In addition to the memories of when I just entered this body, there are also memories of the owner of this body. The world that this body lives in is not Earth. Here every living thing has a level as a gauge of their strength or science. Other than levels, in this world there was an invisible power called mana. By processing mana, living beings can use powers that cannot be found on earth like skills or magic similar in RPG games.
Every living thing has mana and with which they can manipulate many things around them such as strengthening themselves or creating fire and water. Yet even though everyone had mana, only a few humans could manipulate it. Only a select few can use it. Other than mana, monsters were also a common thing in this world, and to ordinary people monsters were a disaster.
The name of the owner of this body happened to be the same as me, Jaya, aged 17 years and he came from a family of ordinary farmers who lived a peaceful, simple, and prosperous life. But all that changed when their village was invaded by monsters when he was 12 years old. Many of the victims who died at the time included his parents.
He was suddenly left behind by both his parents and his badly damaged home. Little Jaya doesn't know what to do and only follows most of the villagers who decide to evacuate while in town.
Jaya is one of the citizens of the Kingdom of Patgara, which is one of the kingdom of the archipelago. But Jaya village is not located on the coast but in the interior and is a farming village.
Jaya did not know how wide the island she lived on. All he knew was that this kingdom only had one city which was also the capital of a kingdom called Patga. To go there they only need to follow the river and take one day trip.
There is no money and only alone, Jaya is forced to find work but because of the many refugees who are also looking for work and also because she is still a child, there is not much she can do. To survive Jaya was forced to work as an unofficial adventurer.
Adventurers in this world are freelancers who take missions through the Adventurers Union as intermediaries and guarantors of the mission. The union received missions from people who needed help and the mission was announced. Most of the missions were monster hunts to reduce their population and as foodstuffs. There are also missions to collect plants, become bodyguards, clean the city, etc.
His age is too young can not make Jaya become an adventurer. The adventurer must be at least 17 years old. Because he was young he worked as a firewood collector in the forest near the city of Patga which was then sold to suspected besiegers. The cost of his firewood was money that only provided enough food for the day. But he kept on doing the job because he had no knowledge that could make him get a better job and sell his firewood elsewhere instead just got food that tastes like food cattle.
Jaya remained a wood collector until the age of 17, although many of her colleagues had returned. Until finally Jaya can register in the Adventurers Union. After being scanned using a magic artifact and he was confirmed to be 17 years old. He could obtain an adventurer badge.
Adventurers have their respective levels of the lowest rated Wood→Besi→Bronze→Silver→Gold. The higher the level of adventurers, the wider the type of missions they can perform, but the higher the danger.
Girang can finally become an adventurer and the chance to change his fate has become more wide open, Jaya immediately rushed to the notice board looking for his first mission. The mission that was popular at the time and continued to be in the fanfare was Patgara's plan to conduct an expedition on the eastern island. With the lure of an abundance of gold and silver on the island makes many people want to go there. Of course with the dream of wanting to change his life so much better quickly because it has been years of hard life, Jaya volunteered for the mission.
Jaya was also happy when she heard the announcement but when the sense of euphoria she felt decreased, a sense of awkwardness emerged. When the announcement was over, the selected adventurers were grouped and directly led to the mes as they were about to leave tomorrow before the eyes of the day rose.
The expedition felt rushed even when it reached mes, the place was guarded by soldiers and adventurers could not go out even with the reason of wanting to leave for the family or take their equipment. The soldiers said all the equipment would be provided by the kingdom and they only needed to carry themselves.
The longer the sense of awkward the higher, but Jaya can not retreat from this mission. After signing up, if you want to cancel the mission he has to pay compensation and this is a mission where they can get a lot of resources on the island so that the compensation money is also large. Even though he's been looking for wood his whole life his debt won't be covered. Jaya can only be sincere, hopefully what she feels is just a hunch.
At dawn, they were awakened and told to follow the soldiers to the port. Gathering in the harbor the adventurers were introduced by the leader of the expedition. The leader is a baroness.
The baron gives a little explanation of the expedition. They will go to the island to the east of the kingdom of Patgara. The island is many times the size of their current island. The island was a barrier between kingdoms in the western and eastern islands. Their destination was the northwestern part of the island where the trade route was very infrequent. The trade route between the western and eastern kingdoms usually circled the southern part of the island because of the closer distance to get to the eastern kingdoms.
For hundreds of years various western and eastern kingdoms tried to control the island but were unsuccessful because the monsters living there were high level. But one of the western kingdoms of Gagara, a neighbor of the Patgara kingdom, is said to have managed to explore the northwestern part of the island and they got a lot of gold and silver.
As a form of good relations between the kingdoms of Patgara and Gagara, the Gagara kingdom shared information regarding their success and sent a guide to guide them to the southwestern part of the island where weak monsters lived.
Hearing this, Jaya's awkward feeling disappeared. This meant that the expedition he followed could really make him rich. Their expedition set off on three ships carrying 300 people.
To get to their destination it said it would take ten days and on the tenth day their guide suddenly stood at the end of the bow of the ship shouting. “Oh the great dragon that reigns at the bottom of the sea .. I have brought back the tumbal as payment to protect our kingdom roam!”
Shortly after that right in the middle of the ship was breached by a very large land dragon so that it broke the ship and made some people thrown from the ship. One of them is Jaya.
