Chapter 3.9: Friends are a burden

A few days ago...

I woke up in an uncomfortable state, I felt my head and my body ache pulsating, the first thing I wanted to see was the face of my hero Raven, he said, but instead I saw Benhard's face that looked panicked once, he walked around in circles near me, occasionally he bit both fingers to calm down.

“Benhard what's wrong?” just worry

“Lyra!” said Benhard who was surprised to see me who arrived – suddenly woke up, it seems he really panicked to not realize the situation around.

“Lyra I hope you can calm down after hearing what I'm going to say” Benhard said looking at me seriously

“Ya, what's up?” I asked again, I stopped breathing so tense the thing said by Bernhard, I was even pensive for a while listening to it coming out of Benhard's mouth

“Cannot be!” lyra said with a sad expression

I've been thinking about it while Lyra's asleep, rather than being honest I'd rather lie to her. It's for her sake, I might be a bit overdone but it's better than Lyra having to suffer because it's me who can't protect her.

“Lyra, I'll take you home, let's hurry!” said Benhard hunt – hunt, I better deliver Lyra to a safe place then then I will look for Mr. Raven.

“No! I don't want to go home! Raven can't possibly die, can't!” lyra said with a face full of tears

“Lyra calm down, let's go back before dark” said Benhard in a pushy tone

In the end, Lyra cries for Raven until the sky is dark, making Benhard forced to stay tonight in the cave. Feeling guilty about what he said, Benhard is determined to tell Lyra the truth, but as it is getting late, Benhard decides to tell Lyra tomorrow morning.

Benhard slept near the mouth of the cave, while Lyra slept in the cave. Sunlight began to appear to indicate the morning had arrived, Lyra woke up from her sleep as well as Benhard who only slept with one eye still open.

“Woah!” Benhard yawned, his hands up, he was still sleepy but he had to move immediately because the morning sunlight had shone on the tree he was sleeping in, Benhard immediately went to see Lyra.

“Lyra are you awake, Lyra?” benhard said as he walked into the cave

Bernhard saw Lyra with a flat face, on his face clearly visible traces of tears. Seeing things so bad for Lyra made Benhard feel guilty for lying to her.

“Lyra, actually..” said Benhard, I stopped for a moment to take a pause while looking at Lyra with regret, she turned to me waiting for me to speak.

“Actually Raven is alive, I'm sorry I lied to you!” benhard kneels in front of Lyra.

Turns out I got a prank, yeah I got a prank by my own friend. Raven is still alive, my hero is alive, my heart that used to feel empty arrived – arrived flowering – flowers back because listen to the word – said, said, but this was the second time I was lied to by my own friend, I had to stay calm so as not to see that I was relieved.

“I get it, you mean I'm just going to overload right?” lyra said in a slow tone

I've hurt Ms. Lyra's heart, if I say that she will only be a team burden then it's over my history as a man. I have to find an excuse, Miss Lyra is a person who greatly admires Mr. Raven, maybe that could be the reason...

“Master Raven wants me to protect you, doesn't he? I'm sure he's very worried about you so that's why I don't want to disappoint Mr. Raven, I'm sure Mr. Raven is very worried about you” Benhard said, how is this? The reason I sound so pushy, I hope to be accepted by him.

“Master Raven worried about me?” lyra said, suddenly Lyra's mood became better after imagining that Mr. Raven cared about her.

“But I won't be back, I'll come look for Raven! He is my hero!” lyra said excitedly

What am I supposed to do now? My initial intention to focus on finding Mr. Raven now had to add a heavy burden, but I'm sure Mr. Raven is fine, rather than thinking about Mr. Raven's circumstances it is indeed better that I protect Lyra, lord Raven I will try to keep my promise to you!

In the end Lyra and Benhard go together – together to find Raven, who, in Lyra's little heart she knew that her existence must have weighed on Benhard but somehow most of her heart still wanted to go look for Raven.

Benhard and Lyra several times met the gate monsters such as Flame Wolf or Aerogorilla in small quantities, slowly – land they explore the forest and then rest when the sun has sunk, until a few days have passed.

On such a calm night, there was no sound of wind blowing on the leaves of trees or the sound of crickets, the night was so calm. It kept Benhard alert and awake that night while Lyra slept first due to exhaustion exploring the forest during the day.

