Aldrich follows Emma's quick steps into the house. Behind him, Ruri and Mr. Darma were busy unloading the suitcase from the trunk of the car. She wanted to help, but Emma kept pulling her hand in the house.
"Miss Emma." A woman with shoulder-length hair and thick glasses immediately stood up when she saw Emma coming.
"I'm sorry to make you wait so long." Emma received Ratna's hand.
"No miss. I just came too."
Aldrich glanced at something on the table. There was a half-drunk cup of tea, and biscuits that only had a few pieces left on the plate.
More or less, this brother was here half an hour ago. Why wait that long? Is there any important talk?
"I don't want to talk anymore." Emma let go of Aldrich's hand and looked at Wayne sharply. "Wayne, why do you think I called Ratne here?"
Aldrich who was confused by this strange situation, chose to sit at the end of the sofa while paying attention to the serious expressions of the adults in front of him.
Is this a rich man's problem? Why would Emma's sister want to interrogate Uncle Wayne?
"I don't know miss." Wayne shrugged both of his shoulders.
Emma turned to look at Ratna and stuck out her hand. "Where's the file I asked for?"
"This is miss." Ratna swiftly gave Emma a map.
"Now explain to me Wayne. Why are you taking the company's money?!" Emma suddenly raised her voice and threw the map she had just received at Wayne.
To his surprise Wayne accepted the map and read the contents. It turned out that everything inside was proof of the withdrawal of funds that Ratna should have eliminated. Even worse, all the evidence was written since he took the money for the first time.
Uncle Wayne corruption? Gosh darn. Aldrich picked up the remaining biscuits on the table, then ate them like watching a play.
"I-this isn't me! Miss, haven't we known you for years? I can't possibly do this. It must be all just Ratna's wits! He wanted to look great and steal my position!" Wayne pointed at Ratna with emotion.
"What's? I don't-"
Before Ratna makes a plea, Wayne interrupts her. "I have proof! All the money lost in the company is you. You transferred everything!"
"But Mr. Wayne told me to."
"Not to make it up! You should have a brain, if your boss tells you to do something wrong, it should be rejected. I never told you to. It's all just your shit."
"ENOUGH!!!" Emma screamed loudly to make Aldrich undo the intention of taking the second biscuit.
"I already know what's wrong." Emma looked at Wayne and Ratna in turn. His expression now turned cold. His gaze was sharp as if it could hurt anyone. Wayne and Ratna were terrified. They had never seen Emma's expression that way.
"Once again the one who can make me realize is my little angel, Al"
"Eh?! Uhuk! Ehem!" Aldrich was shocked and almost choked on the biscuit. It was just a little boy watching. Why was he suddenly dragged?
"That boy?" Wayne is really sick of hearing Emma keep praising Aldrich. But this opens the right moment.
"Actually Ratna had told me about your fraud manipulating the financial register from the start. Of course I don't believe. Wayne, you've seen me grow a lot. You also taught me a lot about business when Mr. Cassius was busy and didn't have time to teach me. I really think of you as family."
Emma walked up to Ratna and patted her shoulder. "But I can't just ignore Ratna's words. Secretly, Ratna and I have been monitoring you. Even I still can't believe you took the company's money, despite the evidence Ratna has provided. I thought, Wayne is my family, there's no way to act evil on me. Until finally, I saw your actions on Al. I'm pretty sure that I don't actually know you Wayne."
Emma took a deep breath, she moved in front of Wayne and prepared the words she was going to say. "Wayne. You're I'm fired. And I don't want to see you here either. Get out of my house."
"What?" Wayne shakes in disbelief. Once again he looked at the serious face of the woman before him. "You kicked me out? After me and my dad did everything for your family?!"
"Just because I took some money, have you dumped me? And also because of him!" Wayne pointed at the surprised Aldrich and put back the third biscuit he was going to eat. "Just because of that tramp-boy"
Plaque!
Emma slapped Wayne hard. Everyone was shocked, including Ron who was looking from afar along with the other household assistants.
"He has a name." Emma said in a cold voice.
Wayne smiled and then nodded slowly. "Well, I get it. Being chased away like a dog is not bad either. I'll leave without carrying anything, 'cause I don't feel like I'm living hitchhiking here. But remember, I'll come back to see you suffer. Let's get that."
Wayne steps out of the house, and Emma keeps looking at him in silence. The woman did not even move after a few minutes Wayne disappeared from her sight.
Is Brother Emma really that hard to get rid of Uncle Wayne?
"I'm tired." Emma finally spoke, and people immediately breathed a sigh of relief hearing that. "You can go back to Ratna."
"Well, miss, excuse me." Ratna bowed a sign of respect, then left.
"Do you need anything, miss?" Bargain Ron after venturing closer to Emma.
"none. I just want to take a little nap." Emma walked slowly into her room.
"sister"
"It's okay." Ron blocks Aldrich from comforting Emma. "Miss Emma if sad is so, suddenly reasoned to want to sleep, when in fact want to cry in the room. But that's okay, because she'll definitely come back cheerful again."
"That's it."
Is Uncle Wayne a very important person for Emma's sister? He had to cry about his departure in the room.
"Are you curious about Wayne?" Ron caught Aldrich's curious expression, and the boy nodded.
"Is Uncle Wayne really considered family to Emma's sister?
"Cabin." Ron took Aldrich by the hand and led him into a room. "This is Mr. Wayne's room. Because the owner's gone, so you're free to look around." Ron pulled out a key from his pocket. He chose a key he had memorized, then opened Wayne's room with it.
The wooden door opened. The aroma of the room fragrant green apple instantly burst forth. A neat room welcomed Aldrich's view. There was only a mattress, a wardrobe, a small table crowded with books, and a study chair nearby. It was a very normal room. It was unexpected that the owner was a person like Wayne.
Aldrich walked in. His attention was immediately drawn to a picture frame on the table. There is a photo that is similar to a family photo. Aldrich took the initiative to flip the picture frame, and as expected, there was writing there.
Mr. Cassius (39 years), Father (53 years), I (18 years), Emma (11 years)
Happy first birthday to Emma!!!
Aldrich now understands why Emma was so heavy to take Wayne off. Because it's possible for Emma, Wayne is the only family left.
"Grandfather, can I keep this photo?" Aldrich asked while raising the picture frame in his hand.
"Hmmm... How do you say yes? The owner doesn't want it either, so just take it." Said Ron who referred to Wayne when he said he did not want to bring any items.
Aldrich nodded and looked back at the writing at the very bottom of the photo.
Someday. I want the happiness in this photo to repeat itself.
