Ilina's eyes seemed to be splitting it.
"What do you mean?"
Noah just looked at him calmly. Again he came, holding Ilina's face with Benedict's blood writhing on the floor.
His face looked up at Noah. He's really not sane. His cheeks were even flushed by all the romance in the middle of the war and the smell of blood rancid mixed with the smell of gunpowder.
"I like your eyes." Noah stroked the small corner of his eye. "I like it so much even though your eyes always look cold, Ilina."
Could that be the reason why he prevented Ilina from sticking her needle on Benedict?
"I don't want your eyes to change or be on another man."
Ilina looked at him emotionlessly. "Do you think your actions will make me like you?"
Noah grabbed his hand. Leads the needle to her neck without losing a single hint of red on her cheek.
"I told you I'm jealous of Xavier."
"...."
"I told you it doesn't matter what you're treated like."
Noah lowered his head, fusing their eyebrows even when Ilina could have stabbed him the next second.
"Don't give your pretty eyes to another man, Ilina. Give me. Your hatred, and anything after that."
Ilina was silent.
"Look at me." Noah rubbed his cheek into Ilina's hand like a spoiled cat. "Look at me who's obsessed with you."
"...."
"I'm not leaving you alone."
Ilina's eyes widened faintly.
"I won't go where you can't reach. I will hold your hand at all times. So treat me as much as you can, make yourself happy with me."
"I'll assume it was never said by Noah."
Ilina jumped. Looking at the direction where the black-clothed man took off his face cover, the figure of Mahesa Mahardika smilingly enjoyed their performance.
The man chuckled. Briefly pat Ilina's head before she passed, approaching Benedict Palmer who was in Ryo's hand cage.
"Yes, Ben. I see you're fine."
"Mahardica!" Benedict growled furiously. "This is how you thank me for all my cooperation?!"
Mahesa squatting. Staring at him like a ludicrous insect. "You remember what I said when Ilina's parents died?"
That sentence made Ilina flinch once more. Of course it's easy to understand that Mahesa hinted she knew Benedict's plan. But it should be at the age of Mahesa who is too young.
"Senior."
Mahesa laughed. "Calm down, Ilina. I'm not cooperating with this man so that your parents are killed and can have you. From the beginning, your parents handed you over to me."
Ilina's mouth was clenched.
"But I know the plan. And still too small to do anything." Mahesa patted Benedict's cheek swearing at him. "I, who was over five years old, said to this man: a made-up death carries the grudge of the person after it."
"Basic bastard!" Benedict tried to kick Mahesa but could not be when he could no longer even see. "All your ideas! I did it because of your incitement!"
"Which one is my affinity? About Noah? What if I said take the ball up the mountain you'd do it? Stupid jerk. Let me tell you one thing, Old Man."
Mahesa pressed her index finger on Benedict's forehead.
"Experience must be accompanied by an understanding of humility. If your brain can't understand it, then that's where you are."
Mahesa smiled lightly.
"I did use Ilina to destroy you. I will accept your wealth and Bumantara for my benefit. Did I do something wrong, Ilina?"
Ilina smiled slightly. "Senior is always right."
"Look? Your pride is only about self-worth. Not useful at all. That's why Xavier chose death. The proud child understands what humility is."
After saying so, even though Benedict cursed, Mahesa moved on.
"Well, this way I settle my debt from Arman Bumantara. If you meet him, don't forget to say my regards."
