The Civilian: Resurgence
Chapter 1

Ando still remembered how the faces that had now left him. He did not expect, if this is the last day Ando with his friends. Inside that two-meter-wide room, he was lying down and pensive. Remembering how his friends died in front of him.

He was very sorry that he could not save them. Today was truly the worst day for him. He never thought that things would go awry like this. Slowly he closed his eyes, trying to recall what he had experienced together with his remaining team.

"Julia, after this mission is successful, what are you going to do?" Ando asked one of his team members named Julia.

Julia is the only female member in Ando's group. He used to be a member of the special forces, until the war broke out and he entered into the Ando group as a sniper.

"Maybe I'll make a house for my mother. And think of a family." Answer Julia.

Then one of them connected the conversation.

"Do you want to think of a family with me?"

That man is Tony. He is the best member Ando has. He was called the Devil. Because he had already killed countless enemies when this war started. He was also very thorough and quick in all things. Especially in assembling weapons, Tony is the king.

Julia just smiled, while Tony and the others laughed. Tony is a very entertaining guy. In this situation, people like Tony are needed to encourage their friends.

Although Tony has no family, he remains passionate and determined in carrying out his responsibilities. The main reason he joined this union, was to avenge the death of his family who had been the victims of the chaos of this war.

Tony's been in Ando's group for a long time. People like Tony are used to seeing death, as are the deaths of previous friends. Because the Ando group has been changing members since this war took place.

"As long as you know Julia, this war isn't as easy as you think. Ando and I have lost a lot of friends. I don't know how many people have entered this group, for fighting with us against the Wikar army. But as you can see, this is a war. Death can come to us at any time. Ready not ready, inevitably, still we have to accept." Said Tony.

He explained everything to his friends, what he had experienced with Ando.

"No one is born to be evil, but you must remember that our enemy is not a good person. So, your mercy will be useless in this place. We only have two choices, kill? or murdered?"

"alright. Check gear! We'll be down in a minute!" Ando's orders to his members.

"Ready!"

The sound of bullet whistling and rumbling rang out here and there. The atmosphere was completely chaotic.

"Shielded!"

"Julia?! D?! You guys find the best position to shoot."

"Ready!"

The seven-man team ended up fighting as hard as they could with the other team, in order to advance to the enemy stronghold. They were greatly overwhelmed, as the enemy troops began to attack them with machine guns.

Julia and D, who are looking for a place to shoot, are attacked by enemies using rocket launchers.

"Rocket!"

Ando tried to warn them both. Unfortunately, they were both too late to save themselves. So Julia was thrown off the roof, and D was killed instantly. Julia is unconscious, and Ando tries to save her by giving her an injection.

However, Julia's heartbeat begins to weaken. A sign that his condition is now very critical.

"Medical!"

Ando calls the medical team to take Julia. But, again the enemy shot at them, so it made the medical team who brought Julia was finally killed. More and more enemies are coming. They are trained in shooting.

Eventually they are forced to retreat slowly while protecting Tony who is carrying Julia's body.

"Quick retreat! We're desperate!"

Ando immediately ordered his team to retreat. They will be even more difficult if they continue to attack. They ran as fast as they could. And they arrived at a small house. They were safe enough to hide.

"How's Tony doing?!" Ask Tony.

"He's very weak. We need to get him to the base immediately. Otherwise, he wouldn't have survived."

Ando was truly sorry to have brought a woman to a place like this.

"Commander! We can't stay in this house. They're gonna hunt us down. Look at! The other team is taken prisoner!"

Ryan looked outside through a small hole in the house. He saw that the members of the other team were captured and taken to the enemy headquarters.

"All right! You still got Ton?!"

"I can still carry it! But we have to turn the road to safety. Far no problem. Because I'm sure the car that took us has also left this place!"

Eventually they were forced to walk around a very long path to get to the base. Because the path they had passed was no longer safe. The enemy is all over the place, except the line. They were only faced with a few enemies who only carried long-barreled weapons.

"My teacher lives a little commander." Ryan told Ando.

"alright. Now it's your turn to take Julia. Me and Tony will protect you!"

"Good!"

Ryan lifted the body of Julia who was still unconscious at that time. Julia's leg seemed to have a crack, as a result of falling from the roof. Ryan who saw the blood flowing from Julia's bones that penetrated out, until it could not bear and finally vomited.

"Damn it! Not now! Can't you hold it?!" Tony was upset with Ryan's treatment.

Seeing the blood of others, Ryan vomited. Especially if he is injured, Ryan could be unconscious immediately. Ryan is a new member of this group. Understand that he vomited to see blood, because he was not used to seeing such things.

"Easy! Don't fuss! We better hurry up!" Ando's orders to both of them.

"Commander! We just stole that car. It looks like it can still be used!"

They then headed for a Jeep. The car can still be used. So they can get to the base quickly.

And on the way, Tony stopped his car.

"Why did you stop?!" Ask Tony.

"Are you going to take this car to headquarters? We can be shot. Because this is our enemy's car."

"alright. We continue walking from here. The base is in sight."

They return on foot, with Ando taking turns with Julia.
