Papi Gumalang knocked on Gavin's room door. “You should get ready soon, Vin. We're going to Mentari's hotel tonight for your engagement. Immediately prepare, Papi will wait for you below.” said papi Gumalang.

“Iya, wait another ten minutes I will be down soon.” Gavin answered briefly, then he closed the door to his room.

Ten minutes passed Gavin down the stairs to his papa sitting in the living room. “Come, we go.” Gavin came out first and his papa followed behind him.

“I want to bring my own car. Papi with Ari only.” Gavin. Without further ado, Gavin gas-fired directly into the Mentari hotel.

Her papa only nodded faintly after hearing her son's words. "Based on today's youth, there's no manners." Her papa muttered sqmbil entered the car.

Arriving there, Gavin waits for his papi in front of the hotel entrance.

“Include, Vin.” Her papa just turned to Gavin and walked in first into the hotel.   

Gavin let out a long sigh, then prepared himself and his heart first before entering the hotel.

“Gumalang.” Frans cried his best friend from a distance. Frans waved one hand, then he walked over to his best friend.

“Hai.” The clerk waved his hand.

“You look more handsome than usual, Lang.” Frans shook Gumalang's hand.

Gumalang. “I was always handsome, Frans. You are the one who just admitted it.”

Frans also chuckled. “You can do it, Lang. Where is Gavin? Why isn't she with you.” Frans turned to look for Gavin.

“In a minute he will soon enter this room. You take it easy, my son will not renege on his promise.” Gumalang invited Frans to walk to a table that had been available drinks and food.

“But, Lang. Is this the best thing for our kids? I'm really worried about Gavin. Her fate is like her Papi used to be, who met poor women and was betrothed to rich women.” Frans chuckled back a little mocking his best friend.

Gumalang just silently did not answer, he took a drink and chugged it until it ran out.

“Hai, Gavin.” Cia greeted Gavin who had just entered the room.

Gumalang and Frans simultaneously turned to Gavin. “What I said, he couldn't possibly renege on a promise.” Gumalang said with pride.

“Like yourself, Lang. You can keep your word, even if you want to run away.” Frans replied.

Again Gumalang did not answer chiming in Frans' words.

“Hai, what did you do to come to this event? Didn't you ever like a crowded place like this?” Cia nudged Gavin's arm.

“I just obey what papi says only.” Reply Gavin with a flat face.

“It looks like you're not happy today.” Cia looked at the handsome face of the man she already thought of as her sister.

“Entahlah. But you look different to me. You look very happy today.” Gavin said with a slight smile.

“For sure, because today is my sister's engagement day with a man of our papi choice.” Answer Cia casually.

Gavin furrowed his brows then looked fixedly at Cia. “What did you say? Is this your sister's engagement day?”

Heemm.. Cia nodded. “What's up? You're jealous you can't get it?” Cia chuckles.

“My destination is here, because I will also be engaged to the woman of my papi choice.” Gavin.

Cia flinched, she covered her mouth with one of her hands. “What, lest the man she's betrothed to is you?” Cia glared in disbelief.

“Can be. You don't pretend to be that keget, Cia. Surely you already know all this?” Gavin asked. His face is now serious.

“Nak only, you. I just found out last night. And that was his impromptu love. So I went straight home. My sister already has a boyfriend. Why would she want to join this engagement.” Cia's mouth pouted in protest.

“What, you still don't believe me?” Cia glaring.

“Kaka.” Tania cried from ignorance. He saw his brother chatting with Gavin.

“Hai, Tan.” Cia welcomed her sister who joined them.

“Hai, Vin. How are you?” Sapa Tania shook Gavin's hand.

"Hi." Gavin repaid Tania's hand.

“Tan, what if your fiance is the one in front of you right now? Are you going to turn it down or continue this engagement?” Cia started asking without further ado.

“What do I mean? Want whoever it is, I will still reject this fight. My girlfriend is waiting for me outside the hotel.” Tania replied by putting both of her hands in front of her chest.

“I mean, your future fiance is Gavin. Child who never had feelings for women.” Reply Cia scorned.

Ha.. Tania was very surprised, she covered her mouth with both hands. His matan glared at the two people who were now in front of him. “That's right to say, ka. Gavin never liked women. He likes a fellow man.” Tania laughed out loud.

“Sialang. I also have a lover. She is prettier than you, and she is also very kind and patient facing me.” Gavin defended himself.

“Ohh... So, now the boy who used to hate girls so much, now has a sidecar?” Cia chuckled at Gavin's slightly flushed face in embarrassment.

“But, is it true that you will be engaged to me? I can't continue this engagement, Vin.” Tania shook her head.

“Iya. I don't actually know if you're my papa's choice either. Cia told me earlier. So, why do you come to this event, if you just don't want to get engaged?” Gavin stared fixedly at the small-bodied woman in front of him.

“I just don't want to disappoint papi. But, when I agreed to this engagement, there was guilt for my lover. We promised to live together forever. But, I would instead betray him.” Tania looked sad now.

“Our position is the same, Tan. There was a woman waiting for my arrival. I couldn't betray him either. Do we both run away and do not need to continue all this?” Gavin whispers to make a deal on Tania.

Tania quickly nodded in agreement, as did her older sister Cia. “Is this okay, Vin?” Ask Cia.

“If we both compactly cancel this engagement, there will be no big problem.” Gavin said passionately.

“I'm a little scared. How about papi we get angry, brother?” Tania asked.

“We should be able to take risks, Tan. If we do not cancel all this, it will be more complicated in the future.” Cia held her sister's hand to strengthen each other.

Tania nodded in agreement. “Good. I'm with you, I trust Kaka and Gavin.”

“Okay, all agreed. We have to set the strategy before the event starts.” Tania looked at her little sister and childhood friend.

The two of them nodded at the same time. Plans were soon made to thwart this engagement. After strategizing, they went to where their parents stood.

“What, you already know who will be engaged to, Vin?” Her papa asked as she sipped the drink that was in her hand.

Hemm.. Gavin nodded, then picked up the drink on the table and drank it.

“Good, if you already know. So, you don't need any more introductions.” Papa smiled.

The show starts soon. The host had prepared on stage by carrying a piece of paper arrangement of the event he had made.

Ahem.. Test Test Test Test..

“Goodnight ladies and gentlemen. Introduce me Mike, who will host this engagement event until it's over.” Mike lowered his head greeting the invited guests.

After quite a long pleasantry, it finally came to the time when Gavin and Tania exchanged rings. The two of them went up the stage and carried each other rings, to be pinned on their fingers.
