Lu Fang walked out of the study room, wiped his tears and his face turned angry. He approached Lu Lian and slapped her with all his might until the girl fell.

Lu Fang did not care about the agonizing cry of his daughter, when recalling that Lu Lian had almost made all of her family members wretched and was at risk of being resold, the anger she held out unstoppable.

Slaves resold by their employers would be treated badly and would even be sold to brothels by being lowly prostitutes, others would not buy slaves that were resold several times out of fear for the slaves' bad persona, there was no way they would be sold more than once if there was nothing wrong with them.

The scary thing for people who buy slaves is getting bad slaves because it is not only disloyal, it is, they can even cause the destruction of a single family if a family secret or something the public should not know comes out of their mouths.

Lu Fang pulled Lu Lian into the room. "Why did you make that mistake Lian?!! Have you not heard your mother anymore?! Don't dream of a stupid girl, be aware of where you are. Your actions are not only harming yourself, even your own father and sister. Why are you so selfish?"

This is the first time his mother slapped him. Lu Lian held her sore face and stared in disbelief at her mother.

"You hit me mom?".

"I did it to wake you up. Don't dream too high! Lucky madam is very good not to bother about your mistakes and even wants to give up your status as a slave. You see how good madam is, you must bow down in gratitude".

Lu Lian's eyes widened. "Mrs renounce my status as a slave?!" He thought that Lu Xiang would make her a concubine and give up her slave status, the pain in her cheeks instantly disappeared hearing the good news.

"Yes. You're very lucky. Our mistress is very kind, she even found you a good man to be a husband".

Lu Lian's smile froze. Adelia wanted to marry him to another man? Not with Lu Xiang?!. He realized that it was the kindness of his master because he was afraid that he would take the love of his husband away from him!!.

"Who did he marry me to?"

"Mom doesn't know. Madam said she'd find a nice guy in the village to be your husband. You don't have to be afraid of being treated badly at your in-laws' house for having a family backing mistress". Lu Fang smiled happily but his smile disappeared looking at Lu Lian who did not appreciate Adelia's kindness at all.

"I don't want to. I don't want mom!! I want to marry Lu Xiang!!".

"That's enough!! How dare you call your own master's name?! I'm telling you Lu Lian, if you do something that can harm your family then I'll kill you myself, I don't want to have a selfish child who is selfish".

So much kindness that Adelia did to their family, she would feel very sorry if Lu Lian still made a mistake and intended to bite the kind person to let go and give her freedom.

Lu Lian immediately hid the unwilling expression on her face from not wanting to be hit again by her mother. He had to do something before it happened, he did not want to marry a poor man and smelled of dirt and sweat.

Later that night Lu Lian ran away with a few pieces of clothes and money that her mother had saved. It's better that he leave here than be married to a dishonorable man.

Lu Niang and the two female servants were shocked to hear the news of Lu Lian running away, especially when they found out that Adelia had already kindly given up the status of a slave for the young girl. They did not understand the way the girl thought that would rather escape than be free from the status of a slave.

What by running away, will the other men make her a concubine? Of course not. The runaway slaves were troubled slaves, the men would not bring or even make problematic slave concubines as it would bring danger to them. It was a thing that Lu Lian did not think of at all because of her obsession with wanting to become a concubine of a respectable family.

Lu Fang, Lu Cai and the young Lu Feng kowtowed apologetically as Lu Xiang's family was having breakfast for the mistakes made by their son and brother. Lu Fang even regretted not tying Lu Lian up so as not to be able to escape because he had not expected his son's decision at all.

Lu Xiang snorted in annoyance. In the morning there was a problem that caused him to have a headache. He stared intently at the family that was standing before him. "You do realize that Lu Lian is making a big deal right?"

"Hamba is aware of the master" The three replied in unison.

"So I will punish you for not properly educating your own children. Or do you make your child think that way? That running away is better than being free and detached from slave status?".

"D-no!! Of course not sir. We never think like that, trust us!". Lu Fang and Lu Cai became extremely frightened.

Lu Xiang looked intimidatingly at the couple then smiled sinisterly. "It's good if you don't think like that. Adelia was very kind to free Lu Lian from slavery but the girl did not appreciate it, as your family was sentenced to three months of observation. I will not pay you for three months and will consider you as servants during this observation stage, use this opportunity well".

Lu Fang and Lu Cai smiled happily and bowed in thanks. "We will remember him, sir. Thank you for giving us a chance. Thank you very much sir".

The three people prostrated themselves again before leaving the dining room.

"I'm sorry Lu Xiang. It'smy fault". Adelia did not expect her decision to cause trouble.

Lu Xiang smiled gently, the cold expression on his face had long since disappeared, he reached out and pulled Adelia into his lap.

"It's not your fault, baby. You've decided well but that's the only girl whose mind is in error and can't think far. You don't have to feel guilty for people who don't deserve your kindness, do what you need to do. I will always support you".

"Lu Xiang" Her husband never blamed anything he did or decided, the respect and respect from her husband made Adelia feel moved and made her love deeper.

Lu Xiang kissed Adelia's lips quickly and sat her back in the chair beside her. A ignorant yet affectionate smile was created on the lips of the man looking at his stunned wife with a blushing face.

"Sister Xiang. Why did Lu Lian run away? Is it because he is afraid of punishment? I know she dreamed of being your concubine".

Lu Xiang was choked by the drink when he heard Lu Cheng's words.

Adelia was surprised too. "Where do you know that?"

"God! I caught him several times looking at Brother Xiang with a disgusting look, he was dreaming too high". The disgust made Lu Cheng lose his appetite. He had long disliked Lu Lian who was always two-faced, trying to use her to get close to her brother.

"Sister Xiang. Don't throw charm to and fro and get a lot of foxes interested in you. I don't want anyone to hurt Adel's brother into this house".

Adelia coughed, her lips unable to hold back a smile. Lu Cheng behaved like a parent who was lecturing his son.

"Hey boy, take care of your own business. I never had any intention of having a concubine" Lu Xiang did not expect that one day he would be lectured by his own sister. However he could not get angry because Lu Cheng did it for Adelia.

Lu Cheng snorted in satisfaction. "It's good that you think that way".

Adelia's shoulders shook withholding laughter. He felt funny and moved by Lu Cheng's words. Such a pleasant feeling.

"Lu Cheng's. Who's Lu Lian are you talking about?" Lu Shan waited for an opportunity to ask over his confusion.

"Lo Feng's brother"

"ah! I also don't like that woman, she often scolded Lu Feng for playing with me". Lu Shan waved his lips in light of Lu Lian's harsh words to Lu Feng, he liked the man who was two years older than him because he was always patient to play with him and did not want to see him cry because of the snapping of his brother.

Lu Cheng stroked his sister's hair. "You did the right thing".

Lu Shan nodded in satisfaction. His decision turned out to be right, he had started to be smart in deciding things.

The strange atmosphere at the dining table lasted until breakfast was over.
