After the great battle was over, Li Tian and his troops immediately cleaned up the scattered corpses. They worked quickly and efficiently, collecting the corpses of the enemies and preparing them for burial. As they moved, the nose-piercing scent of blood and the sight of destruction around them reminded them of how ruthless the battle was. However, they did not have time to lament or reminisce because there was still a lot of work to be done.
Li Tian led his troops in organizing the battle, dividing the task between them wisely. Several soldiers were tasked with clearing the battlefield, removing dangerous ruins and repairing the damage done during the battle. Others were assigned to take care of the bodies and prepare mass funerals.
Amidst all that chaos, Li Tian had not forgotten the importance of respecting his fellow soldiers who had lost their lives in battle. He ordered his soldiers to bury them with great reverence and to arrange a proper burial.
After some time, the battlefield became more orderly. The corpses of the enemies that had been collected were stockpiled in a large grave, while the dead Li Tian soldiers were placed in separate graves. Li Tian conveyed words of sincere respect to every soldier who joined in their defense. He spoke of their courage, sacrifice and dedication in protecting this region.
After the funeral was over, Li Tian stood in the middle of the venerable tomb. He noticed the gentle blowing wind and a sense of sadness that was still felt in the air. He prayed for peace and good fortune for the fallen soldiers and promised to continue their fight for justice and freedom.
Li Tian's memory as a crosser from another world was still faint. However, he already remembered about himself in this world. The enemy that Li Tian had just faced along with the soldiers and villagers, was clearly soldiers from other kingdoms and rebel groups who joined and disguised themselves as bandits. They wanted to take control of this nameless village in the border region of the Han empire.
Luckily, Li Tian with his incredible bravery and fighting skills, managed to lead the soldiers and villagers to fight against the enemy forces. They managed to repel the attackers and restore peace in the village.
Right now, Li Tian was gathering with the villagers who had provided assistance on the battlefield. He looked at their eyes full of gratitude and appreciation. Li Tian was proud of their achievements.
He decided to find out more about their whereabouts and who was behind the attack.
Li Tian gathered the remnants of the weapons left behind by the enemy and checked the signs contained within. He tried to identify whether there were any links to other kingdoms or was there a mastermind behind the attack.
On his way, Li Tian met an old farmer who had knowledge of the surroundings. The farmer told Li Tian that there was a cave located in the forbidden forest on the border of the Han empire. The cave is said to be a hiding place for bandits.
On his way, Li Tian met an old farmer who had knowledge of the surroundings. The farmer told Li Tian that there was a cave located in the forbidden forest on the imperial border. The cave is said to be a hiding place for bandits.
Li Tian decided to go investigate on his own. He wanted to ascertain if it was true that the bandit group was soldiers from another kingdom in disguise.
After walking down the path to the forbidden forest for hours, Li Tian finally arrived before the mouth of the cave which was believed to be the hiding place of the bandits. Li Tian's heart was pounding in nervousness, yet his determination to find the truth prompted him to step forward.
Li Tian carefully entered the cave with his sword ready to be grasped tightly. The light that entered through the rock crevices illuminated the dark cave passage. Each step he took made a resounding sound on the surrounding walls, adding to the tension in his heart.
Entering into the cave that was deepening, Li Tian saw a slight bright light radiating from one corner of the cave. He approached and saw a group of people gathered inside.
But what made Li Tian shocked was not the fact that they were bandits, but rather that they were warlords from neighboring kingdoms allied with the traitors of the empire. They seemed to be discussing their plans to attack the imperial border.
Li Tian was shocked and furious. He could not allow this evil plan to happen. Silently, he turned around and exited the cave, to report this important finding to Emperor Han.
Li Tian already remembered about his mission to investigate the imperial traitor. That was the reason he and his army were sent to this nameless village in the border region.
Upon his return to the village, Li Tian and his troops instantly found out information about the imperial traitor. They asked the locals, interrogated suspicious people and checked every place suspected of being a nest of traitors.
