Episode 12: Remnants of rebel warriors.

At night, Zhang Zhen Wei and Li Tian decide to infiltrate a place suspected to be a hotbed of rebel remnants.

They tread carefully in the darkness of the night, avoiding any possible guard around the place. They moved with great agility, using their shadows and ingenuity to cross the vast courtyard undetected.

They were shocked to realize that the voice was the voice of the rebels who set up their new plan. The plan involved a surprise attack on government forces and holding several important officials hostage as political prisoners. Zhang Zhen Wei and Li Tian immediately understood that time was not on their side. They had to immediately stop this plan before it resulted in even greater chaos.

They decided to enter, act quickly and confront the rebels without hesitation. Once the door opened, they revealed their presence by pointing guns at the shocked rebels. Engaging in the fierce fight Zhang Zhen Wei and Li Tian were able to overcome the rebels with their strength and skill.

“So you are Chu Liang, Wei Chu's younger brother who was previously a rebel," Zhang Zhen Wei said.

Chu Liang only looked at Zhang Zhen Wei with a sharp gaze. Since childhood, she has always lived in the shadow of her older brother, Wei Chu. Wei Chu was renowned as a strong and courageous rebel leader against the tyrannical rule of their territory.

But after Wei Chu's death in a bloody battle, Chu Liang had to take over the responsibility as rebel leader. He lost the figure of his brother who respected him and felt anxious about the difficulties he had to face as a leader.

"No one in this government knows the nature of our rebellion movement,” Chu Liang said in a slow but firm voice. "Nobody really knows the struggle we've put in to fight for justice."

Zhang Zhen Wei let out a long sigh. He realized that Chu Liang's struggle was not merely a desire to fight against the government, but to bring justice and freedom to his marginalized people. However, he did not that all along who had been cruel to his people was Wei Chu itself.

Wei Chu was a cruel king and liked to carry out oppression against his people. He often took policies that harmed them in the interest of himself and the elite groups that supported him. Wei Chu's cruelty is evident by his frequent killings and torture of anyone who tried to resist or criticize him.

In addition, Wei Chu also frequently looted the property of his people. He arbitrarily took other lands and wealth to increase his own wealth and power.

Wei Chu's cruelty was not only limited to his people, but also to his family and political opponents. He did not hesitate to kill his family members and political enemies in a cruel and inhumane way. With the fall of Wei Chu, the people were able to breathe the air of freedom and live in a better environment. However, the former atrocities and traumas left behind by the Wei Chu regime, remained in the memories of the people reminding them of the dangers of irresponsible power.

Chu Liang who did not believe that, only chose to fight with Zhang Zhen Wei. While Li Tian, he was fighting against Chu Liang's subordinates.

However, Zhang Zhen Wei was not an easy opponent. He had fast reflexes and formidable fighting techniques. Chu Liang's attacks were quickly avoided by Zhang and counterattacked with great force.

However, Chu Liang could no longer continue his defense and ended up falling to the ground helplessly.

“Are you done too?" asked Li Tian who had just finished off some of Chu Lang's subordinates at the place.

“Ya,” replied Zhang Zhen Wei.

After the battle, they investigated the room and found evidence suggesting a wider network of insurgents and a greater threat. They recorded all the information they found and made plans to report it to the imperial side.

It was with relief that Zhang Zhen Wei and Li Tian exited the building, ensuring that the two of them managed to stop the threat. They walked together through a lonely night, relieved that they had performed their duty well and protected the security and stability of the country.

With this, there would be no more groups that would disturb Xia Mei. The rebel group wanted to seize the Xia family's assets to gain their personal gain. They did everything they could to attack Xia Mei and her family, including threatening and intimidating them.
