THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME

THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME
Owner Of R8 GT

Zachary was surprised by Camilla's efficiency. He successfully completed all vehicle ownership transfers and registration procedures within an hour. A few minutes to 1 pm, he had already submitted his new Audi R8 GT registration papers in the Moller Bil customer service area.

Upon receiving the papers, Zachary began to grin broadly. He was very happy with the fact that he finally managed to get his first vehicle in both of his lives. For a moment, happiness swelled within him as if the noon sun had warmed his soul.

But while scanning the paper a moment later, his smile faded, his eyebrows fused into a frown. He was surprised to learn that he was still responsible for over 386,000 Norwegian Kroner as taxes on car purchases, insurance, and registration fees. That means that if Audi doesn't give him a vehicle for free, he'll have to spend more than 1.5 million NOKs to get a car with specifications similar to the R8 GT. The Norwegian tax on luxury vehicles is very high.

Nonetheless, he would never dream of handing over such a slim machine just because of taxes. So, he braced himself, paid the NOK 386K, and completed all transfer procedures without much consideration. He was able to cash out because he already received 400,000 NOKs as his monthly salary from Rosenborg, excluding bonuses.

"Do you have a SIM?" Camilla asked Zachary while handing over the keys to the Audi R8 GT. "Or do you prefer we arrange a driver to bring the car back to your place?"

"No need for a driver" Zachary replied, shaking his head. "I already have a SIM and can drive my own car."

Although this was the first time he had a car, he was sure he would have no trouble driving it. He already took compulsory driving lessons after graduating from the academy to receive his Norwegian SIM. In addition, he drove several times in a heavy-duty truck when things got tough during his previous life. So, he was confident with his driving skills— at least while maintaining a speed of less than 60 km/h.

"Okay, then," Camilla said with a smile. "Our mechanics have finished refining your R8 GT. They've moved him to the parking lot. Your new car is waiting for you. Thank you for considering Audi as a potential partner. If nothing else, I have to say goodbye to you because I have to report to my boss now. So, is there anything else?" She asked, her bright green eyes looking at Zachary excitedly.

"Not for now," replied Zachary, shifting gears to poker face mode. "I think you've completed all the procedures perfectly. Isn't that right, Ryan?" She added, turning towards the short man beside her.

"Oh, yes," Ryan said as he nodded. "It has to be everything. Unless you want to install additional accessories in the car, we can assume this purchase is complete."

"It should be so," said Zachary, turning towards Camilla. "I don't need anything else. You have completed everything that needs to be completed perfectly. Thank you." Thank you."

"Then, I'm happy," said Camilla, her entire face shining. "I have to report to my boss now. If you get any problems with the vehicle, please contact me. I'll try to help you as best I can. Otherwise, it's nice to meet you, Zachary. " He said, extending his slender hand to her.

"It's nice to meet you too" replied Zachary, grabbing her hand. "Thank you for all your help today." He added, inwardly heaving a sigh of relief as he was finally about to leave the dealer.

"Together," said Camilla, still smiling. "Should I tell your agent that you're waiting for him here?"

"Yes, please," replied Zachary.

"Okay, I'll tell him, '" he said. "I don't think you need to wait long. I'm sure they've finished the negotiations. If not, have a great day. And don't forget to call if there's a problem with the R8 GT."

"Yes, of course," Zachary agreed, nodding solemnly. But inside, he had already planned on throwing out a business card and never met Camilla again.

"Then, may the best, and may you enjoy your new journey" he said before turning around and exiting the conference room.

Zachary sighed as he watched his figure disappear through the sliding glass door on the far side of the customer service area. He could finally let go and relax.

"You like her?" Ryan asked from beside him.

"No, no," Zachary replied quickly, sounding defensive.

"Yes, right," said Ryan, smiling like a bad guy. "You don't have to worry. He also seems to think you're pleasing to the eye."

"And how do you know that?"

"He gave you his number" replied Ryan. "Didn't it?"

