Toxic Friendzone
Drama

Kayla looked at Kenzie in disbelief. She did not understand why Kenzie suddenly gave a soft kiss on her cheek after the ill-treatment she was subjected to. However, she realized that she had to keep pretending and play her role well.

After a while, Kayla tried to break away from her tight grasp gently. However, Kenzie pulled him even closer with a faint smile on his face.

"I'm sorry, Kayla" whispered Kenzie as she looked into Kayla's eyes sincerely. "I know this might feel weird, but I did it because there's a reason behind it. Please believe me."

Kayla saw a sincere expression on Kenzie's face, and she felt that there was something different about the man this time. Without a word, Kayla decides to give Kenzie temporary confidence, though her heart still feels uneasy.

Time passed and Kayla still played her part as if nothing had ever happened between them. The two of them walked down the deserted school hallway, away from the sight of others. Kenzie stepped steadily, while Kayla followed carefully. No one spoke during their trip, but the uneasy atmosphere felt so palpable.

After a few minutes, Kenzie stopped in an empty room in one corner of the school. The room looked unkempt, with dust covering the messy tables and chairs. Kayla frowned, wondering why Kenzie had brought her to such a neglected place like this.

Kayla was silent for a moment her heart was wondering as well as fretting. It's still morning he doesn't want anything to happen like what's on his mind right now.

"Kenzie, why are we stopping in this room?" asked Kayla in a loud voice. His eyes glanced around the room that looked silent and messy.

Kenzie smiled mysteriously, looking at Kayla with eyes full of confidence. "Just calm down, Kay. I have something I want to tell you here."

Kayla became curious and sat on one of the chairs that could still be worn. He waited with a pounding heart, wondering what Kenzie wanted to say.

Among the flying dust, Kenzie stepped closer to Kayla. He sat down on the chair in front of Kayla and looked at her feelingly. "Kayla, we've been friends for a long time, haven't we?"

Kayla nodded, her face full of question marks. "Yes, it's been almost our whole lives. Kenzie, you look serious. What do you want to say?"

Kenzie sighed deeply before continuing, "I have more feelings than friendship for you, Kay. All this time, my heart never stopped thinking about you. You are like a star that leads me into darkness. I'm in love with you."

Kayla was speechless, her lips opened without a sound. He never thought that Kenzie had any more feelings than a best friend to him. All this time, he also felt that there was a special bond between them, but he was afraid to say it.

Hearing that, Kenzie clenched a light hand on his lap, feeling relieved. "Really, Kay? I'm really afraid of losing you if I express this feeling."

Kayla smiled, gulping at the greed in her chest. "Kenzie, we've been through a lot together. Our friendship is strong, and I miss you when we're not together. If this is what you want, let's have a relationship that's more than just a friend."

Kenzie smiled widely, a sense of happiness emanating from his face. He grabbed Kayla's hand gently, thanking her indirectly. "Yes, Kayla, I want to have a deeper relationship with you. Being with you is my happiness."

The empty room, which had looked gloomy and unkempt, seemed to glow with a new light. Kayla and Kenzie clasped hands together, feeling their world shift into something beautiful and brighter.

From another corner of the room, they heard steps approaching. Seeing that, Kenzie smiled and said, "It's time to announce our relationship to our friends, Kay. I can't wait to introduce you as my lover."

Kayla nodded, excited in her eyes. The two stood with their hands clasped and walked out of the empty room, ready to face the outside world that awaited them both.

Their love spirit continues to grow, in friendships and relationships that are much deeper. Together, they are ready to wade through life with joy, strength, and love that never fades.

"Isn't it beautiful, dear?" Kenzie smiled as he looked at Kayla who was flat on her. "Isn't it beautiful if it happens, and not a mere pretense?" she whispered as she stroked the girl's face.

"It's better if you don't say anything to Kenzie." Kayla argued and emphasized every sentence she said, she was sick of pretending and now she's going to play the guy.

"Good dialogue baby, what if we just apply it?" kekeh Kenzie, he did not expect that his little girl was this smart. But interesting too, not a flat story.

Kayla brushed off the man's hand and ran out but his hand was immediately choked by Kenzie.

"You think it's that easy to get away from me, baby?"