“It's really unusual, I feel a bad feeling” said Benhard looking around, he turned off the bonfire then prepared to hold both his swords.

“Lyra!” shouted Benhard

Lyra who was sleeping was surprised because her name was called so loudly by Benhard, Lyra rushed to wake up and prepared to hold her magic wand.

“I feel that we are being watched” said Benhard

“Don't – don't..” says Lyra

A spear floated towards Lyra, quickly Benhard fending it off with his two swords. But the attack did not stop, because an arrow shot toward Benhard's shoulder, because focused on protecting Lyra made Benhard off guard.

“I'm fine – what! Run Miss Lyra!” benhard said as he pulled out the arrow that pierced his shoulder

It really hurts, but I have to be strong to hold it...

As a knight I had to defend and not show my expression and feelings when attacked by the enemy so that they thought the attack was not effective. But actually that's not the reason, if I show that I'm having trouble holding back the enemy's attack then I'm sure Miss Lyra will be desperate, as a knight I will not make the person I protect lose his hope!

The monsters that attacked us were the Blue Night Goblin that used to appear at night, it seems that they did not attack suddenly – arrived, they had already surrounded both of us. It was possible that they had prepared for this a few days ago, the Blud Goblin was very different from the usual Goblins, they were smarter and had a more lethal strategy than their siblings.

“Benhard!” lyra shouted that saw Benhard continue to block the attack of arrows and spears thrown by the Blue Goblin, while running Benhard looked ahead then beware of the attack from behind.

“There is a cave! Let's go there” said Benhard while plucking the arrow on his left shoulder

Lyra rushed to run along with Benhard, while the Blue Goblin slowly stopped attacking as it saw their target had entered the territory of another monster. The Blue Goblins did not attack, they waited in front of the cave, waiting for their prey to come out from there.

“It seems they will not catch up with us” said Benhard with breath ngos – ngosan

“Do you not what – what Benhard? I will heal you” said Lyra who approached Benhard

“Thank you, it helped me so much, said Benhard relieved, he was very helped by the healing magic.

Benhard and Lyra continue to be wary of Blue Goblin who could attack at any time, but after sunrise, finally Benhard and Lyra could breathe a sigh of relief because the Blue Night Goblin would stop attacking when the sun rose.

“We are safe now” said Benhard with a relieved smile, Benhard involuntarily closed his eyes a sign he was already very tired.

In the end Benhard and Lyra rest until noon in the cave, but they do not know that they have entered the territory of more dangerous monsters. This monster gate was very rare to encounter in the fourth zone but a few days ago they had settled in that cave.

“Benhard!!” yell Lyra

“What's up!” reply Benhard who immediately woke up from his sleep

“It looks like the inhabitants of this cave have returned” said Lyra worried

“What!?” benhard said in surprise, with my own eyes I saw some Burst Flame Wolf along with the Flame Wolf, this is very rare. But there was something strange about their appearance, I saw their pitch-black skin which signified the stronger the Flame Wolf and the color of their eyes was a little strange, a light blue color! Is it possible that they are monsters that someone has tamed?

Benhard survives the attacks of Flame Wolf and Burst Flame Wolf, while Lyra can only stay behind and provide support in the form of mana or magic strengthening effects.

“Physical reinforcement stage three, Powerful!” said Benhard, a purple aura around Benhard's body that signified physical strengthening magic had been successfully activated.

“Fire resistance” said Lyra pointed her wand at Benhard

The two of them survived the Burst Flame Wolf's attack to the point of being cornered by it.

“Just calm Miss Lyra, I will protect you with my own life” Benhard said

Arrived – arrives a black dog helping Lyra and Benhard fight Burst Flame Wolf, a, although the faint sound of Raven's voice heard by Lyra and Benhard makes it able to survive a little more because it knows Raven will save them both.

“Do not think you can run!” said Raven who was preparing to attack – exhausted, in her left hand there was already a bright blue fireball, while her black dog turned into a bigger shape resembling Burst Flame Wolf, in the meantime, and there was a black shadow in front of Raven that turned into a wingless dragon with a length of 1 meter more.

