PRINCESS SOPHIA

PRINCESS SOPHIA
Deaths

King Erick lay helplessly on his magnificent bed, his face growing pale and cold sweat drenching his forehead, his breathing stingingly stinging showed himself increasingly in a critical state.

A number of important people gathered around her bed, including Queen Evelyn's wife who appeared to show a wounded face as if unable to see her husband. The people present also, showed a face full of concern and sadness.

Even in his unconsciousness King Erick only pronounced a single name, in his inner space it seemed like only that was stored.

"Sophie.. Sophia... Sophia"Slowly.

His mouth continued to mutter like that, Perhaps because there was a deep sense of guilt stored in his heart. And in the end his breath faltered and then stopped, the fullmoon King breathed his last.

"My husband, please wake up!" Isak Evelyn, his cry became upon seeing the King die."No, Your Majesty don't leave me.!"

The mourning atmosphere spread, everyone's eyes glazed over, and the hearts of the followers of King Erick felt heavy to send their leader away.

Edward, the closest man to the King, looks tough on this."King Erick has passed away. We must announce his death immediately." He said to a guard.

News of King Erick's death quickly spread throughout Fullmoon's kingdom. An atmosphere of mourning enveloped the palace and the city, Hearing the news, silence swept through the crowd. There was no sound except the clattering of steps and the sound of bated cries.

"Royal citizens of Fullmoon, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that King Erick has returned to the Lord's side, This venerated burial will be carried out tomorrow, and all the people were invited to pay their last respects to the leader" one of the bodyguards read out announcements at various locations.

In the palace courtyard, the flag fluttered half-mast as a sign of final respect. A grieving crowd gathered.

In front of the mourning public's eyes, Evelyn acted smartly as a person who was desperate for the King's death, Her previously hard and cold face, now shrouded in a deep expression of grief. His roar of tears echoed in the corridors of the palace, creating an atmosphere filled with pain.

"King Erick, my beloved husband, has left me. Why is fate so cruel?" His complaint with a hoarse and disconnected voice.

Her unravelled hair added to the dramatization of this mourning scene. The servants and members of the kingdom who watched could not hold back their tears, were carried into the drama played by the Queen.

...****************...

In the castle of Velen in the North, as dusk crossed the horizon, Sophia was glued to the window of her room. The usual twilight light was so beautiful and warm now it felt cold, the feeling was not calm, the face was pale, as if something was troubling him. In silence, footsteps approached, and the door to his room opened slowly.

"Sophia.."Call someone.

Peter entered the room with a serious facial expression. Hearing that Sophia immediately turned her head.

"Peter you're here? What's going on?" The girl asked in confusion, as Peter usually did not return to the castle in three days.

He stepped closer to Sophia, and in a low voice, Peter delivered the news that shook Sophia's world.

"King Erick... Your father has died."

Those words felt like lightning was striking, creating a terrifying silence. Sophia felt her legs collapse, her strength disappearing instantly. His eyes widened, looking for certainty in Peter's eyes as if hoping that this was just a nightmare.

Peter swiftly held back Sophia who was about to fall, but this girl immediately brushed aside and tried to stand up straight again.

"No, this is impossible." he said in a trembling voice.

Sophia held onto her chest, trying to endure the pain that pierced her heart. He felt the world spinning, losing the foothold he had been holding.

"No, Peter, you can't die.." Follow him again firmly.

But a bitter reality hit him like an unexpected wave. And finally her crying broke right then and there."Dad..why? Why do you keep leaving me?"ogre.

Peter hugged the girl tightly, feeling the pain of Sophia, he felt sorry for not even being able to give what Sophia had left last time for King erick.

Sophia in that second also took away her cries, she walked quickly out of her room, as if in disbelief with the news she heard.

"Sophia where are you going?" Peter asked after Sophia who ignored him.

Sophia felt that now she had to go to the palace to see her father, to prove what Peter said, her eyes were filled with various emotions. When opening the front door of the guards who were already on standby to meet him.

"Mr Princess, I'm sorry, you can't leave." Prevent the bodyguard.

Hearing that Sophia's eyes bulged, her emotions peaked."What the hell are you saying? How dare you ban me!" Speak with a high tone.

He ignored her and continued to move but his arm was held back.

"Take me off!" Declared.

Sophia felt trapped in a nightmare. He tried to thrash, trying to free himself from the bodyguards' hard grip. But, the harsh reality was inevitable: his father had abandoned him, and he was confined within these walls.

