"Kanzaki's... Shiori-san is?"
The foot that had already stepped 5 steps across came to a sudden halt. He was surprised as soon as he turned his head. His pale face turned red and the two green toska-colored eyeballs looked like a black cloudy dark sky, as if they were going to spill a heavy rain accompanied by a storm.
"So yes, it deserves to feel familiar again" I murmured softly.
Actually the reason why I got to know him, because when I was a kid I saw him on the cover of a CD and on television and billboards. He is a talented violinist who became a winner in international music championships in Europe when he was just 7 years old. Her performance that made all eyes only fixed on her was, earning the studio one standing ovation. Kanzaki Shiori is the female reincarnated genius of Paganini.
This brash but genius girl has won many music contests and has also released various kinds of songs that she rearranged from legendary musicians, to her own original work. His popularity began a year and a half ago. However, he suddenly disappeared without a trace at the age of 14 years.
And now, this brash but genius girl was right in front of me, clasping tightly onto her white canister with an almost crying expression.
"... So, you... Recognise.... Me, huh?"
His sobbing voice was almost inaudible to the sound of the train brakes on the next lane. Even so, I nodded my head slowly.
"Yes, not just know. But I remember all your work and success. Even I still keep ori's CDs..."
"Forget everything!" He cuts with a snapping tone.
"Did?"
"Anyways, forget it. That mortal thing.."
I wanted to open my lips and say something to her, but I could only stare at the slender little back running towards the door of the carriage across. His light purple hair fluttered, and right at the same time the sound of notification of another carriage would arrive echoed in my ears. For a moment I could only remain silent in a confused state.
"–Hei, you!"
A voice rang out from the direction of the door across which coincidentally aligned with me. I blinked my eyes and when I opened it, I saw a white silhouette from the inside of the carriage. For a moment we looked at each other, then the girl shouted at me.
"C-O-L-A-I-T-U-N-T-U-K-M-U-!!" He shouted while pointing towards the seat beside me.
Then a train from the other direction came and made my view diverted. And at the same time, the train he was riding started to move, leaving myself on this platform.
Because of the vibration generated by the passing train earlier, the cola on the seat rolled on the floor and almost fell onto the rail. I'll take it before it's too late.
"Cold and plenty of water. Did he intentionally buy it? But when did he get to the drink vending machine there? He bought this for a thank-you note, huh??" So many questions in my brain, that it felt like it was going to blow out.
"Kanzaki Shiori yes..." I smiled at that can of melon-flavored cola in my hand.
🎶
When I was 5 years old, every time I came home from kindergarten, I always heard a CD recording of Kanzaki Shiori's game. Surely it wasn't me who played the tape, all who did it was my mother. Mom always said that the CD was a gift for her hard work as a music critic and some of her own purchases. Every month, the music collection is always increasing which was originally only a small closet, now it has become 3 large cabinets.
But of the many musicians, only the 3rd shelf that every time played does not make me bored when I hear it. Yep, it was Kanzaki Shiori's work. Despite playing it a hundred times, I never felt sick of hearing it. Even the melodic sequences made a deep impression on me.
I remember the song that had a soft sound in my eardrum while it was still in the wreckage. That song feels foreign and I've never heard it before, if I've heard it I'll remember right?
I bowed listlessly. "Actually, what's been going on with him all this time?" I muttered little.
The violin song Sonata no.9 arranged by the kreutzer, looks upset and heartbreaking. And so were his words, which were still ringing in my ears. "Anyways, forget it. That mortal thing.."
I held the tin of cola tightly, then sat on a bench not far from where I was. The melody of Sonata's violin and Kanzaki-san's voice kept spinning in my head, until my train arrived. During the train ride, I just spent time daydreaming and thinking about things that didn't make sense..
🎶
That's the view I felt in the last spring break before school. It is surprising and many of the feelings that initially disappear, come back again by themselves.
When I got home, I kept thinking about telling my mother everything that happened or holding her own. When I was about to open my mouth, I recalled the incident. And undo the intention as if this was just a dream. I still can't believe those junkyards can resonate like an orchestra.
"That can only prove that this is a real event, is just this cola.." I thought.
I shook the cola a little and opened it to drink, but suddenly the cola gushed against my face.
"Geez, Ta-chan! You are so careless" said the mother who immediately brought a towel for me.
"Thank you, ma'am." I replied with a grin.
"Oh, you know that carbonated drinks should not be shaken, especially if thrown" said the mother.
"Hehe, I'm sorry"
"Quick wipe the cola on your face and clean the floor"
"Good"
I immediately took the mop and cleaned it clean. For some reason when the cola stain was gone, it felt like my sensitivity and my concern seemed to disappear from the world. Then I remembered about him.
"Based on a stupid girl!" I muttered.
"If you tell me to forget everything, without having to be told to do it easily. If you only knew, I'm a busy man. A person like me can remember that incident? I also always forget my own dreams" inwardly.
My movements stopped and my smile was like a withered flower painted on my face. At that time, I did not expect that I would meet Kanzaki Shiori in that kind of situation.
And, refusing to forget everything...
