The Civilian: Resurgence

The Civilian: Resurgence
Chapter 8

As a result of the exams they had been going through for almost two weeks, Ando and his two friends had to be treated first, so that their condition could recover. In a situation like this, their hearts were completely in anxiety. Seeing the truth, they seemed to not believe what they had experienced.

In their little hearts, they wondered,

"Is this what hunger and thirst are like? Is this what they've been feeling all along?"

Such questions continue to overshadow their minds. Begin to arise in their hearts, that all this time they have not only been deceived, but also been used to cover the disgrace of their government. There have been countless people sacrificed for this obscure mission.

As a soldier, Ando only carried out his duties. No more than that. He has no idea who is right and who is wrong. The most important thing is to do the job as you should.

They thought about it long enough. Try to organize each detail one by one. Everything they did from the beginning of the battle, until they reached this place. Ando does not know for sure where he is now. Clearly, this was a treatment room for the troops.

There are many nurses who are pacing around carrying medical equipment, and also drugs.

"Good morning."

Ando was startled by someone, who was suddenly already beside him. The man looked very old, but dressed like a young boy. With his hair neatly combed, and also his clothes were similar to that of a veteran soldier. The smell of water smelled from his clothes.

His smile was so friendly and soothing. Salim, the name is written on the right side of his shirt. With a tiger emblem painted on the left side of the shirt. Ando looked at the person with question marks.

"Who is this guy?"

The man sat down holding a cup of coffee that was still warm. The smell is so delicious.

"As you can see, this is the treatment room. All the injured troops would be treated in this place, until they were completely healed. But from what I've seen, you seem to heal faster than anyone else."

Ando looked around, and saw that his two friends were now in a critical state.

"What did you do to my two friends?" ask Ando to Salim.

"Just calm down the soldiers, we're trying hard to heal them both. But unfortunately, the other two members, did not survive Wikar's fist. He was so eager to finish off the two soldiers who had tried to kill you."

"Don't wonder. That's what we used to do. And it's well deserved for traitors like them."

"I'm sure, if you'd have understood, what hunger and thirst are."

That person momentarily looked at Ando's still pale face, and both of his lips were dry.

"We've felt that way. But we all survived. We survive and thrive. Until we all have all of this. That is us, the real fighters. Me, I'm just a veteran soldier. I have completed many terrible missions. It's common for me to see people killing each other. But have you ever thought? what's the point of all this?"

Ando just silently listened to the old man's words.

"When the government changed, we all decided to rebel. And I was the first one to join Wikar, after all his army ran out with no rest. His troops were also the same as the two people he had killed. They are all traitors. At first they were passionate in their struggles, but when they were hungry and thirsty, they made every effort to fill their stomachs."

"One of the disgusting things is, they don't hesitate to eat their own friends. And you certainly don't know about it, do you? I've guessed that all this time the government has been hiding everything. Especially to people like you. So that they can continue to use you, as the satisfaction of their desires."

"But it's okay. Everything has returned to how it was. We live in peace and tranquility. Well, surely if soldiers like you don't attack us. Any of you who come, we can always defeat. But it is different from a few days ago. I heard that one of the areas has been successfully occupied by the army. One of the soldiers got a medal for conquering a small region. Too bad, it should be for you. Aren't we?"

Ando remained silent, not saying a word. He was so sorry for his actions. Supposedly, who got the medal was Ando and his troops. No one else, just enjoying the results. Ando had taken pains to seize the place. But what General Hidi did was very disappointing.

"That's it. Don't think too much. Since all of that has passed, it is no longer useful. Now think about your health. And I'll make sure your two friends are safe. They have passed their critical period. They're just starving, so there's no need to cry."

"Oh yeah, enjoy this coffee after you eat. May it heal soon."

The man then left, and left a cup of coffee for Ando. Actually, Ando was eager to sip that coffee. But, he had to wait until the meal time arrived, only after that he would enjoy that delicious cup of coffee.

Elsewhere, **Wikar* is negotiating with a military commander. He wanted a territory belonging to*Wikar**, which would later be exchanged for weapons and ammunition in very large quantities. But **Wikar** already know, if this is just their strategy, to narrow down the territory of the **Wikar** and its troops.

"*Why? Do you agree? I can guarantee your victory. Provided, give me one territory. Hem*?"

"*Sialan*." says**Wikar**.

"*What*?!"

"*You're just a greedy bastard with power. You're all greedy. Don't you remember, how you behaved when we were just trash? Do you think I forgot all about it just by exchanging weapons? Nah! I won't be satisfied, before I finish you all*!"

The person then stands up, he does not accept with the threat of*Wikar**. But not because of that alone. All because they are ashamed, because they have been humbled. It used to be the military in power. However now, most of the territory of this country has been taken over by **Wikar**.

"*You should be aware! You are just a traitor! You colonized your own people, and turned this place into a battlefield! I'll tell all the soldiers where your hideout is, and you'll die*!"

When the man turned around, and wanted to leave, suddenly one of the members of the team*Wikar** greeted him with a weapon. Without mercy, the man beat the soldier in the face with the long shotgun he was carrying, until his head was crushed.

"*Clean all this. I don't want a single drop of their blood soiling our place*."

"*Reader*!"
