Refusing the Love of a Mafia Boss

Refusing the Love of a Mafia Boss
15. The Cruel Logic

"I know village women are more attached to motherhood."

"Not everyone in the city has a house as big as a palace or lives in a tall tower."

Noah smiled faintly. It means not everyone is the same.

"I think it's right." His eyes looked around and found an ice cream cart. "Lia, you want ice?"

"No."

Very quick to answer. He did not even glance at the place Noah was referring to. "I'll buy you one. Apologies for my assistant's attitude."

"No."

"You're mad at me?"

"No."

"Then why?"

"No."

"You hear me, Lia?"

"No."

Noah closed his mouth and faintly smiled.

Funnier.

How adorable.

But Noah felt this was the limit. If he was too pushy on nosy grounds, those eyes that were seriously hostile towards him would grow even colder.

He hates everything that is boring.

*

Ilina acted as if Noah was nowhere near her. Just silently watching the children play while letting his mind wander.

Fun at play, huh?

Ilina was once in a phase where she asked why she was different. He feels himself different from the children around him who can have fun and find everything fun.

People like Susan and probably Marissa now tend to hate Ilina very much without her understanding why.

Then, Ilina asked Mahesa. And the answer Mahesa gave ....

"You're an amazing kid."

Then why he was being hostile was what Ilina asked next.

Mahesa replied, "Because you are amazing, you will never understand the feelings of ordinary born children."

"What ... means?"

"Tell me, Ilina. How much time does it take to memorize multiplications of one hundred to one thousand?"

"One day."

"Ordinary children need at most a standard time of one week memorizing multiplications of one to ten. Your age is only a dozen, but your intelligence and logic are different. Blending in though won't make you friends with an ordinary kid."

Ilina was sad at that time.

Of course, the children also seemed to expect to have friends and used to play as usual.

He was sick of being hated, sick of being bullied for no reason.

But Mahesa crouched down, gave him a bowl of marshmallows and said, "The boys don't hate you because you're different. They hate you because you naturally underestimate them. It'sit's okay. If you don't have friends, then you don't have to be friends. Isn't it unpleasant to be friends with those who are unequal?"

Gradually Ilina understood that she did not need the friend. He can live without friends.

Of course tired, of course fed up, but he can do anything.

"Lia."

Ilina's daydream glass was broken by that faint call. He glanced, and Noah poked at him.

"Let's go back" he said again. "I'm hungry."

Ilina. Leaving the park and the swing where he saw the children to come behind Noah.

Thought Ilina, that wary Noah was hard to guess. But it turned out that Noah who pretended not to be vigilant was much more difficult to guess.

His soft attitude slowly became more pronounced. It made Ilina's throat feel like it was stuck in something disgusting.

Whatwant? Why did she keep seducing Ilina?

Should he just kill this guy, because it seems like he's dead or not, won't discourage Ilina's plans?

Good.

Let's kill him if he seduces again. Once again she said something annoying, Lia would not care who she was. So again, there will be no concept of restraint.

If there was one more weakness Lia had that Noah got, then it was .. her inability in holding back the bloodlust.

As if he was thinking, 'move to the right, kill, move to the left, kill, turn, kill as well'.

He was raised a killer or what?

Noah felt an intense danger. He no longer invites Lia to talk, enter the apartment that fortunately there is no Marissa.

Noah's intention was to invite him to cook together, but he paled because of those eyes.

Noah just went into the room, changed into something odorless.

His instincts say Lia is in a not to be seduced fashion.

The girl was sitting in the kitchen alone. You can cook on the stove, open a can of chopped meat, saute with teflon, and then serve it on a plate.

Actually, she's cooking delicious. But the seasoning and taste are traditional.

Noah still does not know why he thinks he is Ilina Bumantara, his behavior is difficult to describe as ordinary servants.

They eat without sound. Just listen to the clutches of spoons and plates.

Of course Noah observed. His posture was once again perfect, but he ate only with a spoon and an ordinary hand gesture.

It seems he doesn't know how to use a fork or chopsticks either.

Lia. Why is he so mysterious?

*

The person watching increases by one.

No, two, huh?

Early in the morning when Noah was probably still sleeping in the room, there was a small letter tucked in by Harja for Ilina.

It says now the Palmer family knows of a foreign girl in Noah's apartment, and they add one man to watch her.

But one more man was watching him not from the Palmer family.

A foreign man who is not Mahesa's man.

It was automatic that Ilina suspected two people. The grumpy girl, and Noah himself.

Both of them showed no signs, but especially Noah, he was indeed adept at regulating facial expressions.

A necessity of pretense is that there should be no expression.

Don't be surprised, don't be offended, rarely angry, don't be upset, don't be sad. Do nothing but be silent, listen, think, decide.

It was something Mahesa taught him.

Noah is the most suspicious person. The one with the motive is Marissa.

"Lia."

"Yes?"

"Is that your non-doing?" He showed the news on his tablet about the death of one of the senior family members of the Bumantara family. "He intended to pit the Bumantara and Palmer families?"

"Yes." Yeah." Lia stared at the name on the screen before Noah took it back.

Sulaiman Bumantara's. That's Ilina's grandfather.

"I think your non-mu is far more cruel than you."

Ilina just stared at him flatly. His mouth opened, without the slightest emotion saying, "Miss says, emotions are weakness."

".... I think the same." He returned calm. "Because hiding emotions is a must."

Thas right.

"Don't respect." Ilina muttered. "Don't appreciate, don't be compassionate. Don't make people care, and don't care about anyone else."

*

Very sharp logic.

A girl should not say such a thing in her twenties.

It was only fitting that he could kill that easily, being able to plan to kill someone that easily.

From the beginning he did not consider anyone in front of him human.

He did not ask to be considered human. He does not ask to be appreciated, respected, looked upon or loved.

In return, he would not do it either.

Kill those who need to be killed, ignore those who need to be ignored, dwell on meaningless things, watch over those that have the potential to damage their life structure.

Even if she wasn't Ilina, Lia had already quite depicted Ilina's figure on Noah's head.

"Why ... Didn't you help me?"
