Princess Hiley had received an order from the emperor to protect Ian's family, and that was what she did. Even vice-captain Paul accompanied them, leading the people. Their destination was a shelter not far from the palace reserved only for the needs of the royal family and high officials.
“Ice wall!” Princess Hiley chanted and at her command, a wall of ice was lifted from the ground around them. Princess Hiley did not hesitate to show her abilities as a Class 4 Magician and pushed back the advancing dragon warrior. Thanks to him, leading people became easier.
“This way! We're almost there!”
Paul, the Vice-Captain of the 2nd unit of the palace guards, his men and even the people could not help but be surprised.
Who can blame them? No one expected Princess Hiley to turn into a witch. Who would guess? Also, judging from his strength, he seemed to be quite accomplished.
“Dia ... His Majesty is a magician?”
“I don't know..”.
“Then why he... someone like us.”.
People kept whispering amongst themselves.
This is new to them.
Attack skeletal monsters.
The fact that the princess is a witch.
Even the way the emperor risked his life by meddling in the fight.
Could this be the so-called noble sacrifice of the noble class? Such noble deeds are only sung by singers in stand-up bars, or simply appear as stories in books
‘Excellent,’ thought Vice Captain Paul. Paul, the knights and the soldiers thought this whole situation was strange in many ways. His men thought the same thing with people.
Vice-Captain Paul, however, looked at the entire situation and thought about it differently.
“It looks like something happened to him and Sir Ian.” .
There have been rumors in the palace recently that Ian Paige, the ruler of the Ivory Tower and Princess Hiley Greenriver are in a romantic relationship.
That was because Ian entered the palace more often, and most of his visits were only for the princess. However, Paul thought the wrong information was being disseminated.
‘Could it be because of magic?’
Two people meeting. As soon as he thought of the word ‘magic’, everything became clear to him. Their meeting was nothing more than a private lesson. The truth of the rumor had now become clear to him.
‘I'm sure she's at least over Class 3.’
Vice – Captain Paul is an intelligent scholar who has studied ‘The Great Battle of the Witches’ with his direct superior Oliver. He had a special knowledge of magicians and was somewhat able to identify the grade level of the princess.
“Did he hide this.” Vice-captain Paul was deep in thought, then shook his head.
This was not the time to let his mind wander.
‘Now is not the time. Let's focus.’
There was one job he had to do, and that was escorting people to safety.
He looked at the sword strapped to his waist.
The weight of the sword felt different.
“Stop!”
Princess Hiley made everyone stop. All along, he had used the Detection Spell to take down monsters that might be approaching, but there seemed to be a problem.
“What's wrong?”
“There. There's one coming.”
The princess pointed to the empty neighborhood alley.
At that moment, a skeletal monster appeared before the eyes with the sound of thumping footsteps.
His golden eyes and the terrifying-looking spear tip shone brightly. The monster looked bigger than the others. There's only one, so it doesn't matter.
“Is it just one?”
“With my magic, it seems so.”
“IF that's the problem ..”
Paul pulled out his sword. After all, isn't he the vice-captain of Unit 2 of the royal knights? He had enough skill and he could even use the Mana Blade of Blood that he inherited from Oliver. One monster is no problem.
‘I'll take care of it.’ Paul said as he approached the monster.
As he approached, he could see its size more clearly.
It was clearly bigger than the others.
Paul calls “act leader” for a reason
“Hyaa!”
Red blood dripped on Paul's sword – the sword he inherited from Oliver.
CLINKING -!
It's freaky. Although weaker than Oliver's sword, Paul's sword also shook with a blue light. It was enough to break the bones of those skeletal monsters, but he could not. The bones of these monsters were different
There was not even a gap left, let alone a wound.
“A.. what is.”
Paul shock. He quickly changed his posture to get ready to defend himself from the next attack.
“Hah..?”
The Skeleton Monster did not attack him. Instead, it simply swung one of his arms. Paul knew the monster only thought of it as a distracting fly.
“Ugh!” Vice-Captain Paul struggles to regain his balance.
This monster was different from the one he had fought so far – the size, strength, and sturdiness of his bones.
It surpassed all other monsters in every way.
(My aim..my task..) The skeletal monster muttered softly in a small voice.
Paul and Hiley are very close, trying to face the monster.
The sound was loud enough for them to hear.
(About.. Page.).
The courtyard?
Why is ‘Page’ mentioned out of nowhere?
Can it refer to Ian Page's surname?
(Last of everything.) The monster continued.
Page has to do with the end of all living things.
The monster said it was their goal.
Later then…
(Result.. ).
The monster pointed a large spearhead in front of them and pointed at a woman.
It was Vanessa Page, the mother of Ian Page.
(Remove.from her.) The monster muttered as if it was an order.
The princess quickly set up a Detection Spell to check if the monster was approaching.
“Oh...?” Face falls.
He could not detect the monsters a moment ago, and now the monsters were surrounding them from all directions.
“Master Paul! They're coming!”
“Hah? Where did they come from?”
“We'll be surrounded soon! We have to escape.!”
However, the princess was wrong.
They are not surrounded ‘soon’
They ‘sudah’ surrounded
(Our goals.).
(Remove them.).
(We.. tasks..).
