Chapter 016: Before the Chaos
It had been two weeks since Xue Ying was immobile, even though his consciousness had recovered and could be spoken to. Although only Lin Chen and Long Xia Yun could commit.

"Mother?"
Luo Yi smiled gently at Lin Chen, then slightly kneeled down and rubbed Lin Chen's head. "Congratulations, your strength is already on par with Early stage Yuzhao. But never be complacent, practice harder."
Lin Chen looked up at Luo Yi's face. "Good, Mom."
"Has Star Sheng already turned into a battlefield?" Lin Chen was very curious, he wanted to join the war, but it was unpleasant if he was left behind.

Lin Chen nodded his head, then again asked, "What about Yi'er? Did you leave her alone?"
Luo Yi pinched Lin Chen's left cheek. "It looks like Chen'er has to get back to training. The one in front of you right now is just a clone, Mother's real body is guarding Yi'er. If Chen'er still couldn't tell which one was the real one, Chen'er would still have to train even harder."
"Mom, it hurts." Lin Chen rubbed his cheeks and groaned a little.
Luo Yi chuckled slightly looking at Lin Chen who was like that. It was absurd that an ordinary pinch would cause pain, whereas the terrifying attacks of hundreds of millions of Cultivators did not cause any impact.

Even though they were within a single Profound Ark, it had been a great distance since the last time they had eaten together. It's all because of the exercise that must be done so far.

There were only seven more days left before Xue Ying actually completed the system upgrade process. Lin Chen who accompanied Xue Ying every day was really curious about the new features of the System Version 500.0 upgrade later on.
Lin Chen relaxed with Yan Xue inside the same room, and helped clean Xue Ying's body once every two days.

Lin Chen who was peeling the apple looked up at the face of Xue Ying who was still asleep. "really?"

Lin Chen nodded small and stood up from his seat. "Xue'er, I went first to look for Mom. I hope you can be here to look after Yi'er."

Lin Chen nodded small and smiled gently. Then he turned towards the exit, then went to the back balcony as he sensed the aura of Luo Yi and Long Xia Yun who were there.
"Mother, Aunt. Has the pursuer arrived?"
Luo Yi and Long Xia Yun looked back at Lin Chen who was running.
Luo Yi frowned. "Where did Chen'er know that?" He who had broken through to the Intermediate Yuzhao stage alone had to ask Long Xia Yun who was at Tonzhi level to find out the opponent's movements.
