The next day...

Jennifer woke up from her sleep, the woman immediately cleaned herself up. After he finished bathing and getting dressed, he immediately came out of his room. Some of the servants who were still there greeted him. But again Jonathan was nowhere to be seen.

Jennifer felt their quarrel last night should be discussed well soon. He and Jonathan were both emotional so they didn't speak calmly last night. Jennifer immediately asked one of the servants there about Jonathan's whereabouts. But the waiter instead told him to meet Jonathan's assistant in Jonathan's study.

Jennifer's headed straight for Jonathan's office. The woman went inside without knocking again. A man was surprised, but after seeing Jennifer, the man actually showed his smile.

"Good morning Mrs Carlos" said the man, "i am Charles the assistant to Mr. Carlos" he added.

"Good morning, Mr. Charles, where is my husband?" ask Jennifer.

"I've come to pick you back to the great house of Mr. Carlos. While Mr. Carlos had gone abroad last night because of a sudden business deal" replied Charles.

Jennifer was surprised, her husband just left her on the night of their bride. The man left her after a big fight last night. Jennifer's lips began to tremble as she held back her cries. The pain in his heart grew.

"You don't have to pick me up" Jennifer chirped as she ran out of the room.

One month later...

Instead of going home to Jonathan Carlos, Jennifer chose to go back to Grace's house. Of course the woman had high self-esteem after being abandoned by her husband.

Jonathan is a famous businessman, so the movements of the man are always reported on television and newspapers. The man looked very healthy and very happy without looking like he was having problems in his household.

There was even one gossip article about her marriage, comment comments were very cruel because it continued to corner Jennifer. The habit of Jonathan Carlos who often plays with many women actually proves that his marriage is only an excuse to cover up the gossip. There is even one article that says, Jonathan went on their wedding night because he could not stand his usual wife.

"Stop reading the news like that, Jenny," Grace said, "I still can't believe your attitude, why you came back here when your husband was on a business trip. Look at the consequences of your actions, you continue to be insulted by them" he added with annoyance.

Jennifer knew her aunt was so angry when she returned home the day after her wedding, that Jennifer brought back her big suitcase.

"He left me first. I will never go home to Carlos' mansion because I know he will definitely divorce me. I'll never bring Velly into his house."

"Omong is empty, don't act any more stupid than this, leave Velly with me, I've loved him like my own son. And as for the divorce, there's not a single article that says Carlos is going to divorce you" Grace said.

"Aunty, you don't know what Jonathan looked like when he insulted me, accused me of being sneaky, even left me with disgust and hatred for me."

"Whoever will be angry, in just one night you expose all your secrets and make him a father, anyone will be shocked and difficult to accept" Grace reminded.

"But that doesn't mean Jonathan has to insult me by wanting to do a DNA test, he even said that Velly was an illegitimate child. It hurt my aunt's self-esteem" replied Jennifer sadly.

"It's not an insult, Jonathan Carlos just wants the truth of what you said. It's also true, Velly was born without a father."

Jennifer began to be provoked by emotions, because indirectly, her aunt also said that her daughter was an illegitimate child. But before the debate began, a waiter approached them with a new newspaper. Jennifer picked up the newspaper and started reading it.

"Don't look for news about your husband in the papers. I'm sure none of the news is true" Grace said.

Jennifer was wide-eyed, her eyes were beginning to glaze over. Grace immediately seized the newspaper out of curiosity. Grace was shocked when she saw the paper. There's a picture of Jonathan being with a woman at a cafe. They both look like lovers.

"Isn't this woman Francisca?" ask Grace.

Jennifer nodded her head, "it's just fine that she hasn't been telling me anything for a month, but she's been with Francisca."

"I can't believe it, maybe it was just a coincidence that he met his ex-girlfriend" Grace said, staring at her sad-looking ponies.

Jennifer finally let out her tears, her marriage turned out to be completely destroyed just overnight. Grace who could not bear to see Jennifer crying, finally hugged the woman.

"You should call Jonathan to ask Jenny the truth. Stop thinking for yourself" Grace said.

The sound of knocking on the door surprised them, Grace asked her servant to open the door. Shortly after, the waiter approached them and said that someone was looking for Jennifer.

Jennifer immediately calmed down, after succeeding the woman was immediately out with Grace. Two men were waiting for them in the living room. One man was Charles, Jonathan's assistant. The other man looked like a doctor because of his clothes.

"I'm sorry Mrs Carlos for bothering you so early in the morning. We were given orders by Mr. Carlos to take a DNA sample of your daughter" Charles said.

Jennifer was wide-eyed, "i turned her down, obviously I don't agree."

"The test has to be done by Jenny" said Grace firmly, "when Carlos knew that if Velly was really her daughter, all these problems would be better" he added.

"Right what Miss Grace said, Mr. Carlos is quite stubborn, only evidence can make him believe all this mistress," Charles assured.

"Jenny, this decision is correct" Grace said.

"I still can't believe I have to do this auntie. I want to calm down, help me keep Velly back."

"Go away. Don't worry about your daughter."

Jennifer nodded her head as she walked out of Grace's house to the beach just behind the house.

Jennifer's been walking along the beach. Without footwear, he stepped on the sand of the beach while enjoying the sea breeze. For a moment his mind began to calm down from the problems that continued to happen to him. Then suddenly a hand patted her on the shoulder, making Jennifer gasp and almost scream.

"It's me, Kevin." said one man.

Jennifer turned her body and let out a long sigh.

"You surprised me Kevin."

"I was hesitant, but it turns out you're the Jennifer I know. But I think you're getting prettier and sexier" Kevin teased.

Jennifer just smiled lazily in response to Kevin's remarks.

"What are you doing here?" ask Kevin.

"Don't you see it, I'm walking around" Jennifer replied, "you better not follow me Kevin, me and you're both married" he added.

"I know, but I just want to talk to you for a minute."

"There's nothing else we should talk about, I don't want to..."

Not finished Jennifer spoke, the woman actually tripped over a rock and almost fell if Kevin did not catch it.

"You okay?" ask Kevin.

"Thank you, Kevin, I'm fine" Jennifer replied, breaking away from Kevin.

"I know you're not happy, there's a lot going on in your life, I see the newspapers about your husband and your marriage. Actually I also need entertainment, because my household is in ruin, I'm going to divorce Magdalena" said Kevin to surprise Jennifer.

"I think you're a good match."

"Perhaps in some people's eyes we look harmonious, but the fact that Magdalene betrayed me, she cheated on me with her coworkers."

Jennifer patted Kevin on the back, she was so sorry for the story. Just like Kevin, his household is now on the verge of collapse.

"I'm sorry Kevin."

"If we had been together, maybe..."

"It's Kevin's past, we already have our own destiny" Jennifer said.

Kevin did love Jennifer when they were in college, but Jennifer rejected him because he had fallen for Jonathan Carlos since he knew her at the time of his internship at JC company.

"I know Jenny, your husband left you and went back with his ex-girlfriend, right?"

Jennifer closed her eyes for a moment, "it's not true, it's just gossip."

"Then what about the news about your daughter Grace, is she really Carlos's son with you?"

"Right," replied Jennifer flatly, "Kevin. I think it's enough to get here, I really need time alone" he added.

"Oh well, I'm sorry to bother you. But, if you need anything, you can call me. My cell phone number remains a long one" Kevin replied.

"Well, thank you," Jennifer said, leaving Kevin for nothing.

Maybe Kevin's phone number hasn't changed, but Jennifer has long since removed the man's number from her phone.