“Mati!” raven said, Raven's black shadow attacked simultaneously but at the same time Raven stopped her attack from seeing the Burst Flame Wolf kneeling and no longer intending to attack, as if they had given up.

“Please forgive you, please!” said one of the Burst Flame Wolf, since Raven has the ability of Reality Hack he can indirectly understand what that Burst Flame Wolf was thinking.

“Hahaha, I forgive you guys? Why?” said Raven arrogantly

“Can you understand us?” ask Burst Flame Wolf again

“Actually we are in the influence where the blue is being spread throughout this zone, where it makes us not think clearly, we intend to check our resting place for the last time, he said, we will not attack you” the Burst Flame Wolf said to Raven

“Secking?” ask Raven

“There are some flame wolf children we are living in that cave because we want to find a new headquarters, if we can get our – children, we will not attack you guys, we will not attack you, please forgive us” replied Burst Flame Wolf

Several Flame Wolf children came out of the cave in fear, they seemed to also want to ask Raven for forgiveness for their parents.

After I thought carefully, the Flame Wolf was not an aggressive monster attacking humans. They are defensive monsters protecting their headquarters, after all they are exposed to the effects of where my magic is, I feel guilty towards their actions.

“Go, but remember if you meet me and my – friends never touch them or you guys I will hunt until the last descendant” said Raven with creepy eyes

The Flame Wolf as well as some Burst Flame Wolf left while paying their respects to Raven, they went to look for a new, safer region. Before leaving a Burst Flame Wolf looked at Raven respectfully, he said in his heart “clan Flame Wolf owes you lord”

After the departure of the monsters, arrived – just arrived Benhard sat down and breathed a sigh of relief. Meanwhile Lyra cried and ran to hug me. She didn't say what – was but I knew she was very grateful to me, I knew it was because she hugged me without caring about her chest that was so attached to my chest that it made a hot sensation.

After the situation calmed down, the three of us finally decided to have a serious talk regarding this exploration. I started talking about the fourth zone monster boss that I had defeated, and where my magic changed to blue, I also told them to hide my strength and achievements defeating that monster boss.

“I hope you guys understand it, I don't want to be given any special achievements by the kingdom, it could have made me an official hero bound by the rules of the kingdom” said Raven saw Benhard and Lyra seriously

“Alright I have no problem with it if indeed Mr. Raven does want it” said Benhard

“I will follow my hero's decision! I will be by your side no matter what you decide!” lyra

The atmosphere relaxed as I looked at the smiles of the two of them who seemed to be able to accept my situation as it was. While chatting, some small rays entered the cave, the rays suddenly broke when they were near us. Spontaneously I instantly cast a black shadow to protect Lyra and Benhard.

I don't know what happened but I clearly saw Mr. Raven talking to that ray of light, after the light broke out some fairies in it who spoke in a language I did not understand, I saw Miss Lyra who also seemed to not understand, in contrast to Lord Raven who seemed to understand what the little elf said.

But I'm not sure that what the fairy said was a good thing because the expression of Mr. Raven who arrived – just turned grim.

“Benhard, Lyra I will go to the higher zone of this zone, I hope you guys do not follow” said Raven in a flat tone.

“What's up Mr Raven? Why arrived – arrived changed?” benhard

“Do not want, I want to be with heroes!” said Lyra looking at Raven seriously

“Hahahaha, do you want to come?” raven said in a proud tone

“You are a team load, go to a safe place or I will send you by force” Raven saw Benhard and Lyra with eyes shining bright blue

I know that I and Miss Lyra are a burden on Mr. Raven's journey, I need to become stronger in order to stand beside Mr. Raven, but does Miss Lyra understand what Mr. Raven means, it does look rude but Mr. Raven's original intention was to keep us from even greater danger, I hope Miss Lyra doesn't misunderstand.

“Alright, I'll go home” said Lyra with tears, tears streaming, but she was still trying to smile in front of her loved ones.

“But promise me one thing hiks hiks” said Lyra while crying – sedu

Raven looked at Lyra and looked at her deeply, “Please promise to date me when you have returned” Lyra said with a smile

I smiled a little listening to that, it turned out that I was very valuable in Lyra's eyes, I won't let her down. I went along with the little elf, they led my way to conquer the main gate guarded by a monstrous monster.
