The Smell of Love Melody
Chapter 9

Melodi and Wildan have arrived at Melodi's apartment.

"Od me to your study" Wildan asked.

"Well, you're going straight to my office?" ask Melodi curiously.

"There's something I want to see" replied Wildan.

Wildan immediately walked into the work room Melodi activated the computer and immediately checked the CCTV footage.

"Why do you check my CCTV?" tanya Melodi is getting curious.

"I want to see what happens with Love today" Wildan replied.

Wildan went straight to the CCTV footage today.

"Well meet." said Wildan began to focus on watching.

The melody then followed because it was curious about what Wildan wanted to find.

"Why his face" asked Melodi so see the sad face of Love when entering the apartment.

"Sssst look" Wildan ordered.

Love is like looking - find something around the living room then move to his room then go out again and walk around in the TV room.

Love bent over, looking under the carpet, under the table. Under the couch and behind the closet.

"What is he doing? Like looking for something?" ask Melodi curiously

"See, it's a storm. I want to see his reaction" replied Wildan.

Finally Love stopped near the TV closet. He grabbed two pieces of paper then read one of them and hugged the other one in tears.

Love's face looks very sad and her tears are dripping. But Melody still did not understand and could not see clearly what paper Love was hugging.

"What's that?" ask Melody.

"Yesterday when I got here I found a family photo in the TV room. I'm sure it's Love so I put it on the TV table and I give you a message. I thought it must be very valuable" Wildan said.

"A photo you say is valuable?" ask Melody.

"Yes not just any photo of Od. It's a picture of his family, you forgot he was an orphan. I saw that little picture of him with his parents. The picture seems to have been scuffed maybe because it was too often touched" replied Wildan.

Melody fell silent, she recalled her life story. He's also an orphan and his family photos are on display at his desk in his office and in his study.

Something very valuable that he keeps in certain places so that not everyone can see it. Happy photos with both parents. Seven years ago exactly a week before the accident that caused the death of both parents.

Melody glanced at her family photos. Currently he is still very enjoying the adolescence like a teenager in general. He only studied, played and asked his parents for money.

It never occurred to him that life was bitter and cruel. All he knows is he's happy, has a perfect family and is rich.

But a week later Melodi was jolted on the lowest floor of her life. The harsh reality of the same day she had to lose both her parents.

He had just returned from college with Wildan. They were playing PS together - suddenly his housekeeper called him from downstairs in a very panicked voice.

The Flashback

"Den Odiii... Den Odii. "call Bik Sum.

"Od, it looks like someone called you" Wildan said.

"Ah where there is, if they need me they will definitely come to this room directly" Melodi replied without heeding the call of Bik Sum from below.

"Den Melodiii... " Call Bik Sum again.

"Od actually I heard someone's voice calling you. Let's just stop for a second" Wildan said.

They pause the game and try to concentrate on listening to sounds from outside the room.

"Den Odiiii" called Bik Sum while shouting.

"Eh right, that's Bik Sum's voice. What's he yelling at? Usually he never is?" ask Melodi curiously.

He immediately got up from his seat and walked out of the room on Wildan's tailing from behind.

"What's the Bik?" ask Melody while shouting as well.

"Den spit it down. There was an important phone call, he said from the police station" Bik Sumi replied.

"What's the Bik?" ask Melodi scared.

"A. There's a call Den said from the police" Bik Sum replied nervously.

Melody grabbed the phone from Bik Sum's hand.

"Yes hello" said Melodi.

"Good night sir, is this really Mr Sanjaya's son?" ask the man from across.

"It's my own right" Melodi replied.

His heart was beating so fast.

"I from the police want to tell you, about five minutes ago there was an accident on Jalan XXX. Where from our inspection the owner of a car named Mr. Sanjaya. He was also in the car with his wife" police said.

"A.. what? Papa and Mama in an accident? Ba... How are they?" asked Melodi surprised.

Bik Sum had already started to shed her tears. Wildan held onto Melodi's shoulder trying to give her strength.

"I'm sorry sir, Mr. Sanjaya and his wife died at the scene of the accident and have been taken to XXX Hospital. Please you come directly to the Hospital" replied Mr. Police.

"A.. what? Pa.. Pa. and Ma.. Ms. mening.. gal?" tanya Melody started crying.

The phone he was holding came out of his hand. The melody was instantly limp and held firmly by Wildan. Wildan took over the phone.

"Hello Sir I'm Mr. Sanjaya's family. Where are Father and Mother Sanjaya?" ask Wildan.

"They were taken to Hospital XXX" the police replied again.

"Okay sir, we'll be there soon" Wildan replied.

Phone disconnected.

"In. Let's go to the hospital" Wildan asked.

"Papa and Mama Wil, me. reka. is dead." said Melodi in tears.

"You calm down first, we have to check the truth" Wildan said.

Wildan took Melodi outside the house accompanied by Bik Sum and the driver went to the Hospital. When they arrived there were already a lot of police and nurses in the ER.

Wildan saw four bodies lying in the Hospital ER. The four bodies were declared dead at the scene of the accident.

"Ma.. Where are my Mom and Dad?" ask Melody while crying.

"Which family's father?" ask Police.

"Sana.. Sanjaya sir" Melodi replied.

"Family Mr. Sanjaya, please Sir. This is Mr and Ms Sanjaya" said a doctor.

Melody immediately limp when seeing the bodies of both parents are stiff on the bed and no longer alive.

"Papa... Mama Aaaaa" cried Melodi.

His cry broke even more when he saw the bodies of his parents were no longer moving.

"Don't leave me Pa.. Ma's... Why are you cruel to me. Why did you leave me alone?" shout Melody.

"Odi. You calm down Od. Odi don't cry. You must be strong" Hugged Wildan.

"Tuaaaan... Madam. "Bik Sum's cry also broke.

"Papa.. Mama...why don't you guys take me with you? Why are you leaving me alone?" yells Hysterical melody.

Melodi's hands clenched furiously. Unknowingly Melodi hit her desk.

"Od.. You why?" ask Wildan surprised.
