The Missing SOFIA

The Missing SOFIA
Bab~77

"Aril already has the girl of her dreams, her first love is back and I hope you don't interfere with their relationship. But once Aril is very obedient to his family, if they want you to be a match he certainly cannot refuse. But you also do not want to marry a man who has not moved on with his past? because after all first love will always have its own place in his heart."

George's words at the restaurant this afternoon were so ringing in Sofia's head, that now he and his father had passed into her residence.

"Darling, are you okay ?" asked James who seemed worried when he saw his daughter was seen silent in his chair.

"Hm, I'm just tired." Sofia reasoned.

"All right, we'll be here soon. You can soak in hot water later." James said.

"Can I ask you something ?" ask Sofia later.

"Say, if Daddy knows for sure Daddy will answer." said James, looking at his daughter while he was driving his car.

"Do you know each other well? I mean Mr. Mark and his son George." Sofia said with a slightly curious face.

"Of course we knew for decades before you were even born, Mr. Mark was such a loyal employee that Mr. William entrusted some of his hotels to him. Because Daddy himself is also busy with Daddy's business." said James later.

"Do you have a problem ?" he looked at his daughter.

Sofia shook her head. "I just want to get to know more about our company's business relationship" he said later.

"Alright, Daddy understands. Thank you for caring about the company, because after all all Daddy's business will be yours later especially you. You know for yourself how promising your sister is, so you're the only one Daddy can rely on right now." James seemed to stretch out his hand and rub the top of his daughter's head and it made Sofia moved, he did not expect so much hope his father had on him and he promised to study more vigorously.

"I'm sorry Dad who to this day can't call you Daddy." he muttered later, somehow it didn't feel willing when the father's call was pinned to a man other than his adoptive father.

The next day.....

"Ar, are you busy ?" george asked as he entered Aril's room.

"Lumayan." said Aril from his chair.

George seemed to pull the chair and threw his body weight there. "You know, I still can't believe that the mud girl is uncle James's daughter" he said.

"That's how it is." - Aril in the midst of his busy work checking his work that morning.

"So by the way are you guys going to get back together ?" george asked with a curious face.

"No, Papa decided to free us to choose a life partner." said Aril.

"Good so you won't be burdened by your parents' wishes." George gave his opinion.

"You mean ?" tanyanya did not understand.

"I did reject the match and you know I just thought Jessica was like my sister, but not Sofia like I liked her" Aril said.

"Are you joking? remember she's the mud girl you once hated Ar, even you made everyone bully her." George reminded them of their past.

"I've never felt this kind of interest in a girl, maybe even since our first meeting at that time" said Aril who seemed to remember his first meeting with Sofia, how the girl bravely scolded him just because he accidentally passed through a puddle of water and hit his clothes.

"I think you just feel guilty about her, Ar, you have to be able to tell which one you feel sorry for or like and I think it's just Helena the woman you like that makes you willing to turn down some girl who likes you all this time just to expect her to come back from Paris." said George who tried to convince his best friend, he had known him since childhood and he knew the man always believed in him.

"Sofia already has a lover and her heart belongs to another man, not you" George said.

"That wasn't necessarily true before I heard from his own lips." - Aril, because he felt that the girl had the same feelings as him even as he kissed her - he seemed to enjoy her so much.

"But he told me everything Ar, how he liked Adams who had always been by his side. Doesn't a woman's feeling like that, always carried away if there is a good man to her ?" sela George with a little bit of a story.

"Where do you know ?" Aril immediately frowned looking at his best friend.

"Today I had a meeting with him and Uncle James, since we had the chance to chat together then I asked him about his relationship with Adams because they looked close at the time and did you know what he said? she loved Adams so much and wanted to marry him." - George told a lie that of course made Aril look at her in disbelief.

Either he has to believe his own feelings or the words of his best friend who for decades they have been friends are always loyal to him.

He used to trust his feelings very much but in fact his lover was having an affair with his own friend, then how can he now be sure again his feelings?

Then Aril moved from his seat and took his coat which he had previously sipped on the back of his chair. "Ar, where are you going ?" ask George then.

"I have a meeting this morning, if you still want to wait for me here please." said Aril as he stepped out of the room.

Seeing the man's departure, George seemed to be staring at him flat. "I'm sorry Ar, as your best friend for 20 years, of course I love you but I also have to think about my future. If you marry Helena, then automatically we will become brothers and my future will be more assured." she murmured later, considering his father was only an employee at Smith's company and his position at any time could be replaced by someone else.

In the afternoon Sofia seemed to just get out of her class after her college hours were over and since being introduced by her father, she saw a lot of changes to her friends who had suddenly become familiar with her, except for Rebeca and some of her best friends who seem to always avoid her.

But it didn't matter to him, because he was sure the girl and her friends wouldn't dare to mess with him considering they were just students and he owned half the shares here.

After that Sofia decided to immediately go home and go to the office of the father, while walking down the corridor suddenly her hands were pulled by someone and then carried her into a room.

"Release !!" sofia shouted as someone suddenly locked her body behind the door in a very dark room that made her unable to see who the man was.
