“Is all the story true or not? Answer me!”

“Yah.. I hope all the stories are true. They are all right, My lord.”

The stories were more shocking to the nobles and leaders of each country.

They had known Ian for a long time as a great wizard.

They also see and hear things, and many sources where they receive their information.

However, no one expected Ian to be this big deal. No one expected Ian to be able to control the legendary dragon.

Hector Coldwood laughed. Being the emperor and absolute leader of Coldwood Kingdom, he showed the greatest reaction in response to his servant's report about Ian.

“Maybe he himself can be a dragon? Or even better – gods?”

“I'm sorry, Milord.”

Hector had suspicions against Ian, so he had conducted several investigations that had been going on for several months.

The conclusion is that all rumors are true.

Every rumor and story is absolutely true and nothing is wrong.

“And on top of that..the boy noticed me, huh?” Hector mutters.

“...” His servant did not answer.

“Who is he so my life should be in his hands..?”

“I, milord. Please calm yourself-“

“AAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!” Hector screamed and threw the table.

A breaking sound resounded throughout the throne room.

“Sir!” The waiter shouted.

“OUTSIDE!”

“Tuanku, you should calm-“

Hector took out a sword and pointed it at the servant who made a report about Ian.

“Didn't you hear me? Get the. Outside.” He continued calmly in a low voice. “Do you think I'm low? Like the boy did? ”

“T-no sir! Of course not, My lord!”

“Then get out. Don't stand there staring at me like that. Out!”

“At ..on your orders, Your Highness!”

With that, the servant immediately headed for the exit, fearing for his life.

“And that. BANG !!” Hector screamed and groaned as if he was in pain.

How did that cause this? Where is that wrong? How could he change things?

“What…. What does he want me to do?”

Hector had lived a successful life, until he made one mistake by trying to start a war. Little did he know that one decision would bite him back.

He is now captured in the hands of ‘monster’ that comes every thousand years - and he did not expect himself to end up in the claws of such a monster.

“Grrrggghh..!” Hector, the emperor of Coldwood, of blood and iron, was made mad by the latter.

* * *

A few days before the new year arrived, Terry Greenriver gave an award to Ian.

He wanted to present Ian with the title of the nation's hero, which he deserved.

Ian refused the title.

“I am honored, My Lord. But I can't accept a title like this.”

Emperor Terry Greenriver was amazed.

“Why? Hows it? Forgive me for saying this Ian, but you never turned down a gift like this. You really enjoy being presented with awards and prizes. That's what makes you more liked. You are quite honest.” The emperor said half-jokingly.

The Emperor had reason to make such a comment. Ian never refused the gift that came to him.

The same Ian who never refused, even out of politeness, refused to be crowned the hero of the nation. There was no doubt a reason for Ian to do so.

“There is no special reason for me to do so, My lord.”

Ian only has a conscience, though it may come as a surprise.

This whole thing was Ian's fault. After all, the dragon warriors had attacked from the very beginning for the purpose of searching for Ian.

‘If I hadn't been here since the beginning ..’ thought Ian. Nothing would happen if he wasn't there. Then how could he just bear the title as the hero of the nation?

‘Even if it's for me, I can't take that title.’

In fact, he was in a position of feeling guilty to the Greenriver people for the rest of his life. However, he could not force himself to tell the emperor. Ian needs another reason.

“You like me for being honest, so may I be honest for rejecting the title you now give me? I might sound a little arrogant.”

“Being arrogant is one of your attractions. And you have the right to be arrogant. What do you want to tell me?”

The emperor was quite unique in his own way. Most people would be cautious around Ian once they knew of Ian's abilities, but the emperor never changed the way he treated Ian.

“There is no point in receiving land and wealth as gifts. I knew that in the end, all of it would be returned to the empire through the Page Organization run by my Princess and mother. Rather than you having trouble distributing gifts, wouldn't it be harder for me to receive a thank you from you personally here in the palace?

Ian doesn't need land.

Ian also did not need wealth. He's got a lot of it.
