Chapter 5: The Plan That Failed

Shelia threw a suspicious look at the two same-gender people. Let's not let them make a hunch.

'Why do I feel suspicious of these two people.' Shelia scrunched her forehead.

"Shelia, Daren, I'll go home first!" Anna said, she felt uncomfortable being in the midst of those who looked like this happy little family.

Shelia threw a sorry look at Anna, hoping that the girl would be patient and would not give up so easily.

"Anna, where are you going? Didn't you come to see Daren, why did you just leave?" Shelia tries to prevent Anna from leaving.

"Emh... I have to go back to the cafe." Anna gave an excuse.

"Tante, accompany me to play!" Nici said suddenly, she started whining and tugging at Anna's hand.

"Where is Nici going?" Anna rubbed Nici's head gently.

"Walk, buy Ice cream, park, and go to the playground!" Nici jumps on the bed and mentions her wishes one by one.

"Nici, don't bother Aunt Anna, go with Mami. Anna you take care of Daren, here." Shelia gave a strict order.

"But Mami, I want to go with Aunt Anna." Nici put on her cute face.

'Hem... This little fox, I had guessed he must have started to hunch again.' Inner Shelia.

"Nici, Aunt Anna doesn't know where your Ice Cream report, so just like Mami. Let aunt Anna accompany Om Daren."

Shelia pulls Nici's hand and takes her away. "Daren, if you need anything, just tell Anna." Shouted Shelia as she passed, without waiting for the answer of the person in question.

"Saw...!" Shelia stopped walking when they had reached the parking lot.

'Eh, has it been found out.' Inner Nici. He put on another cute look and then said.

"Why Mommy?"

"Don't you think Mami doesn't know your plan, huh." Shelia dabbled on the waist, looking down at Nici who was only as high as her thighs.

"Ma-I mean Mami what?" Nici plays her finger with a face of pain, if she is nervous she always does it makes Shelia know if she is hiding something.

"Bapi Daren doesn't really hurt, does he? You and him conspired to unite us, didn't you?!" Shelia gave emphasis with her eyes.

"What Mommy said, I don't understand." Nici played her legs while folding her hands back and lips whistled softly.

"Don't dodge, Mami knows your nature!" Shelia again led Nici's hand and took her slowly. They stopped at the Ice Cream store where Nici used to buy them. Shelia bought two different flavors of Ice Cream, one Strawberry, Chocolate, for Nici and the other Vanilla, Chocolate, for herself. Shelia took the little boy, sitting in the garden chair.

"Is having Papi really important?" Shelia opened her voice, while throwing a look in the other direction. He knew that his son wanted a complete family so much that he had been trying to unite Shelia and Daren for a long time, not that Shelia was unaware of it, but that he did not want to accept Daren, he did not want to break and hurt Anna's feelings.

"There's no Papi?" Nici repeated the words that Shelia said with a sad facial expression.

"Dear, just the two of us." Shelia clasped the little hand. "We will always be together, Mami will always make Nici happy, with all Mami's abilities!" Shelia hugged the tiny body affectionately.

'There is no Papi? Then why do all my friends have Papi. Who is my real Papi and where is he? Why didn't he come looking for me and Mami.' His little mind muttered.

"Well Mommy, don't cry anymore." Nici wiped the tears on Shelia's cheek with her palm.

"Thank you, baby!"

'Lord thank you so much for sending this cute and clever little angel to me. I know, for a Son, Dad's figure is very important in his life, but Nici is different. I got her out of misfortune, I don't even know who left Nici in my womb. Maybe this sounds silly and hard to believe, where maybe people don't know who impregnated her, but in my case it was real.'

After quite a while, Shelia and Nici return to Daren's apartment. They shop for a variety of foodstuffs, meat, vegetables and fruit from the super market, as well as some snacks for Nici.

Shelia looked at the room, she looked for Anna, but she could not see her nose at all, "Daren, where is Anna?" Shelia asked Daren, who was sitting there watching a sporting event on television.

"Back home!" The answer is short, concise and clear.

"Why do you let him come home, I'll cook you a pretty good dinner tonight."

"He himself wants to go home, why should I forbid it." Daren doesn't care.

Shelia, grunt violently. He then went to the kitchen while carrying his shopping bag with the help of Nici, the little boy was used to helping all kinds of housework Shelia so far.

Daren glanced at Shelia's back which slowly disappeared behind the kitchen door, from the end of her eyes.

'Shelia why? Why do you push others to my side, when you know that I only love you.'

Daren muttered inwardly, she knew the intent of Shelia leaving him with Anna earlier. Daren sighed deeply, she pretended the accident followed Nici's plan because she wanted to see Shelia's reaction. But it turns out that Shelia is acting ordinary.

"That's it." Daren removed and threw the bandages on his hands and feet, then walked to the dining room.

Ahem... Shelia folded her arms around her chest, throwing a sneaky look at Daren, Ck...Ck...Ck... He shook his head slowly. Daren just scratched his head not itchy.

"Aren't you surprised?" Tanya Daren looked at the expression on Shelia's face that seemed ordinary.

"I've guessed this is your stupid plan. I've faced you many times, this kind of trick is too common for me." Shelia shook her hand uncaringly. "Let's eat." take her as it passes.

Huft... Daren let out a heavy sigh, "Nic, what else should Papi do?" Daren asks Nici for advice again. Nici just shrugged her shoulders, then passed following her Mama's steps into the dining room.

Daren ate while pecking her face like a child, occasionally she glanced at Nici hoping that the little boy would help her to apologize to Shelia. However, Nici seemed indifferent, he did not touch the eye cue Daren gave.
