“There are important things I want to explain to you.”
Salma looked indifferent with the opening sentence that Regina threw. This afternoon, exactly twelve o'clock past ten minutes, Salma and Regina were already sitting in one of the Padang restaurants around Bank BCI.
A greasy dish was just served on the table. But the two just looked at it, as if so the nutrition of food had moved into the bodies of both of them.
“What is this about your past with Word?” Salma responds after the ambient conditions are quite conducive. Actually he felt uncomfortable with the condition of the restaurant that felt so full by office employees. But, what power did Regina bring into this place.
Regina nodded. “Ak—
“I don't think you need to explain to me,” cut Salma makes Regina's mouth instantly clenched. “What part will you explain, will not change anything, kok,” he continued relaxed.
“At least, your assessment of the Word changed!” Regina responded, with a slight increase in her tone.
Salma looked at Regina's expression as she said that, looking so serious as to straighten out the events of that night. In fact, just so long as he knew it would not be of any benefit.
“I admit my attitude has gone too far! But, you need to know that I have absolutely no interest in taking the Word from you.”
Salma felt, this discussion was a waste of time and energy. Whatever his ears receive will not change the course of his life story.
A moment passed, the sound of commotion from the visitors managed to dominate. Salma shifted her focus by sipping the iced tea that had been served.
“I'm pregnant.”
Salma put her glass back, after hearing a short sentence that Regina said. He waited for the next explanatory sentence from the woman. In her heart she was not willing if Regina was pregnant with the child of the Word. "With Word?" salma asked, starting to be impatient.
"NO!" Regina answered briefly. "With my husband, Raffasya."
Salma breathed a sigh of relief. But, isn't pregnancy news supposed to be happy news for newly married couples? Regina should be happy, right? why a date with the Word. Question after question popped into Salma's head. Although curious, but he hesitated to just ask. Chose to wait until Regina stops talking.
“I was pregnant while in college. At that time, I was in a deep shock! I didn't want a baby in my womb given my young age. Other than that, there are still many things I want to do. My decision was to eliminate the baby. But, Raffa did not support me, making my relationship with him not good, until I found a friend of the story, namely Sabda.”
The chatter paused, looking as Regina took a deep breath. Salma realized one thing, telling massalu was a hard thing for Regina.
“Sabda is a good person, she faithfully listens to my story. As well as me who faithfully listened to her story, about you, about her mother, the Word was the most patient man I had ever met, even choosing to be silent and keep it all alone. There are times when the Word tells me Aundy's cuteness. And hear such a pleasant story of the Word. I want to keep my pregnancy.”
Although bored, but Salma is still willing to listen to Regina's story.
“At night our meeting was known to you. I'm in a state of chaos. Raffa asked me to focus on pregnancy, and take time off from college, but it was different from my principle of wanting to stay on. That night, I came to the Word, hoping that he could give me the solution as before, but the Word was not clear. Turns out the problem with you is getting messy.”
“That night I chased you, intending to explain. But the Word prevents, and will explain when you are home. That night, I realized. It has been so far disturbing your married life. My guilt is getting over hearing about your divorce. At that time I did not have the courage to meet or contact the Word. Moreover, after circulating news of the children of the main conflict of your divorce is me.”
“So, you want to explain that your relationship is not an affair?” salma asked, after Regina ended her story.
“Ya.”
“Application in public places. Mutually entertain. Meeting behind each other's partner, it's called what? If I hadn't come that night, maybe your relationship would have continued on the bed. And I'll be a stupid woman forever because I was tricked by you! Remember, Gina! the devil will not ask you directly to engage in a forbidden relationship. Everything is gradual, from chat, hugs, ciu man and last se-ks. Just so you know, that best friend is our partner, not another female partner!”
“I'm sorry you, just relax! but still, I will not forget about the bitter lesson you have given. Thank you for explaining everything to me. Don't think about it anymore! Now, me and the Word have their own lives. And you're happy.”
“Salma, Sabda still loves you.”
“Love?" Salma laughed lightly. "For me that's not the main thing. Because my sense of trust in him is gone.”
“Why are you so stubborn, Sal?”
“You mean?” salma's body leaned towards Regina. “What Word asked you to say this all to me.”
“No! that's not what I mean, Sal! I did not contact the Word at all. I know my mistakes in the past and now I want to make amends for my mistakes by getting you guys back.” Regina spoke firmly.
“Then, you need to know that the next sabda leave will be married. He is happy with his life now. So, do not expect your efforts to succeed, everything will end in vain.”
Regina doesn't believe it. He knew that Sabda loved Salma very much.
“And again—don't feel guilty like that. Our marriage cannot continue. But it's not entirely your fault. There's something else that makes me reluctant to go back to her.”
Regina knew enough about it, Sabda had told her about Bu Habibah who did not like Salma. “Can you give Sabda a chance?”
“Can't! I'd give him a chance, if only his family liked me. Had to fight hard if our relationship is not sanctioned by his mother.” Salma stared at the wall clock. Then get off the dining table. “I say yes, I still have something to do. Oya, than you take care of my relationship with the Word. You better take care of your relationship with Raffasya. You're lucky to have in-laws like Bu Rembulan.” Salma stepped out, leaving Regina still dumbstruck staring at her disappearance.
For Salma there is no point in knowing now. He hates the outside in a man who betrayed him.
After ending his meeting with Regina. Salma decided to go straight to the hospital, check the condition of her uterus to know what treatment will be done later.
Obstetrician's hours of practice are still long. So, Salma used her free time to get around to the nursery. He looked at the babies from outside the glass window. Until finally, the ringing of incoming calls made his focus distractible.
“When did you get here, Sal?”
“My business here is not finished yet. Ody's file I sent to your email address. Find a school first for Aundy.”
“OK! Then when does it finish? Next week I have to move to Malang! My husband is impatient.”
“Wait for my divorce papers to come down first!” Salma answered briefly.
“What if I stay first? But, I do not trust my employees here.”
“Ya already, whatever how good it is. Three days to hear the verdict. God willing I'll go straight there.”
A heavy sigh rang out from across the call.
“Yes, I am waiting for you. I'd like to see my son too.”
Salma chuckled, her friend did not have any offspring. So, consider Aundy like his own son. Although they have never met, they have spoken several times through voice calls.