Sophia, in her confusion and anger, vented her disapproval loudly. His eyes were full of emotion.

"Sorry, Princess. We're just following orders."

They show the official letter given by Queen Evelyn, with a royal seal that characterizes the deceased king. Sophia read the Letter with eyes full of hatred and disappointment. His eyes were round and he lost his balance before Peter from behind caught him.

"This..this is impossible! I'm not gonna do this to me.." He said in a trembling voice, his chest was hot, his breathing was tight.

The letter clearly states that Sophia was removed from the list of heirs to the throne. In his heart, grief and loss mixed up with despair. The door that had been wide open for his future, was now tightly closed.

"Peter, tell me this is a lie!" Pinta Sophia holding Peter's collar.

Peter just looked at her with concern and held the girl in his lap and brought Sophia back inside.

Sophia felt her body go limp, and she was forced to give up on the inevitable reality. Evelyn's order and the official letter broke her spirit, leading her to a deep abyss of silence.

For a while he was still shaken by these two tidings, and was still digesting them, yet in him he was certain one hundred percent of his father would not do this.

In the stillness of the room filled with uncertainty, Sophia felt her emotions blazing higher and higher. This was unfair, he thought, while the flames of his disapproval were still burning within him. He could not sit still, stuck in the groove of decisions he thought were wrong.

He stood up again, walking back and forth his irregular steps.

"I can't stay silent! I have to go to the palace!" Legally.

Lady Marie, who was sitting in the corner of the room with a deep concerned expression, immediately tried to embrace Sophia to calm her down.

"Daughter, please think with a cool head. It's not a good time, you're being watched now!" Lady Marie said softly.

However, Sophia withdrew from the embrace with determined eyes."No, no one can stop me! I have to see Dad one last time! And stop Evelyn's crimes!"

Peter, who was trying to find a middle ground, spoke in a calm tone."Sophia, you can't fight this rule by force. Queen Evelyn has full power now."

However, Sophia remained adamant about detailing her plan with eyes that exuded decisiveness."There's a shortcut the bodyguard doesn't know about, I've been through that secret passage."

Lady Marie looked at him in confusion, trying to understand Sophia's intentions."But it's dangerous, Princess. I can't let you inside...." Prevent Lady Marie.

Sophia cut Lady Marie's words with a sharp look."I have to see my father, Lady Marie. If there's a way that can take me to the palace, I have to try."

Lady Marie felt she had to hold back the girl, she did know how painful Sophia felt but she did not want Sophia to be in danger, if the girl goes secretly then she will become a fugitive and be chased by bodyguards, and is considered to be against the Queen, this can be severe.

She prostrated herself as a sign of loyalty and sincerity and begged Sophia not to go."Princess, I beg of you, think wisely. It's not just about you, it's about your safety, I don't want to lose you." Said sincere.

Sophia felt a vortex of emotion within her. On the one hand, there was a strong determination to oppose Evelyn and see her Father one last time. On the other hand, she felt a deep concern from Lady Marie who was like a mother to her.

"Lady Marie, stand up."Sophia exhaled heavily.

Lady Marie, with a heavy heart, lifted herself from her prostrate position. Sophia looked into the woman's eyes, and there she found the sincerity attached to her every word and gesture.

"I'm not leaving.."

Sophia pulls Lady Marie into a warm embrace, Sophia knows that this is a tough choice, but it may also be the best for now.

"Thank you Princess."

But, in the midst of that sadness, there was another layer of emotion infiltrating her. The decision to remove him from the list of heirs and forbid him to set foot in the palace ignited the flames of fury that raged within him. How unfair everything is. How he felt disenfranchised as the king's son.

Why should I lose everything? Why was I punished so severely? What was my mistake? Think Sophia.

The next day, the previously clear and blue sky, was now a pale and gloomy background. The funeral of King Erick, a figure loved by the people of Fullmoon, was held in the palace's spacious courtyard. The black flag fluttered at half-mast, depicting the departure of a leader.

The funeral procession was arranged with great honor. King Erick's body was adorned with a crown and royal clothes.

The palace that used to be filled with laughter and cheer now felt lonely, as if wailing in sorrow. Rows of soldiers and palace guards stood firmly, showing their final respect for the returning king.

The sound of prayers and chants permeated the air, creating an atmosphere of silence that was only interrupted by the sound of the roar of the footsteps of the soldiers carrying the coffins towards the royal family's tomb.

Evelyn, who seemed to be grieving, wore mourning clothes with a restrained expression.
