Changyi walked down the deserted hallway of the palace. The light of the full moon shone down the long corridor, creating shadows that danced on the stone walls. His steps rang through the smooth marble floor, creating a sound that felt striking in the silence.
He looked around carefully, trying to remember every detail around him. The palace is so big and complicated, with winding alleys and hidden doors. Changyi felt like he was trapped in a cleverly designed secret labyrinth.
"Where's the room?" He murmured, a little irritated. At this point, he had already gone through the passageway more than 3 times.
Tomorrow was the wedding day that started Bai Xue's plight. Changyi wanted to avoid that from happening. Especially when he is in his own character. It's running out of time.
Emperor Lei was someone who was extremely selfish and power crazy. There was no way she would cancel her marriage because the emperor wanted to take on the experts of the human world.
Using the bridge that Bai Xue and Junhui had made, he intended to make the human world his puppet for his grand plan - defeating the gods.
Hence, Changyi knew there was no point in persuading the emperor to cancel his fiancee. The only quickest way he could do that was to escape his plot.
After sunset, Changyi plans to escape the palace while everyone is asleep through a secret door he once created.
'Hundreds of years ago, when a war between demons and gods broke out, a young farmer made a door connecting the world of demons and humans to meet his lover, the 3rd princess of the Lei empire.
The queen mother, knowing the plan of the farmer, was furious with the 3rd princess. The princess and the farmer have been in a relationship without her knowledge for years. He tried to stop the princess from escaping.
But the farmer had made an invisible door in the palace, so that the queen mother could not find where the princess went.No one could chase after her and the princess.'
Changyi was a little sorry to write that part now. He should have written down the location of the door more specifically if he knew the situation would be like this.
Every demon that comes out into the human world must have permission from the emperor. The door is a good solution because its existence cannot be detected by demons. Especially without the permission of the emperor.
If this is based on what I wrote, the door should really exist
BRUKK..
Changyi rubbed the trunk of his nose that had just hit something. Taking a few steps back, he lifted his head and saw the back of a young man who was high before him.
Changyi's body froze on the spot hearing a familiar voice. His gaze fell on the silhouette of a woman standing not far from the young man.
"What is Miss doing here?" Qing Jiaohua asked who was similarly surprised by Changyi.
In the story, this should not have happened. Qing Jiaohua should be at her master's place right now to discuss their next move.
Why did he show up here? Changyi never wrote this part.
"Daughter, are you okay?"
The soft voice struck Changyi back at reality. His pupils made perfect, realizing he had dug his grave. Glancing at the young man's face, Changyi could see his face clearly under the lantern.
"Pulp.. Junhui..?" Changyi muttered, in disbelief. He did not expect the anatahonist to appear this early. At the very least, he hopes that tomorrow will be his first day if his plan to escape fails.
Changyi tried to calm himself down which was a little panicked. He felt his heart beating fast. Changyi knew he had to be careful with every word he said, as one small mistake could prove fatal in the future.
"S, I'm fine," Changyi replied, concealing his uneasiness of meeting the antagonist. "I was on my way to see my father. What are you doing here?"
".. I heard you're not feeling well. So I asked the emperor to postpone his marriage for a while"
Changyi could feel the sharp gaze observing him. He tried to think quickly how to respond. However, nothing appeared in his head other than the panic that began to eat him back. Silent, he could only smile stiffly.
Why would Wang Junhui suggest the marriage be postponed?! The emperor should have replaced his successor! The emperor did not even know Bai Xue had actually fallen ill!!
If the emperor agreed to Wang Junhui's request, it meant that Changyi could not move freely as he would be closely watched until he was fully healed and married off!!
"I. cherish it.." The lie Changyi finally forced out of her mouth in annoyance.