"His name card, not his number" Zachary replied as he shook his head. "It's just for business issues like when I got in trouble with the car. It means nothing."

"Then how do you explain he's constantly smiling every time he talks to you?" Ryan investigated, grinning and rubbing his hands together. "Not even once did he smile at me. Don't you think that's weird?"

"He's a car salesman" Zachary replied. "She will always smile at anyone who buys a vehicle. So, are you gonna let this go?"

"If you say so," said Ryan, patting Zachary on the back. "But believe me, I have an eye for these things."

"And who are you? Cupid, Yue Lao, or Freyja? Let it. Will you?"

Ryan nodded at hearing that. "Then, should we check out your R8 GT first? We can take it for a while near here."

"Okay, then," said Ryan. "That's your call because I'm just an intermediary in the commission."

"That reminds me," said Zachary, turning towards Ryan once more. "Remember to send me your bank details so I can transfer 1,000 NOK to you. Thank you for your help today."

"No problem, man," replied Ryan with a smile. "You can always call me when you need to buy any property in the future. If it's something in Europe, I'll be able to get it for you. Even if it's an item from outside of Europe, I have some colleagues who can help me acquire it. Emily can vouch for me on this."

Zakaria nodded. "It's okay" he said with a smile. "I'll remember if there's anything I need in the future. You can also contact me before the next race. I'd love to be present and see you hovering over the race track."

"Are you real?" Ryan investigated, leaning his head as if looking for confirmation on Zachary's face.

Zachary nodded in response.

Ryan grinned. "Then I'll send you an invitation when it's been two weeks for my next race" he said. "Please don't forget."

"Don't forget what?" Another voice said from behind them.

Both Zachary and Ryan almost jumped in shock because they did not expect Emily's voice to be heard from behind them.

"How did you sneak up on us?" Ryan asked, turning to look at Emily.

"Have you forgotten that I'm a lawyer" Emily replied, beaming.

Ryan sighed, looking at Emily curvingly. "So, law school is now teaching its students how to sneak into people. Where is this world going?"

Emily laughs. "Assistant Susanne just told me that you guys have finished all the paperwork," she said, turning towards Zachary. "Is that true?"

"Yes, the car is already on my behalf," Zachary replied with a grin. "All procedures are complete, and I'm already one of the proud owners of the Audi R8 GT. We're just waiting for you so we can leave."

"Congratulations," said Emily, patting Zachary on the back. "We should celebrate this occasion. Didn't we?"

"I'll take you to eat Pizza at Tyholt Tower after this" Zachary said with a grin. "That should be enough for today's celebration."

"Tyholt Tower," muttered Emily, seemingly thinking about the name. "Isn't that where people go to enjoy a meal in a restaurant spinning 74 meters above the ground?"

"Yes, that's all," Ryan interrupted, rubbing his hands together. "They've got a really good pizza, probably one of the best in Trondheim."

"Then I would love to go there," said Emily, smiling at Zachary.

"Are you done with Susanne?" Zachary asked.

"Yes, we have completed the outline of the contract documents," Emily replied, her voice becoming formal. "But we will meet again tomorrow to discuss the individual clauses in the contract. I'll tell you about the progress of the negotiations. So, don't worry and focus on your training."

"OK," Zachary agreed. "But what do you think of this deal?"

"I think it's perfect" Emily said, beaming. "Audi sponsors many athletes in Norway and Europe in general. So, they are a good choice as one of your long-term partners. But let's finish the negotiations first. I'll get a proper picture of their sincerity towards you then."

"Then, I'm happy" said Zachary. "Thank you for your hard work."

"Together" replied Emily. "And that's my job. I hungry. Should we leave this place and enjoy the pizza?"

"Agreed."

"Agreed."

Both Zachary and Ryan agreed. And they set off from the dealership, heading for Tyholt tower for the pizza. They drive in a convoy— never exceeding 40 Km/h, even on roads with less traffic, to give Zachary a chance to adjust to his new engine.
