The Story is Not Over

The Story is Not Over
I Believe

Evelyn looked at her mother who was asleep next to her, Andrea's eyes looking swollen as she continued to cry as Evelyn told her life story until she lost Damian first, of course by closing the fact that he became a sex worker for the sake of his life and Damian's recovery, and as long as Evelyn told me her mother continued to cry.

Somehow if her parents knew that she had to sell herself for her life, maybe they would hate Evelyn and even be disgusted by her, Evelyn wanted to tell me everything but Evelyn didn't want to lose her parents' hug back after all this time.

Andrea sleeps in Evelyn's arms, asking Devan's permission to sleep together tonight before they return home, whatever the past, Devan is Evelyn's husband now then Evelyn's parents can't prevent her daughter from leaving, even if they want to.

Evelyn sighed, then put aside Andrea's hand so as not to wake her mother, Evelyn had to see Devan's wounds that had not been treated because of the blow she received from her father.

Evelyn opened the door slowly and then closed it again.

"We'll visit often.." Evelyn saw Devan sitting on the lounge chair on the porch of the house with her father.

"Of course, after all this time we met again.." It seems like Ben has already begun to make peace with his heart, how else, Evelyn is also married to Devan, and this jerk is now his daughter-in-law.

"I hope you'll always look after her, even though I'm a little unwilling for Evelyn to marry you, but this is her way, I just hope our Eve is always happy."

Devan nodded "I will always look after and love him.." Evelyn could feel the sincerity of Devan's promise.

"Yes, I'm trying to believe you.." Ben can see if Devan really loves his daughter.

Evelyn sighed as she chose to go towards the kitchen and prepared warm water to compress Devan's wound.

Evelyn takes the medicine box despite Evelyn's new arrival but Evelyn knows where the medicine box is located, and her mother has always kept it in the kitchen on top of the cupboard, her habit since in their old house, and her mother has always kept it in the kitchen, and sure enough Evelyn just needed a little tiptoe and got it.

When Evelyn approached Devan, her father was no more "Where's Dad?" Devan.

"Dad said he'd check the cattle.." Evelyn nodded.

"Come here I'll treat your wounds.."

Devan saw a basin of warm water in Evelyn's hand. "I'm fine.. Just two punches."

"But Dad's punch was pretty hard." Evelyn sat next to Devan.

"Can't talk about the past anymore.." Evelyn started to clean Devan's wounds.

Devan hissed, his jaw was a little sore, Evelyn's father's punch was indeed very hard, but Devan also should not be weak, this was not even worth the sins he had committed in the past.

"Dev, how can you love me.. Even after knowing I'm not a good woman.."

"Well, all I know is that I was so happy when you were by my side, you didn't know I had four years of pain from losing track of you."

"Or it's just because of your guilt.."

Devan shook his head, "If that's the case, then I don't have to think about you all the time, but what I have in mind is how to keep you by my side, forever and make you happy."

"I'm a call woman.." Evelyn said softly, as if afraid that someone would hear her, and in fact Evelyn did hide it from her parents.

"Isn't that love, no matter who you are.. I even feel ashamed of myself if I have to judge you, I am not a good person either, you even did it for the sake of our son.." Devan clasped Evelyn's hand "Trust me, I will do anything for you.. This time let me fight."

Evelyn looked at her hand, then looked up at Devan's eyes "I believe."

Devan was stunned "I'll believe it.. But please don't hurt me anymore.." Devan smiled, and nodded with complete confidence.

"Yes, yes, baby.." Devan kissed Evelyn's hand "I promise.." Devan rubbed his tears "God, I'm so happy.." Evelyn chuckled at seeing Devan so happy that the man shed his tears..

Right, this time Evelyn will try it, opening her heart back to Devan.

Wholeheartedly..

"Don't that mean the deal's over?" Evelyn remained silent.

Ah, right the contract letter..

Evelyn nodded, and Devan's big smile grew even more.
