The Worship of Ex-Husband

The Worship of Ex-Husband
Opinions of Salma

Salma was surprised when she opened the toilet door to find Habibah's mother standing right in front of the glass screen. His pair of neutrals bounced, staring fixedly at him. If it had been like that, he was sure there was something he wanted to talk about.

"Mother, how are you?" Salma was lazy to say hello to the woman. The look of his face that looks insulting is a sign since the first woman did not like it.

"Follow tomorrow the Word will be engaged. And the next leave she's getting married."

Don't you? instead of answering questions from him, it addresses other topics. "Yes, thank God, Mom. Finally Mas Sabda can find a replacement for Salma." Salma opened the sink faucet, looking for any activity that could shift her focus towards this woman beside her.

"But that's not what I want to talk about!"

Salma's forehead wrinkled, her head turned to look at her in-laws. "Then what, Mom?" salma asked, trying to be friendly.

"You, you're already married. So, don't ask for money to the Word again. Maybe not yet, but soon she also has a new life, she will definitely have children too. And I'm sure he'll slowly forget about Ody."

Salma took a deep breath. Then he said, "It should be such a sentence, I give it the same Mas Sabda; the Word stop giving your child a living!" Salma smiled smirk after successfully giving the example of her former father-in-law, and now she could see an annoyed look on Bu Habibah's face. "Salma same mas Endra is still able to finance the life of Ody. So why should I ask Mas Sabda?!"

"Oh so right, he still sends money to you often? How many?! How much did he send money to you?!"

"Honored Mother Habibah. Ody is his father's responsibility. The Word itself is aware of that. So, without being reminded, the Word already knows its obligations. And please underline, if Salma and Ody never ask for money from Mas Sabda. Understood?" Salma's emotions were provoked, when he was about to get out of the toilet, said Bu Habibah again disturbed his calm.

"Please persuade Ody to sleep in my house. He should be close to the future mom!"

Salma could not force Aundy, let alone others herself trouble each time she persuaded Aundy. He has a stubborn attitude, just like his real father. But he wants his meeting with the former in-laws to be over soon. "Salma will try, Mom. Excuse me ...." He then passed, to the foodcourt that Aundy occupied.

As the distance to the foodcourt table drew closer, Salma suddenly held back her steps, she was observing Aundy who was laughing with Hani. Salma's little heart paled, suddenly the air around like it was gone nothing left, there was a sudden fear of tightly hugging her body. He's worried Aundy is more comfortable with mom.

"What the hell are you, Sal!" He muttered as he continued, he joined Aundy and Hani.

Because still so happy to play with Hani, Salma also undo his intention to bring Aundy home. He notices the way Hani talks to Aundy.

If he was born from a respectable family, he would also get a warm welcome from Habibah's mother. Unfortunately Arif Wicaksana is only the founder of the village workshop. Which according to the Sabda family is not as level as the rice boss. But whatever the setting, she was grateful that at least she still had the abundant affection of her family.

"Mother come home, Ody's tired!" The call made Salma's consciousness return, she stared at Aundy and Hani alternately.

"Come on! Salim used to be with Aunt Hani, just as sweet!" Salma's orders were directly obeyed by Aundy.

After finishing his farewell, Salma took Aundy away from before them. Not even the taxi they were riding reached home, Aundy was already asleep in Salma's lap.

Unlike Salma, when she arrived home she felt lonely. Two weeks Endra was at home and had to leave again, he was like resetting his heart to be more resistant to tortured longing.

The ringing of incoming voice calls distracts Salma. He immediately picked up the flat object, muffling his voice so as not to wake Aundy up. The phone he thought was from Endra, apparently wrong, the call was from "Mas Sabda"

Salma closed her eyes for a moment, thinking of accepting or rejecting the call. Finally, he shifted the receive cursor on the screen, then stuck the phone to the ear, waiting for the Word to speak.

"Cummer, Sal. Ody's there?"

Believe me it's just a pleasantry sentence that every Word wants to talk to him.

"Ody? Ody's taking a nap, Mas. Anything to tell you?"

It turned out that quickly, Miss Habibah, my God! "Em, yes" answered Salma briefly.

"What do you think, Sal? You told me she was my candidate?"

Salma wondered, why should he follow his opinion? Are they not the ones who will.

"Yes it's up to the same mas Sabda." Salma took a deep breath.

"Bu—not so! I mean, he deserves uh wrong—he can't love Ody. Because finding a mate with the status of a widower is difficult, not only who can love one person, but must be a package, plus his son and I do not want to choose the wrong."

Word words seem to remind Salma, he was quick to self-introspection, all this time Endra loved Ody right? He loves both of them, not just himself?

"I think I can ... Ody is also comfortable talking to him. It all depends on you. Ody's age can only match what's in front of his eyes. Don't dare protest this! it's just a little demoralizing!"

"That?"

"Hum ...."

"Mother wants a drink ...." The whimper broke the chatter of the Word and Salma.

Salma turned towards Aundy's arrival, then stretched out her phone. "Wanna call Sabda's dad?" bargained for.

Aundy's originally lethargic face now sparkled, he immediately took the phone from Salma's hand.

"When does the Word come home?" asked Aundy so excitedly.

"God's God is gone."

"Later on vacation, right? Bring mom too, huh? I know that Ody never met Aunt Hani ... She said she was Ody's mother's candidate ...." Aundy told her enthusiastically, not even giving the Word room to answer her questions.

Hearing the two busy talking Salma decided to go to the kitchen to pick up a drink.

And when Salma came back still saw how intent Aundy told me. "Udah Ody, your father's in the night!" Salma tried to remind, worried that Aundy would interfere with the rest of the Word.

"No, Bun. Dad said he came in the morning," said Aundy, then his mouth shut, his expression like hearing a speech from across the call. "Daddy's tool is breakdown."

Without being told again Salma had understood if the tool used by the Word was damaged so she could linger to let go of longing for her daughter.

Seeing the two were still busy chatting, Salma chose to enter the room, collecting her dirty clothes. For a long time he did not wash clothes, when Endra at home he actually drove his dirty clothes to the laundry.

Salma understood that time with Endra was precious. So, he tried to maximize his time to accompany the man.

As usual, Salma unpacked every pocket to check for money that might have forgotten to be put, and sure enough. Lots of coins and banknotes in each pocket of her clothes.

Salma collected the found objects from her pants pocket. And after he finished all he read the shabby paper that was not so visible writing.

Mata Salma squinted when she realized the writing was a bill from one of the hotels around Dieng. He tried to remember again, during Endra's leave they never went to Dieng. "Did he go with his friends?"