But despite all efforts to investigate, Li Tian and his army were unable to find any concrete clues as to the identity of the traitor. They start to get frustrated as time goes on and they have not found an answer.
Just then, a villager named Mei Ling approached Li Tian. The thirty-year-old woman had a resolute yet friendly aura on her face. He told Li Tian that he had information that might be beneficial to his mission.
"He is an influential family head in this village,” Mei Ling said as she pointed to a man across the street. "His name is Wang Hao. He is rich and has a large following. Many people here believe that he has a bad relationship with the empire."
Li Tian observed Wang Hao closely. The man looked sharp and thoughtful and there was nothing suspicious on his appearance. Even so he couldn't just ignore Mei Ling's information.
Mei Ling replied "Some villagers said that they had heard Wang Hao's conversation with a suspicious foreign man. They talked about things they shouldn't hear including malicious plans against the empire."
Li Tian realized that this was the clue he needed. He thanked Mei Ling for her valuable information and immediately gathered his troops to monitor Wang Hao.
For days they observed Wang Hao's every move. They checked his residence, followed his steps outside and linked every clue they got. Eventually they managed to gather enough evidence to arrest Wang Hao and take him to the military office.
In the interrogation Wang Hao finally admitted that he was an imperial traitor. He had been in a relationship with a group of rebels who wanted to overthrow the empire. Wang Hao sold secret imperial information to the rebels including strategic plans and troop movements.
“Then, why do they want to control this border village?" asked Li Tian.
Wang Hao frowned, thinking for a moment before answering Li Tian's question.
"They want to control this border village because of its strategic position,” he finally replied. "This village is the main gateway to the imperial territory. If they manage to master it, they can easily enter the kingdom and attack from within."
Li Tian nodded, realizing how important this border village was to the security of the kingdom. He felt increasingly responsible for protecting and defending the village.
"We must immediately report this matter to our officials,” Li Tian said firmly. "We must not allow this village to fall into the hands of the rebels."
His troops agreed with Li Tian's words. They immediately left the room they were in and headed to the office of the official. They found that officials were already aware of the situation and were taking steps to deal with it.
"We will soon send additional troops to strengthen the defense of the border village,” a high-ranking official told Li Tian. "You're gonna lead this mission."
Getting this mission, Li Tian thought of asking the villagers for help again.
Li Tian decided to hold a meeting with the villagers to ask for their help in strengthening the defense of the border village. On the next day, Li Tian gathered all the villagers in the village hall and started the meeting.
"With the threat of outside attacks we need to strengthen the defense of our border village,” Li Tian said firmly. "I ask all of you to help me join this mission."
The villagers talked to each other in silence. They looked at each other looking anxious and hesitant. One of the villagers named Zhang Wei stood up and started the conversation.
"Li Tian we have given our best help the previous time. We have donated energy and resources in the defense of the village before. Do we really need to get involved in this mission?" zhang Wei asked in a doubtful voice.
Li Tian understood the concerns of Zhang Wei and the other villagers. However, he is also aware that they must unite and fight the threat together. He also gave a clear and convincing explanation.
"I understand that we have given a lot in the defense of the village before. However, the existence of this village and our future is at stake here,” Li Tian said excitedly. "If we don't take this step, our village could be the target of an attack and we'll lose everything we've built over the years."
Along with Li Tian's words, his spirit and determination to fight the threat began to rise among the villagers. They realized the importance of strengthening the defense of the border village and protecting the place they called home.
Finally after listening to Li Tian's explanation and discussing with each other, the villagers agreed to join the mission. They were willing to provide whatever manpower and resources they had in order to strengthen the defense of the border village.
Li Tian was relieved to see the spirit and cooperation of the villagers. He knew that with their help this mission would have a greater chance of succeeding. He promises to cooperate with the villagers and protect the place they love together.
But before that, Li Tian felt himself having to meet back with the Dragon in the misty forest. Li Tian was still hoping to get some help from him and wanted to ascertain some things like why he could cross into this world.
Seriate.
