For a moment, Betty and her friends were silent, tense, and very nervous. The rest of the group were eager to hear what answers Betty would give.
"Betty, why are you quiet? Let's quickly give the answer." Urge the teacher.
Betty still bowed quietly because she was confused about what to answer. Then he tried to take a deep breath so that his mind would calm down. Then he started talking despite being very nervous.
"So, in order to date at a young age it can remain positive, then the two people must be able to understand each other and do not over-exert the will. Also, the benefits of dating at a young age can provide motivation for us to change for the better as you commented earlier." The reply was nervous and doubtful.
So, hearing her explanation, Linda immediately raised her hand and stood up from her chair to refute her statement. The teacher also gave him a chance. He immediately refuted,
"That means you support the theory 'Dating at a young age is quite useful.' But didn't you previously say that dating at a young age is not very important because it can divert young people from their main purpose of school? Then why do you support the rebuttal that other groups have put forward? Please explain."
Then he sat down with a very enthusiastic facial expression to make his friend embarrassed.
Not staying silent, Tuti also raised his hand and conveyed his objection. He said,
"If indeed dating at a young age is positive, may you please mention a little of your experience as an example so that we can better understand it?"
The teacher who made the debate was even more excited to see the reaction of his active students.
"Come on Betty, tell me about your experience. I'm sure you're dating, too."
"ah! No ma'am." Answer doubtful.
But as time passed, he remained silent because he did not know how to answer. The atmosphere in the classroom was also suddenly silent because all the students were curious about what answer he would say. Besides the friends in his group were also silent like rocks, unreliable at all.
So the teacher began to run out of patience and began to get upset because there had been no answer since.
"So how's Betty? What answers? Why are you guys quiet too? Your friends have been waiting for you since."
Betty and her groupmates remained silent and bowed.
Then the teacher said again by raising his tone.
"Come on! Why are you guys quiet? Have you not prepared an answer to any rebuttal that may arise? Or you don't know at all?"
"Sorry mom, we don't know."
"What's? Show me your research results. I want to see how far you've been researching."
But he slowed down because there was nothing he could leave to the teacher. What he said was what he wrote himself in his book full of doodles.
"Where was Betty from your research? Let's bring it here." The teacher again began to get angry.
He was helpless and confessed. With a heavy heart and shame he said,
"I'm sorry ma'am. We haven't actually done it."
"What's? How could? That job I gave you a few days ago. There is plenty of time you can use to research. So what have you been doing all this time?"
"I'm sorry ma'am." Betty.
They were all the same, unable to hand even a single sheet of paper over to the teacher because they had not prepared it at all. They had given the task completely to Betty.
The teacher was angry and punished them. Pinched their faces one by one and told them to come out.
But before that, his friends ridiculed Betty and the others by saying,
"Mom, they must not do the job because of the fun of courtship."
"Yes mom. That's right." The others shouted as they laughed mockingly.
Then the teacher spoke firmly,
"Hey, already! Quiet already!
Let's continue the debate. Whose turn is it?"
But when the designated group advanced, suddenly a break bell rang. The punishment ended and they returned to their seats.
Betty was embarrassed and upset. He never expected that his two best friends would have cornered him in the debate. Even so, his two friends were shameless. With a thick face they sat up to Betty and asked her how she was, but not because they cared. They started asking, though,
"Bett, seriously you're not doing that English assignment? How can you forget when it's your favorite lesson?" Ask Linda who cares.
"Yes. I was also shocked to hear that and see you get punished. It feels ironic, seeing a favorite student get punished." Connect Tuti.
But he was silent and did not respond to the words of his two friends. He took advantage of his break by writing the punishment the math teacher ordered him to do. Words about : 'I will study hard. I'll be a smart kid.' Writing it as much as five full sheets during the break hours that only last a few minutes must not be easy. He had to write quickly in order to finish it on time and leave it to the teacher.
So because they did not get a response, the two friends went to the cafeteria. But before that they kept Betty's heart hot by saying,
"Lin, it's really good, well, in the break we can really rest and eat in the cafeteria." Tuti said in a satirical tone.
"Yes. If learning and writing continue, it will be long-saturated too. What do you want to eat in the cafeteria?" Ask Linda.
"I think I'd like some ice cream. My head's been hot since the math test and the electrifying debate."
"Then anyway? But it also fits. I also want to eat ice cream. My head and hands are also smoky because of the pain of learning and writing."
They continued to talk insinuating Betty while giggling. Betty lost her temper and threw her pen at them and said,
"Not satisfied? Not satisfied you guys mocked me from earlier? If you want a snack, yes already! Just go from there. But you guys are fucking in front of me. You think I don't know? If your head is hot, just dip it in a bucket filled with water. Go to the toilet and soak your heads there until you are satisfied. How disgusting. You're friends but treat me as an enemy."
"Cie...
Someone is angry.
Already, let's go! Later her curly hair was getting curly because of the heat. Haha..." Linda said in a mocking tone.
"Yes. I'm scared too. Later he also throws his socks again with us. It stinks. Haha...."
Then they immediately left him laughing freely because they were satisfied.
