"You... Who?"
Deg.
As if something had pierced his chest at that moment, Raile was frozen silent.
There's no way Revan's gonna forget that, right? Even he had only briefly returned to recall that Revan was his younger brother. It's impossible if she has to go back to stretching the distance because Revan lost her memory right?
"You... Don't remember me?" Raile asked with a look of disbelief. His body seemed to tremble. In his heart he hopes that this is just Revan's prank. But it seems impossible.
Revan shook his head slowly. " No "His reply was short but dense, instantly making Raile's body relax.
It was fate as if toying with his life. Had to lose both of his parents in an accident, then lose his memory and forget his sister who he loved the most, even he had hated her. And when his memory has recovered, it is precisely his sister who must lose her memory and forget her.
His heart was wounded, like in an invisible sharp knife.
In the moment he wanted to fix the bonds that started to sag and remove the gap cracks between them, precisely the distance was re-formed because of him.
If only he wasn't careless... But blaming himself continuously is useless. He must find a way to re-improve their relationship, make it back to how it used to be, when there are still no problems between them.
It seemed like the best way for now was to open a new sheet, waiting for a time before the old sheet was back in his memory.
"Hey are you okay?" Revan asked because Raile hadn't answered for so long. He looked at her with a worried face. It was clearly visible in his ruby bead.
Raile shook his head slowly. "I'm fine!"
"Pulse... Revan, do you remember me?" Ask Rei.
Revan then turned to the young man, trying to remember a little about him. "Rei right? I remember how I forgot my best friend. " Answer him.
What the hell is this? Revan still remembers Rei but does not remember Raile at all. It was as if all the memories of her were erased from her.
Rei smiled with relief hearing that. He was glad his friend had not forgotten him. But he also could not bear to see the sadness that emanated clearly on Raile's face.
"I... I'll see the doctor for a minute. " Raile said and passed away, leaving the two young men there.
Rain spots increasingly flushed the earth, along with a cold gust of wind that pierced his skin. His heart is broken. He doesn't know how to go ahead. Raile unconsciously squeezes his chest. Is he able to survive in such a situation?
His gaze was shifted on the reflection of his shadow on the glass, looking at his own gold bead. Just the iris of her eyes is different from Revan's. But.. Why didn't he realize it long ago? Really stupid.
'Sickness right? Forgotten by the person you love?'
Raile was surprised and looked around. But there's no one there. So who just spoke? It can't be a ghost, right? Instantly his body shakes.
'that's how he's been feeling all along. Must suffer but keep remembering the figure of the brother who actually hates him. How ironic...'
"Who is that? " Raile said as the voice returned. Raile tried to research around her. But free. There's no one near him. Only the silence and specks of rain out there drive away the silence.
His eyes stared intently, trying to find the figure that had spoken to him.
Until finally he was surprised when he felt someone pat his shoulder.
"Rail?"
Raile turned around and a man in a white suit looked at him worriedly. He is the doctor Tadashi.
"You okay?" Tadashi asked with a worried face.
Yeah, look at Raile like that, who wouldn't worry, right?
Raile gave a faint smile. "I'm fine, doctor. I'm just... Just a little worried about Revan's condition."
Raile nodded slowly. "All right doc."
The two walked side by side towards Tadashi's room. I don't know why Raile feels awkward when he's with Tadashi's doctor like this.
******
Rei sighed. His eyes still looked at the young man who was now staring blankly at the window. Her black hair that was slightly blown by the wind looked quite beautiful, yet the bandage that tied her head made the young man look so fragile.
In his heart he was happy because Revan still remembered him. But there was also a sense of pity and guilt because the young man did not remember his own brother.
The moment where he should have been happy because Raile was back to remember him, it should be replaced with sadness because this time Revan who had to lose his memory of his siblings.
It was as if fate was toying with their lives, but who should be blamed for something like this?
"Rev"
Hearing his name called, Revan turned his head. Her ruby bead still looked empty as if light was missing from inside her.
"What's wrong? "
"May I ask, what do you remember?" Ask Rei to make sure. He hopes that the question does not force Revan's memory so bad for him later.
There was a pretty long pause before Revan answered her.
"I just remember when we were made into the mafia experiment. Then when you managed to escape and... The mafia leader continued his experiments on me. Besides, there's nothing else."
Rei fell silent. It means that the lost memories are related to his past. But how could he not remember Raile? Though it was his goal to stay alive and just now he was able to return with Raile again.
"Do you remember Raile? The man who was with me visited you. "
Revan shook his head. "I don't remember. Who is he?"
"He's your brother. You've been separated since childhood, and you've only met not long ago." Answer Rei. Revan seemed to be trying to remember, but it was the pain he got.
The young man's reflexes instantly held onto his head which began to throb painfully.
Rei who saw that looked panicked. "Rev, don't force it... If you can't remember it, it doesn't matter, that memory will come back. Don't force yourself... " Rei said worriedly and helped Revan to lie back down.
"I'm sorry I asked that."
"It's okay..." Revan. He closed his eyes and sighed a little.
There was a bad feeling in his heart, but he didn't know what it was.
'Hey, don't push yourself. For now, let me control you.'
"I don't want to... Whatever my condition is, I won't let you control me."
'Come on, right now. Let yourself rest.'
"No."
'You're really stubborn.'
Revan no longer answered. Really, at a time like this still trying to take the opportunity to take over him. Really sucks.
