Budi and Andi immediately moved towards Bu Lasmi's house. They arrived there during the day. Rumah Bu Lasmi deserted, no one inhabited after mbok Jum also went back to the next village.
Although only abandoned a few days a large house near the forest it looks spooky unkempt. Either because of the mystical aura that is still left behind from various heirlooms belonging to Bu Lasmi or is it because of the haunted air that was deliberately exhaled so that no one dared to approach the house.
What is clear is that the villagers are terrified because of the unnatural death of Bu Lasmi coupled with rumors that the female genie and small demon figure become the guardian of Bu Lasmi's house. The news of Asih's death of her adopted daughter also sticking, so that no one wants to come closer or just asked for help to turn on the lights by mbok Jum.
Mbok Jum actually wants to stay there, he feels a lot of debt to Bu Lasmi. But Asih's shadow always made him sad until he decided to leave the house. Mbok Jum wants to calm down, and enjoy his old days even though he has to go through his lonely days without children.
Well, Jum's husband died a few years ago from illness. People say her husband was hit hard and Miss Lasmi became the first person to help, she also financed the life of mbok Jum so far.
Budi, Andi along with several other police members walked slowly monitoring around.
"Remember the situation, I'm sure Darsono is here!" shout Budi to the others.
"Are you sure of your guess? This is a place where the weather is not good really, I'm aja ogah living here even though it's a luxurious house." Andi said while watching the house of Miss Lasmi.
"The best hiding place is one that people rarely visit, right?" Budi. "I saw him enter the old barn with the young man whose name was Ardi. If I'm right Darsono's in that little house."
Andi and the other comrades nodded, they walked vigilantly towards the small cottage beside the old barn.
Budi gave the code to others to walk around the cottage, closing the exit access so that Darsono did not run away. Once all is ready, Budi knocks on the wooden door hoping Darsono comes out of hiding.
"Assalamualaikum, is anyone home?" I peek inside the house from behind the window.
There is no authenticating from within, activity is not heard from within. Quiet, like an uninhabited house.
"Hallo, good morning! Is anyone here?" Then again he cried out, and again no one answered.
"Who are you looking for?" a hoarse voice sounded shocking from behind.
Budi and Andi turned, apparently mbok Ratem. Budi and Andi looked at each other then approached Mbok Ratem slowly.
"We're looking for the old man who lives in this cottage, what symbology has he ever seen?" tanya Budi probing.
Mbok Ratem replied with a nod, his face almost expressionless only his mouth was always actively moaning.
"He, where's mbok?" ask Andi curious.
"I never saw him again after yesterday. Maybe he's gone!" mbok Ratem replied as he turned around to leave them.
Budi suddenly remembered something, Wak Haji once told him that Ratem mbok was a powerful woman. He hurriedly prevented mbok Ratem from leaving.
"Wait a minute, I know the symbols understand what's going on here. Can you please show me where the old man is?!"
Mbok Ratem who refused to answer immediately stopped when Budi's hand touched his shoulder. He slowly turned towards Budi. Both eyes mbok Ratem, covered with a thin gray membrane makes Budi choked.
"Take the man away from my village! He's at the end of the road, quickly help him and get rid of my village!"
Mbok Ratem loudly spoke to Budi. It shows the small road that Budi took the other day. Mbok Ratem turned his face away for a moment, then said again.
Budi did not know what to say, he just nodded in doubt. "Yes, uh, mbok,"
He ordered the others to follow him immediately. They headed for a small road that split through the misty forest even though noon was approaching.
Mbok Ratem smiled cynically, "It's time to clean up the village! The second chance I gave you guys has been abused. So don't blame me if I'm forced to kill!"
Budi down the grassy streets with other police colleagues. Their eyes are looking for movement.
"Please, help me!" there was a faint groaning sound from one of the basins covered in wild plants.
Andi heard that groaning voice. "Sssst, did you guys hear that?" she screamed while putting her index finger on her lips.
"To-long .., I've been ti-no strong la-gi!" the voice came back, stammering like a person in pain.
One of Andi's colleagues, walked slowly and he found a hole deep enough with an old man in it.
"Sir! Right here!" he called the other.
Budi, Andi, and the others immediately approached. They looked into the hole.
"Darsono?" ask before others ask.
"L-yes, help me get out of here!" he answered with a brick, his leg was badly injured and there was a gaping scratch wound wide enough on his hand.
They immediately helped Darsono. His legs were pinned by a large iron trap used by poachers. Darsono may have fallen into the hole by accident. Really it?
Nature works miraculously, the village guards are fed up with the behavior of a group of people who pollute his village. They were already at the peak of anger until they finally punished anyone who violated the tranquility of the village. Including Darsono.
After working hard and helping each other, Darsono was finally rescued. According to his confession it's been two nights three days Darsono stuck there. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Along the way, Darsono continued to sob making Budi and Andi curious.
"You can talk?" Budi asked Darsono who was lying helplessly in the back of the car.
Darsono simply nodded, then fell silent again. Sometimes he moans when pain strikes him.
"Why have you been silent all this time? I think your tongue got cut off something!" The curious asked back.
Darsono shook his head, then said. "Because in silence I find peace,"
"Huh, your bald peace! Peace is killing people!" Andi quipped the sarcasm.
"Don't blame me, they started it. They're luring another soul inside me!"
Andi and Budi shuddered at hearing that. "What other soul? Stupid wong!" Andi again scorned.
"You will never understand. Only my lover Lasmi knows about it. It's a shame his death was so quick, I miss him so much."
