TAGGED WITH OM RICH

TAGGED WITH OM RICH
53. Please Don't Bother Me.

“Where do you want to hear from, baby?” Richard asked, looking longingly at the wife who was sitting in front of him, but far away, because it was blocked by a long table.

Richard and Renatta both occupy separate single sofas. Meanwhile, mama Dona and papa Roy sit side by side on a long sofa.

Renatta looked at the husband full of anger.

“About the death of Rianna.” Said the woman who then looked at her parents in turn.

“Rianna died in an accident, Re.” Mama Dona answered.

“Not because of Rich?” Renatta asked, looking back at the husband full of anger.

“She herself ‘kan who admitted to being the cause of Rianna's death?” The woman turned to look at her mother and father.

“Not everything you hear is the truth, dear.” Papa Roy chimed.

“Although his own person admitted, still not the truth?” Renatta asked again.

The woman began to lose her patience. “Please don't mince words, pa. I just want to know the truth. Looks like you guys love him so much, that you guys defended him so much.”

Richard took a slow breath. He missed his wife very much. They don't want their relationship to misunderstand for longer.

“I was indeed the cause of Rianna's death.” The man made a sound.

“Rich.” Papa Roy shook his head.

Richard continued his words.

“Because of me, Rianna suffered an accident.” The man let out a long sigh, closing his eyes.

Richard began to tell stories. The man's voice began to change.

It was really hard for Richard to remember, let alone tell of that incident seventeen years ago. His heart always felt pain when he remembered the tiny body drenched in blood in his arms.

Renatta watched the husband who continued to speak with his eyes closed. The woman's forehead was slightly wrinkled when she heard the heavy sound of restraining the cries of the adult man.

“You cried for ice cream. I took you out of school to buy it. And, as we were about to return, I saw a crowd of people in front of the school.” Richard took another breath.

“Dan— he can't continue the story. The man's head bowed for a moment.

“I'm negligent. If I hadn't taken you guys away together, maybe today Rianna's still with us.” Richard then said.

The forty-year-old man turned his face away, so that his tears would be invisible.

Renatta's heart was pounding. He felt sadness, his heart was as if it were sliced to hear Richard's story. Although the man did not continue the end of the story, but Renatta was sure, if it was an incident where Rianna had an accident to lose her life.

“Rich.” Mama Dona approached while thrusting a glass of water at the daughter-in-law.

“Thank you, ma.”

“What story can I trust?” Ask Renatta.

“As of you, darling. I've told you everything. Since childhood you have been the most spoiled to me.” Richard chuckled softly as he rubbed the corner of his eye.

The man dared to look at his wife. Richard really wanted to hug the young lady.

“Then why did you never tell me?” Renatta asked again.

“Not you already know if Rianna died in an accident?” Mama Dona turned around to throw a question.

“We feel no one needs to explain anything, because it was not Richard who caused the accident.” Imbuh the middle-aged woman.

“Then why lie to me about a company that is experiencing financial problems, and threatened to go bankrupt?” Renatta's voice was slightly raised. It seems he was re-engaged by emotions because he felt lied.

“After the accident, I promise to take care of you for the rest of my life, dear. I don't want to lose my little girl again.” Richard answered the wife's question.

“But, what is that like? You took advantage of my weakness. I'm a stupid girl who never knew about the company's affairs, just believe it when all my family says our business will go bankrupt.” Renatta laughed bitterly.

He can accept Richard's story of what happened seventeen years ago. However, his heart was still very upset considering his own family had lied to him.

“Honey, you don't blame mama and papa. Everything was my idea. I asked them to help me get you.” Richard answered his wife. He did not want Renatta to be angry with his own parents.

“For what to lie? I know I liked you from a long time ago. Why lie if you want to marry me?”

“Rena, lower your voice. You're talking to your husband right now.” Mama Dona warned as Renatta's voice began to rise.

Renatta smashed his lips. “You really love him more than me.” Grunt the woman.

“We love you guys. Richard has also mama considered like his own son.” Answer mama Dona.

Richard couldn't stand all this. The man then got up and sat down in front of his wife.

“Because I know, over the past year you have hated me because I have rejected you so often. I just don't want to be like the one who licks his own spit, if applying to you directly.” Richard grabbed the wife's fingers.

“I'm sorry for all the misunderstandings between us. I didn't mean to hurt you, baby.” No matter if there were both Renatta's parents, Richard also kissed the wife's hand.

“Omong empty.” Mumbled the woman.

“I speak the truth. If you think I'm talking nonsense, I can only give up, baby. Everything was my dishonest mistake from the beginning.”

Renatta pulled his hand from the grasp of the husband.

“Sorry, I haven't been able to accept this all.” The woman got up while carrying a bag containing her clothes.

“I'm sorry to go to the room first. Please don't bother me.” Say it again while leaving the family room.

Richard took a slow breath. He then occupied the sofa that had been left by his wife.

“Pardon Renatta's attitude, Rich. You should be more patient in the face of his childish attitude.” Papa Roy later said.

“It's okay, pa. It's been a risk for me because it wasn't honest since the beginning.”
