu said she had interesting things to show me.”

"What thing?"

“Red bottle contains powder that makes the body itchy. I didn't expect him to pour that powder into the tea he made, and I imagined he was doing it just to prank Ruoyan.”

"Oh, so? Itchy powder?" Yun Ruoyan laughed coldly. “Where is the powder now? Ruoyu, can you show it to me?”

"I-no more," Yun Ruoyu stuttered as she raised her head. “Not much to start with, and I have used them all. Grandma, I know I have made a mistake, ”Yun Ruoyu started to cry softly as she knelt once again at matriarch Yun's knees. “I dare not do it again, Grandma.”

"Again?!" Matriarch Yun's face flushed red. “I really haven't disciplined all of you like I should. How dare you try to sedate your own sister! This time, it might be a joke, but what next? Something that would poison him to death?!”

“I don't dare, Grandma, I don't dare!” Yun Ruoyu continued to groan, her hands still unceasingly scratching her neck. His originally slender and white neck was now pitted against a bloody impression.

“Mother, Ruoyu is young,” Mistress An pleaded. “She also suffered as a result of her own actions, so please calm down and save her this once.”

"As her mother, you must also take responsibility." Matriarch Yun glanced at Madam An suspiciously. “He didn't hurt me, but Ruoyan. Why don't you ask Ruoyan if she would spare him?”

"Ruoyu, hurry, apologize to your brother!" Madam An ordered.

Despite his unwillingness, Yun Ruoyu still turned around and knelt in front of her sister. “Sister, I'm sorry for my mischievous behavior. Please, will you spare me just this once?"

Yun Ruoyan continued to smile coldly, her gaze sweeping across Madam An and Yun Ruoyao. “You've played a similar joke on me more than once or twice. If I always forgive you, wouldn't that mark me as a person who is easily bullied?”

He looked at his grandmother. “Grandma, please don't blame me for being careful. The Yun Family emphasizes politeness, and if this continues.”.

Yun Ruoyan turned to Madam An. "Mother, don't you agree?" His clear and clear eyes looked radiant.

Madam An could only frown. This was his reason for bringing Yun Ruoyan here, and the loathsome girl was now fighting him based on that! “Ruoyu did cross the line, but she was still young. Mom, I hope you won't hurt her too badly."

Yun Ruoyan turned her head to look at Yun Ruoyu once again, looking at the bloodstains on her neck. “Well, I guess I am his older sister,” his sigh and turn to matriarch Yun. “Why not send Ruoyu to her cottage for isolation cells?”

Matriarch Yun patted Yun Ruoyan's hand, thinking that this punishment really could not be lighter.

“Alright, Ruoyan.” He glanced at her with great appreciation. "I'll let you decide how long your sister should be locked up, and you can let go when you're calm with all this fuss."

The hand of Yun Ruoyu who was still scratching her neck suddenly shook. Didn't that mean Yun Ruoyan could choose to lock him up for life if she wanted to?

She was just about to speak when Madam An glared at her, and she couldn't help but shut her mouth once more.

“Grandma, it's too hot here. Why don't I send you back to your room?" Yun Ruoyan obediently helped support the old leader's mother.

"All right, let's go back." She smiles. “It's been a long time since you came to my place. Do you like the fruit I sent Xiao Lan to you?”

"of course! I even considered looking for you to ask for more, Grandma.”

"good. Have as many as you want."

Yun Ruoyan walked out of the pavilion with her grandmother, ignoring the ice-cold look on her back and standing more upright. It's too early for either of you to try to catch me unknowingly. In this life, only I will hurt you, not the other way around. Just wait!
