The Heavenly Tiger Swordsman

The Heavenly Tiger Swordsman
The New City Lord

The streets of the central city were very crowded that morning, not only the townspeople were there but also they were warriors visible from the weapons they carried either on their waists or backs.

Whether it was a Free swordsman or a warrior from a sect, enthusiastic expressions almost certainly appeared on their faces their marks were very welcoming the tournament soon.

Hao Zhao, Yue Yie as well as Yang Gao became one of those who enlivened the streets of the city. Where each of them is heading to one place the tournament is said to be held.

Hao Zhao throughout his journey there, was continuously made to feel uneasy by how Yue Yie looked so alarming when walking with him.

Yue Yue's face looked so bright red, no matter how much Yue Yie's face was covered in cloth though, still Hao Zhao realized that because the thin cloth can not cover the full hue of the face.

“Yie, you're sick. It's better to stay in the Treasure Lantern alone, it's not good to force yourself like this" Hao Zhao said.

Yue Yie briefly gasped at Hao Zhao's remark before saying, “I'm fine, Brother Zhao. Don't worry."

“Really? Even if you look like this? I'm sure at least your body temperature must be high until your face can blush this badly," Hao Zhao revealed what was the source of his worry to Yue Yie.

Yue Yie immediately turned her head to look at Hao Zhao, her gaze looking questionable before smiling amusedly. He was beginning to understand himself if Hao Zhao seemed to misunderstand something.

“Sister Zhao, my face is flushed like this not because of pain or the like but ...."

Yue Yie did not continue her words because she was confused as to how to tell Hao Zhao.

“Play what?" asked Hao Zhao who had been so curious.

“Our cloak ... is similar," Yue Yie said softly almost inaudible.

Hao Zhao only raised his eyebrows, naturally understanding himself what Yue Yie meant. Yue Yie usually always wore a pretty dress for her daily life, now Yue Yie replaced it with a Main disciple robe similar to what she wore. One thing that Hao Zhao did not understand was what the relationship between the robe was similar to a flushed face.

Yue Yie realized Hao Zhao's questioning gaze at her, which obviously made Yue Yie annoyed not understanding how Hao Zhao could be so insensitive to her feelings.

“Yie, the thin cloth covering your face changed. Are you pouting now?" ask Hao Zhao.

“Silence, Brother Zhao. Don't make me any more upset" Yue Yie said, throwing away her face, where both of her cheeks had indeed puffed up in annoyance.

Hao Zhao was finally only able to scratch his head which did not itch because of Yue Yie's behavior, not understanding himself where his words or actions were wrong until Yue Yie could get angry.

“Buahaha, I never thought at my age could still be so entertained to see the romance of a pair of young generations," Yang Gao said as he chuckled softly after hearing the conversation between Yue Yie and Hao Zhao.

Hao Zhao himself ultimately preferred to be quiet afterwards, not wanting to try again speaking fearfully Yue Yie got angrier at him.

After that it did not take long until Hao Zhao, Yue Yie as well as Yang Gao reached the center of the city where everyone in Dahan Gutur city seemed to be located.

There have indeed been so many people circling a simple stage quite large in the middle of the streets of his city.

Around the battle arena itself there are different seats that have been prepared for different individuals or groups as well.

One of the most luxurious areas was so close to his battle arena, where there had been seen quite a few people that Hao Zhao recognized two of him as the city lord as well as his daughter.

For the seating area itself is still empty, as deliberately emptied for about three people who knows.

In addition to the luxurious seating, the other seating area has been fully filled by the owner. Where could Hao Zhao guess just by taking a quick look if they were mostly part of a small sect that his younger generation would follow in the tournament.

In the simplest seating area is also similar in full, where almost all of them are Free warriors who will participate in the tournament. That could be known to Hao Zhao because Hao Zhao recognized one of them who was none other than Jian San was sitting in one of his chairs.

“Free Warrior turned out to be still not considered so valuable even now," muttered Hao Zhao realized how lame the seating provided for them was with the warriors from the sect.

Outside of those who were entitled to sit, the spectators who were mostly residents of the city were also those immigrants who were deliberately present to watch, the crowd said, must stand each of them around the battle arena with a barrier so as not to get too close for their own safety.

Hao Zhao himself only followed Yang Gao's steps back then, not understanding whether he should go or sit where so that was all he could do.

“Sister Zhao, don't be friendly with him" Yue Yie said.

Hao Zhao immediately raised his eyebrows at Yue Yie's sudden remark, only to want to question what he meant as soon as Hao Zhao knew what the reason Yue Yie had said that was.

Not far in front of him was the city lord with his daughter smiling kindly to welcome him, Yue Yie was also Yang Gao who was indeed approaching them.

“Mr Gao, I initially questioned what my Daughter said was the truth or not if you were coming. Who would have thought that was the truth so it was not wrong for me to prepare these three benches for you as well as the Young Master and Young Miss of your sect," Meng Kiao said as she bowed in salute.

What Meng Kiao did was soon followed by her daughter Meng Dali, as well as the imperial soldiers who were there to guard the two.

“Hahaha, no need to overdo it. I came just to watch one of my sect Master disciples join the Young Seed tournament invitation race after all," Yang Gao said as he glanced at Hao Zhao beside him.

Hao Zhao only nodded at Meng Kiao in response to the respect she was given, making the impression of positional differences so clearly visible there.

Meng Kiao immediately raised her eyebrows realizing that Hao Zhao was only giving a nod in return and not a respectful back at her, which obviously bothered her despite not being able to show her displeasure because Yang Gao was there.

“Damn it, young people like you dare not pay me any respect" muttered Meng Kiao.

Yang Gao noticed Meng Kiao's change in expression after what Hao Zhao was doing immediately laughed loudly, not thinking what Hao Zhao was doing was wrong as the Treasure Lantern sect was indeed much larger than the Meng noble family itself so what Hao Zhao was doing was a normal thing to just pay respect to those who are equal are also those who are above it.

“These nobles have always considered themselves higher than others and this sucks, never changing even from the past," Yang Gao slowly tried to give understanding to Hao Zhao.

“You're right, Uncle Gao," Hao Zhao said to Yang Gao, indeed he deliberately did that to check if what the new city lord's temperament was like and did not seem to be much different from most nobles.
